    • @martybarry2395

Certainly rugby is mostly a classy and dignified sport, meant to be played within the spirit of the game. It is not meant to involve cowardice and/or lack of integrity especially by those chosen to play the game at the highest level and this is where the Irish team, with their cynical cheating involving pod based interference runners, remaining out in front of their backs, interfering and crowding instead of getting back onside for the first try against Scotland, have said, “UP YOURS” to their loyal and trusting fans & the rest of the rugby world, “We will do whatever it takes to win”
Thankfully karma and the All Blacks have teamed up and thrown you out of the World Cup, which is exactly what you deserve, but I feel for the genuine, trusting Irish fans and also for those players within the group who were opposed to the cowardice that you as a team were prepared to carry out in order to win. To ever get to the QFs, I believe you must do some serious soul searching, and throw out and expose those tricheurs that were responsible for this farce.

Winning 17 matches back to back is amazing but New Zealand will always have a great team and will never be an easy night's work for anyone. It's not the end. Ireland's U20'S have been fantastic last two seasons in the six nations and were runner ups in the recent U20'S world cup. The provinces are doing great as well so this is not the end. Yes this is a great team and a quarter finals doesn't do them justice but when Brian O'Driscoll, Peter stringer, Paul O'Connell and Ronan O'Gara quit, it seemed like people thought that would be the end of Ireland but we produced an even better team.

Very emotional Sexton, did well getting through the press conference so sad to see him and his son in tears after the game, just feels a travesty of justice, the draw etc. But every Irish person is immensely proud of this team, the small margins and penalties early on robbed them of a victory.

As an England supporter I have to say never seen a northern hemisphere side play with a passion like the Irish did last night. I think when you look at the teams they had to play it probably took it out of them. Unfortunately sometimes the final gets played a bit earlier, and that was the case last night. I guess the most frustrating thing Is knowing whichever team won last night would probably advance to the final. On another subject I think world rugby needs to sort out how these world cups draw out. When you have teams like Ireland Scotland and SA in the same group i think it’s unfair and doesn’t allow much room for momentum and it’s always going to come down to a bounce of the ball. It should of been a semi or a final. You look at wales Fiji Australia being in the same group 3 times in a row with wales and Fiji 4 times in a row. Takeaway the top 5 teams playing eachother and rugby can be so predictable. Its a shame but we are not even at the semi final stage yet and without sounding arrogant we already know 1 of the teams that will play in the final.

Andy Farrell all class and dignified in responses, when he thanked the reporter for the long question, summed up his class for me. Also Johnny Sexton is a World class player and competitor.
A couple of things though from an AB supporter he mentioned sucker punches, no such thing in Rugby, to continue the boxing analogy - protect yourself at all times.
Also in relation to the referee and scrum penalties, you have to adapt. If we are to look at the referee, the yellow card on Aaron Smith was a huge call to say it was intentional and that the Irish would have scored. The hole isn't there for Gibson Park if Smith is on the field and it's a very different game going into the half. That was way more telling than Jordies great defence
