Next thing you know, Thawne actually went back in time, changed his name to Nora Allen, faked his death, and returned to this specific point in time only to say, “IT WAS ME BARRY, I WAS YOUR MOM!”
"I spent twenty years pretending to be a woman, married to your father, and giving you a happy childhood JUST so I could fake my death and leave you destroyed emotionally! MUA HA Haha ha ha ha!"
That smile. At 3:35, is Thawne deciding to go back in time, save Barry's mom, change Barry's answers on any tests he takes, make him fail all his classes through high school, become Barry's role model, help him get a girl friend, let him living a peaceful happy life, and then go back in time to kill Barry's mom.
I like how Thawne says Barry will have trouble finding a home for the next 5-10 years yet the video starts with Barry saying he and Iris just bought a new place
Except that Thawne went back in time to ruin his credit score after hearing that, undoing it so that Barry has no choice but to rent at a bad neighbourhood instead.

Actually, they owe him favors, his real credit score is far higher than what the Zoom Man thinks. They don't want Flash looking into their multitude of crimes, after all.
The Solid jj timeline is finally coming together, seeing as how Barry's mother's tombstone CLEARLY states she died in 1985, and Barry repeatedly states it's be fifteen years since her death, I can say with certainty that it is canonically the year 2000
Weirdly enough the dates actually line up with Barry debuting in 1956 (marking the start of the Silver Age) and dying in "Crisis on Infinite Earths" in 1985. I'm not sure why it's like that, but I'm guessing Zoom swapped out the original to mess with Barry and was building up to that.

Thawne killed Barry's dog, removed Barrys best friend as a kid from time, and once nudged Barry's hand in little league so he missed the catch that would have won the junior championships. People say Joker is petty and obsessed with Batman, but even Joker gets creeped out when he hears Thawne talking about Barry
Considering the messed up things that Reverse-Flash has done in the comics especially, it's honestly incredibly hiliraious that out of all things he's did, he still wouldn't dare to kill his rival's mom lol
@@kyahua3 that depends what iteration youre reading There are versions where he did and others where he didnt Its very confusing, related to the fact that he is also sometimes Zoom and sometimes not, the newest Thawne isnt even called reverse flash
@@kyahua3 Yeah, he was the one who killed Barry's mom. I think the idea in the video is that he hadn't killed Barry's mom yet because time travel doesn't make sense.
You know what really cracks me up about this? To speedsters, their speed is normal speed. So in their own normal super speed, Thawne watched Barry sprint off, waited for him to grab his super suit, change out, then watched him sprint back. Just waiting the entire time to deliver his monologue. Which makes me realize why it's almost absolutely vital that "no one knows Batman's true identity". Can you imagine being an enemy speedster waiting for Bruce Wayne to run off in completely normal speed, take off his suit and clothes, put on the entire batman outfit, customize it, and then come back to fight? Batman would be a complete laughing stock. In order to take Batman even slightly seriously, no one can know his true identity.
Thing is, this is absolutely Thawne would do. He enacts the pettiest revenge on Flash throughout his life. There's plenty of examples, but the only one I can think of at the moment was he once went back in time just to push a young Barry down some stairs.
[Reverse flash, but it's Canadian] Thawne: "Did you really think you were just lucky, Barry?! How does it feel, knowing that I was the one responsible for-" Barry: "Kil-" Thawne: "Partially paying for your wants and needs!" Barry: "What...?" Thawne: "That's right Barry! I traveled back in time to a year ago and put $20 extra dollars in your wallet each week until today! Now you'll have to live knowing you weren't 100% financially independent in your adult life! HAHAHA!"
He didn't want the Flash to suspect someone was screwing with him. He wanted the Flash to believe he (the Flash) was getting careless and possibly losing his mind.
Don’t take that as something did for decency sake; it’s for subtlety’s sake. If a payment is late, it’s inconvenient but not a big enough deal to do something dramatic about. If it’s actually gone missing entirely, you’re going to suspect foul play the first time, and there’s no way you just let it go twice in a row. So Barry would have caught on too quick.
I love how this guy came out of nowhere with a short reverse flash dub and won over the internet. The godamn flashpoint movie came out 10 years ago and it’s only getting recognition now because of him. He’s played RF in death battle and now Solid JJ. Watch, when they make a animated RF film they’re going to cast him 😂
I love how Flash finds out that Thawne has no interest in traumatizing him through life-altering means, but Thawne's pettiness is still enough of a risk that he has to chase after him
Actually based on Thawne's expression after Barry described how killing his mother would make him a core part of Barry's life, I think the joke is that Barry just accidentally inspired Thawne to murder his mother.
@@seasnaill2589 I'd argue it'd be the paradox because Barry doesn't go out of his way to avoid a predetermined fate and ( to my knowledge) there was no prophecy in the first place. However if we were to look at it from the perspective of it being a paradox then it makes complete sense; Barry tells Thawne about his mother's death, which leads to Thawne going back to do it ( probably just because he can ), which leads to Barry telling Thawne etc.
"Remember the time when you were eating breakfast, and you noticed that the milk in your cereal had suddenly gone sour? It was me, Barry! I vibrated the milk at super speeds, simulating the effects of aging, so it seemed like it had suddenly spoiled!!!"
Honestly, the credit score thing is pretty diabolical, seeing as many superheroes have a hard time financially, even without outside hindrance. He's really got it figured out: Don't defeat superheroes with typical villainy that they are used to combatting, do it by ruining their lives as civilians using a system they can't fight. TRUE EVIL!
You know, showing up as Barry is having a heartfelt moment at his mom's grave and leading him on to think he klilled his mother only to go off on a tangent about the various petty crap he's done to him is the exact sort of pettiness that Thawne would do.
Except the Yogi bear video where Yogi decided to end his life by blowing his cave full of crypto mining along with the ranger Smith. Also he's a crypto bro
It was ME BARRY! I took the batteries out of your alarm clock. Causing you to be late for work by 17 minutes, you believed that you forgot to buy the batteries in the first place, but it was ME ALL ALONG! Hahahahahahaha!

You’d love the show Venture Bros. Basically made for anyone who enjoy these skits, really. It exceptionally spoofs the relationship between hero and villain.
I love the subtle change of thawne's expression after barry said "become a key part of my legacy, as in thawne got the idea to kill barry's mom then and there, genuinely hilarious."
tbh it would be even funnier if thawne instead of killing his mom set his mom's killer to be in a position where they're caught by the police only to be given a not guilty verdict in court due to lack of evidence because thawne used his speedster powers to get rid of it that would be top tier petty
It was me Barry, I squeezed out the last bit of your toothpaste! I knew you had a date and that having to go get a new tube at the store even at super speed would cause you to be late by a few seconds to your date, leading you to leave a bad first impression! You believed it was a simple oversight, but no Barry! It was me!
"it was me, barry" has been like a classic meme I've enjoyed for a while but this is by far the most creative direction I've seen it taken. Everyone else tried to one up that thing with him doing more and more creepy and weird things. you went the exact opposite with random, mundane bullshit and I love it
I like to think reverse flash actually went back in time and became barry's dad just so he could say: "It was me barry, I did it!" "What's it?" "Ur mom."
@@ryanhernandez8324 I've seen a few variations, extensions, additions, and the like. or memes quoting the premise, especially since Ezra Miller ran off. but this went the opposite direction of those and I liked that so it stood out to me
Now that the files of the Hitler's secret police have been opened, we know that they actually did spend years doing things like this. Seriously. Breaking into people's homes and leaving all the lights on. Deflating their bicycle tires when their back was turned. Calling them up with wrong numbers on the telephone. The whole point was to make their victim paranoid, and in such a way that if their victim talked about it they would SEEM paranoid to everyone around them. Truth is stranger than fiction!
I like how the utterly smug expression still works for Thawne despite it being basically impossible to capture just how *utterly* petty (and obsessive) he is and even in the case where he *isn't* zooming away at the end to kill Barry's mom due to Mr. Allen giving him the idea. Gotta love bootstrap paradoxes.
@The Damned. He was going back in time, to give Barry's mom spoiled milk... or to strategically place porno magazines in Barry's room, when his mother opens the door to check if Barry is okay... or to steal that delicious cherry pie, that Barry's mom baked for him. I mean this guy's pettiness is on a whole other level; to the point where Barry dies of a heart attack, never knowing if Thawne was the one who killed his mother... and of course, why would he have to kill Barry's mom?
He didn't go back in time to kill Barry's mom, he wants to have sex with her just so he can say in the present "Yeah, guess what BARRY, i did your MOM!!"
@@virovac885 It's a paradox. Thawn killing Nora spurred all the events leading up to Thawn gloating to Barry about how he ruined Barry's credit and spoiled his perishables, then Barry getting confused and accidentally giving Thawn the idea to kill Nora.
A show about a villian hyping up to do something terrible only for the hero to find out it was dumb and trivial after much preparation or investigating would be entertaining. But the hype always gets the hero worried and keeps expecting the villian to actually do something terrible.
The fact this meme STILL works so well is amazing. Well I mean it is helpped by the fact that Thawne doing shit like time traveling to make Kid Barry miss catching a ball and lose his homework is just actually canon.
I mean if Berry had checked the date he would have thought it expired when it didn't, so kinda evil lol. I would have liked to hear what Thawn was behind next "I'm the one who deleted your PVR list!"
I was actually shocked when he said that the perishables hadn't expired because they had travelled through time to get to the future. Brilliant twist that I didn't see coming.
That's true, but the expiry date was probably still long past due - unless Barry actually sniffed the milk to check that it wasn't expired, he might've tossed it out early anyways A truly diabolical plan from Reverse Flash
Was kind of expecting Thrawn to hear what Barry was saying and then mid coversation run back to the past and come back with Barry's mother alive and well. Thereby revealing his true intention of making Barry's home life really awkward as he has to help get his mother's paperwork all sorted out and explain the last 15 years to her.
@@athath2010 I suppose that could lead to some big moral quandary where he would have to choose between keeping his mother or having to send her back to her death in the past to prevent a paradox. Then, when he talks about it to the Justice League we hear the sound of Batman running in to hear about this, and goes on to explain how he has multiple plans in place to make lifelike decoys to replace people's dead parents if he ever "accidentally" ended up getting sent to the right time period, or just got access to any sort of semi-reliable method of time travel whatsoever. Barry: So I had to make a tough choice. Keep my mother, or endanger history. Bruce Wayne: I have made a million contingency plans I've hoped I'd never have to use. Saving someone's dead parents through time travel is one I've prayed to God I'd get the chance to enact.
Actually that makes sense. Thawne would run fast enough to make it look like a murder. I bet he'd even plant a fake cadaver just to f!ck Barry's mind up even further thinking someone murdered her when in reality, Thawne hid her away safely in Metropolis, stole an identity for her, she dropped a few pounds and did a lot of exercise to where she looks completely different, and yet her DNA matches her to herself, and Barry must've seen her in a Starbucks at one point because God I don't know. I forgot a detail: he's only showing her off _now_ and what Barry has been doing was groveling at a plot that had yet to be used. It would be so perfect. He's only thinking of this _now_ because he had to check whether or not he already did it, because only he would know how this specific cadaver would be made.
3:40 I like to think that in Thawne's Head he must be thinking! "HM, so if i stop your mother from dying thus preventing your existence i Will be a keen part of your legacy, Brillante "
Gianni's voice has become so recognizable to me at this point, every time I see him in something it's like I get whiplash. He's like some kind of omnipotent SCP creature
I can't believe all these Reverse-Flash pettiness memes came because Thawne *canonically* admitted to time-traveling and ruining a young Barry's baseball game.
I think the best canonical thing Reverse Flash has done is go back in time and push Barry down the stairs as a kid while he's leaving school with no one around and it just confuses the hell out of him
Joke might have been slightly too subtle but what actually happened was Barry gave Reverse Flash the idea to kill his mom by telling him it was a key part of his legacy and happened 15 years ago. That's why he says "oh shi-" and chases after him
I love how flash telling him that killing his mom would make him am integral part of his history made him go from "oh jeeze killing his mother is off limits" to "well when you put it like that, I got a mom to murder" The face says it all
So, reverse flash goes back in time, while barry stays there without being able to do anything, then suddenly reverse flash appears again -Barry...
He also caused Barry to lose his little league game, and killed Barry's cat by leaving the door open.
