- Grand Isle and surrounding headlands are the most accessible areas in Southeast Louisiana where we can wade fish for speckled trout. It also provides some of the best access for great beach fishing, pier fishing, kayak fishing, and bank fishing. There are multiple marinas for those with boats and places to stay whether you are camping or hoteling.
There are so many reasons to get excited about Grand Isle and I am making a point of spending more time there in 2024. I hope you can discover some of its treasures also. - Sport
can't believe you got your floating minnow back! Was watching a video on Tommy Vidrine's channel where he recommended fishing off Breaux's Rocks across from where you are.....stumbled upon your video. Looks like you were on 'em for a while!
To hell with those double trebles.
Nice fishing bro,on that floating luer
We used to surf fish later in the spring never this early great job bro
I might as well go down there for the beach fishing this year also, while I'm investing time in the area.
@@JonMillerFishing I would love to join u bro
That is fun to wade fish. I have not been down there in 30 years to do that. Just wondering where did you stay when you were down there?
I often stay in my truck camper.
Fishing in grand isle always is rough on the tackle, especially surf fishing since a lot of water gets to the reel. How intensively do u clean your reels after u fish down there?
I spray them off with a water hose, because I usually fish from the boat or wade in calm water. You are right, wade fishing in the surf is the worst environment for equipment!
Don't bring expensive gear...use robust cheap set ups to do this ...
were you fishing from Grand Isle or Elmers?
I’m referring to the whole area as GI but, yes this is Elmer’s Island or the Caminada Headland.
@@JonMillerFishingVery cool I need to make a trip down there with my kayak soon
@@tomprice5046let me know when u kayak there, ill join ya
Fav place to fish...wading is my favorite. Something bout it. Never had issues with stingrays or sharks...yet...don't recognize that treeline? Not on the beach?
You’ll have a bad day if you don’t watch where you walk here
What do you mean?
@@greogorybilliot1435 it has scattered metal guide cable anchors from old power lines that ran through there before hurricane. You’ll have to put in some time to figure it out. I ripped waders n also tripped on them. Could possibly injure yourself. Besides that tight lines n be careful
@@thecajunfisherman5263where is this exactly on the island
