    In this video you will learn 5 brain training exercises that you can practice to help you with focus, attention, attention switching and the connection between the brain hemispheres.
    They are either dual task, or crossing the mid line of the body style exercises.
    We will also discuss other simple steps you can incorporate into your life to promote a fit brain.
    The human brain is amazing and capable of more than we often give it credit for. And despite feeling like you might be stuck with the software you were born with the reality is quite different.
    There are some simple steps you can take each day to improve your brain health.
    Why bother doing these exercises? How does improving connections between the two sides of our brain help us?
    Extensive connections between the hemispheres of the brain can help keep you fit upstairs.
    I draw on my expertise as a memory champion and my past as a professional dancer, but don’t worry you are not going to have to put on your dancing shoes just yet.

    I saw you on another video & was shocked to hear that you had a poor memory. I danced all my life & all my dancing friends & I have great memories! We had to; our teacher showed us something once & we better get it! Later, I taught dance & our best dancers were 90 % of the time, excellent students. I am 70 now & taking tap again to help me stay sharp because I have noticed a very mild change in my memory. I'll be watching your videos often! Thx for posting.

    Hi Anastasia, hope you remember me from either/both LinkedIn or/and Facebook, anyway. It is an interesting video I have ever learned the memory techniques so far. The most difficult I have found would be the exercises using the hands in the opposite directions. By the way, are those techniques proven in terms of boosting/improving the memory, or rather brain, literally? Thanks :) Warm regards from Turkey, Ismail.

    • @Anastasia_Woolmer
      @Anastasia_Woolmer  Před 4 lety +9

      Hi Ismail,
      Thank you for your comment I am glad you liked the video :) I agree, the hardest one is the hands in the opposite directions - but keep at it and you will master it. (and then it is time to learn more different ones).
      There is science behind exercises like this, but it is more for general cognitive health. There are lots of articles you can read about it, Ausmed has a good article named Exercise - Induced Neuroplasticity - Creating New Neural Pathways (if you are keen to google it).
      Have a wonderful, happy, healthy, fit, brain day! :)

    My daughter dances and has trouble at times remembering the combinations and blanks.
    She also tends to struggle with body awareness ie left vs right.
    Do you have any exercises or tips?
