Wow you do really well with the rusty lanterns. I took a gamble on an Embury once with bad pics and when it came in the bottom was swiss cheese. Looks like they did a nice pack job on the other one. I hate when people cheap out on packing a vintage item. Sweet finds!!

Great Vid👍 I picked up a Embury Defiance few months back. It had a old painted green surface years back, that was thin and worn-but underneath the whole thing was copper. Well I thought maybe it is copper. I did a Google research to see if Embury made a copper lantern. Saw a couple that sold that were sold as copper and looked like copper. Well I decided to strip the green paint with oven cleaner. Low & behold. The copper surface came off too! So apparently Embury likely painted some of those Defiance lanterns in copper!

Hey, Ken. Great and informative video as always. I recently picked up a No. 2 Defiance. Unfortunately, I just noticed the Fitzall globe doesn’t quite fit. I would have passed had I known. Live and learn. 😢
Sometimes the fitzall globes are a little short I have noticed but don’t give up on the lantern you can usually find vintage unmarked globes on Ebay that will fit it for around $16 plus shipping or maybe even a little better if you can make an offer it’s usually the marked globes that bring lots of money which in my opinion as long as the glass is usable in the lantern I personally don’t care if it’s an unmarked globe. Unless of course you can find a Defiance globe for a good price 👍
@@lotsatrains Hey, Ken. Yea I’m not particular about the globe marking either. I like the plain old wavy glass globes. This fitzall is about an 1/8” too short and rattles when you move the lantern around. Just a little ticked because I paid a little too much for this one.

Thanks I actually paid $40 for it but considering it’s rareness I don’t even think you can buy a Dietz Blizzard for that these days.
