I thought this was gonna be AA stuck on his farm for 100 days but no it's just the simple joy of watching someone learn Stardew
Maybe next time :)
There is someone who's played multiple years without (almost) leaving the farm. Kallmekevin. He left only once at the start of each year.
@@ambiguousamphibian It better be. I damn well need to see you wrestle an alpaca before I die.

The most masochistic challenge in this game is probably "Mr Grass"; the goal is to make money by harvesting and selling only grass, no other crop. No mining, no fishing, no wild harvesting for profit etc. Just grass!
Its almost impossible to earn a profit in this way. But the chance is there! To prove it; Here's a few facts about grass in StarDew.
Grass is a naturally occurring resource that is present in the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. At the start of the game, the player's farm has many unconfined fields of grass. Each day, it is likely that existing grass will expand and grow into adjacent unoccupied tiles. And occasionally, grass will spawn randomly on unoccupied tiles anywhere on the player's farm. Also, the player can choose to start a new patch using Grass Starter, which will create a fully grown tile of grass where the player places it.
Grass can be cut using a scythe, sword, or dagger. If the player has a silo on their farm, each grass cut with a basic Scythe has a 50% chance of producing hay, while each cut with a Golden Scythe has a 75% chance. This hay is automatically stored into the player's silo(s) if there is room, otherwise no hay is produced. Cutting grass with a sword or dagger does not produce hay.
In the winter, grass will no longer grow and all that's left in 28 of Fall will die before 1st day of Winter, so it's advisable to collect all the grass in the farm beforehand. It is recommended that a player stores enough hay to feed their animals for the entire 28-day season in their silos. Hay can be purchased at Marnie's Ranch for 50g if the player does not have enough. Marnie may also send 30 hay in the mailbox at any friendship level greater than 0 points.
Propagation
Each fully grown grass tile consists of 4 tufts of grass. Each day, every individual tile containing grass has a 65% chance of growing. If the tile containing grass has less than 4 tufts and succeeds a growth check, it will grow 1-3 additional tufts of grass. (randomly determined) If a fully grown grass tile succeeds a growth check, it will check all 4 adjacent tiles. If they are tillable, there is a 25% chance for each tile for 1-3 tufts of grass to grow.
As you can see, you can grow grass and try to make profit from grass...but its far more difficult than it seems. Good luck...
I am your 666th like. It's awkward to be the 666th like for such a wholesome comment chain.
Stardew Valley is just like real life. I'm always tired, building friendships can feel like a chore, and this girl named Abigail down the street keeps eating rocks and ya know what... I think shes the one for me.
As a fellow stardew player I can confirm I simp for abagail
This observation is 100% dead on
There’s something about ladies with Purple Hair for me. Abigail in Stardew, Karen in HM: Friends of Mineral Town (not so much the remake though).
Not dating penny. Why bother?
If she eats rocks, she must be a driller. They are known for commiting warcrimes. Be careful.
Nothing like having a horrible work day only to see ambiguousamphibian post a new video.
Hope your day gets better :)
mood 👌
Nothing like the comforting soliloquy of an amphibian to keep my happiness in check
Truth, they make my day better.
Hit the nail right on the head
This game had one of my favorite patch notes: "Babies will now be born properly even if you pass out in the mines on the eve of the birth."
Every father deals with the stress in their own way, I suppose
Like the Chilean miners emerging from the depths...
I love how Stardew is played by literally every type of gamer and non gamer out there
I love stardew valley because i can play it with my friends or by myself when I'm feeling anti-social. It's one of those games that you could never really get bored of.
Michael
Sadly i can
My wife has "beat" it eight or nine or ten times... I've beat it once. And she started after me. :D
I don't have friends so I play all games alone :(
Shut up bot
there's a simple but undeniable joy that comes with seeing progress unfold in this game and I'm happy to see you experience it as well
Amphibian ages like a fine wine, 6 years later and got better overtime
Yeah except that he will immediately cancel an entire series and quit playing the game altogether when his exploit got patched out of the game, because he felt personally attacked as if the entire game’s community revolved around him and worship him as if he’s the core and only revenue to the game.

Being alone in the first flower dance is a rite of passage for every first-time Stardew Valley player
You are so poetic in the way you narrate your videos. It's quite unlike most other game CZcamsrs.
I recently heard him mention he's an english major. So his affluent articulations make all the more sense.
do you have any eggs
@@pigmentpeddler5811 what?
Glad you enjoyed your time in Stardew! Here's hoping you keep on trucking into year 2; there's still more to see and do!

This is insanity. So, I have been a quiet fan of your channel for a while now, so much that your style of content really inspired me to make videos. Even though I don't play most of the games you play, I enjoy your videos and wanted to spark that feeling with my own content. Last year I started making videos and chose Stardew Valley as a main game and, inspired by your videos, made a lot of changes to my own style. I had 150 subs and when I made those changes with your content as a goal, suddenly my videos blew up (the first of the batch sitting at 600k now).
Now it's all come full circle with this video and I can't wait to watch your take on the game.
Best regards from Brazil.
Parabéns, meu camarada! Muito sucesso!
@@victoraugusto4654 Valeu brother!
There really is a nostalgic, almost beautifully melancholic feeling of serenity and contentment that Stardew Valley cultivates within you if you allow it.
The early days of the game's subreddit, when the game was fresh and mysterious and the community was kind and thrumming with excitement, making new discoveries daily, was a halcyon moment in my video gaming journey. I was gifted the game by an anonymous stranger there. That act of altruism has never left my memory.
I'm glad you decided to play it, AA. It seems you obtained a small taste of what this game makes many of us feel, and why it's considered a masterpiece.
If you enjoyed this maybe give Graveyard Keeper a look. I especially enjoy it because while it does have days of the week, it does not have a monthly or yearly calendar to keep track of.
This is so refreshing compared to the other videos like this available. It's 100 days of getting to know the Valley and not the usual 100 days of efficiency. Hope to see another 100 more :)
AA, 12:28 really gave me goosebumps... I do catch myself smiling and feeling happy when I'm gaming and having the best of times, doing what I love. Now this is the content I'm here for 🥰 Greets from Belgium!
You know its good content when the only thing you want is for it to be longer 💜
It was a good time to accompany you on your Stardew journey. I hope you enjoyed this lovely game!
Stardew Valley is so incredible because it feels exactly like what old, classic Harvest Moon games should have become, instead of turning into lame one-note gimmick fests. There's no islands to raise up out of the sea, you don't gain or lose villagers Animal-Crossing-style based on how well you're doing, there's not two farms with limited abilities that you have to go between in order to get what you want. It's just you, farming in a town of interesting NPCs, accruing money and friendship and stories.
The fact that it's a gorgeous pixel art game that was made by one dude is just icing on the cake.
This was actually really touching, I found I had trouble enjoying Stardew but I can understand and respect where you grew to enjoy it!
"And i think that's the ultimate superpower: Learnign to be happy, alone."
Damn, AA. I love how you can make such entertaining and sometime outright strange videos, but then drop a bomb like that on us. Honestly a beauitiful little pice of irridium hidden in this video.
fascinated how what you describe about starting a new year of farming with new knowledge, planning etc 100% applies to real gardening. I felt it was a really beautiful text about gardening.
wow AA is playing stardew valley now this is amazing. i love this game
I also always knew about stardew but never really got around to playing it until recently and its completly captivated me. Great video, i hope you will get around to making more stardew content
I love how there is just a casual clip of him hitting the 0.1% chance for a prismatic shard to drop from a sepernt, had to do a double take for that one haha
This subverted my expectations, but in a good way. I didn't expect such a peaceful relaxing video of you learning stardew, but i enjoyed watching very much.
So fun to see you play stardew!
I wish I was not a day late so that the comment algorithm would give this a chance to be seen: Mr. Amphibian the Ambiguous, I wish to give you a compliment that I know many viewers would like to articulate. It is obvious when you play a game that truly inspires your creative mind; you turn your experience into a wonderful video essay that tackles real-life themes, and your way with mapping gorgeous prose about the importance of planning, learning and loving your craft, finding magic in the mundane, and being comfortable with exploring the unknown--it all adds up to a piece of work that has greater value outside of its success on the CZcams platform. As a creative writer myself, I know that these types of creations happen only when all of the stars align, just right. I hope you always release these sorts of vids when they come to you, because they are (imho) your greatest works, and possibly the most cathartic to you.
I wish you and your soul well, internet video stranger--you are pure and belong so well in this world; we are very lucky to have you
This is without a doubt the most wholesome video of AA I've seen. Proud of ya!
Can't wait for the upcoming bizarre SDV challenges you come up with! Great stuff
Same. I'm just getting into this game myself and can't wait to see the creativity he comes up with💭
Stardew Valley is one of my favourite games not only because it is satisfying when you sell or lvl up but also because of the fact that one person made this game that would last you hours of playtime and fun
I was literally thinking that I could use some wisdom today, and then this video pops up. Perfect timing!
he looked for leah in penny's house lol. I admit it was quite difficult to distinguish the townsfolks at first
I always like the way AA makes videos, a slow paced, well made, and well told videos while these videos are hard to find AA is a breath of fresh area in the over edited, fast paced, and low quality that has become the normal CZcams experience, AA please never change.
i really treasure my memories of my first stardew playthrough, and im glad you shared yours with us :)
I loved playing this game 7 years ago when I moved into my new house. Literally no furniture but a chair and CRT in the middle of a room, playing this game. I would love a sequel.
have you played since then? there was a major update in 2020 that added more late game content. you should definitely pick it back up if you haven’t
this was so enjoyable to watch ☺️ some of your reactions and little mistakes made were so relatable, like we all remember the first time our crops died! lol i hope you continue your play through, i’d love to see you interact with the npcs and progress in the story ❤
I appreciate the usage of the word "crap" on every video. It gives me joy and happiness
Really enjoyed this AA. I'd like to see you do more challenges on stardew. I've always wanted to do a brewery run
I would just like to take the time to voice my love for this venture and hope you continue! It's incredibly entertaining
I will always love seeing how people take on the 100 Day challenge. Thank you Mr Frogman, very cool!!
This video felt much more down-to-earth and sober than we usually get from AA. :D *LIKE*
In earlier days, AA was much more philosophical and thoughtful in his commentary. His pivot towards more comedic output was entertaining, but it's pleasant to see this throwback style of video.
@@furrymessiah Yeah the push for content creators to go toward the ludicrous is strong and most succumb to it sooner or later. Gotta get those clicks in a growing sea of garbage. I don't fault anyone for it... just a sad reality of content creators.
This video was so peaceful and calming. Almost nostalgic seeing AA play through the game, taking it by baby steps and learning from his mistakes. That winter section felt like when Christmas is nearing as well. I am glad you enjoyed this game and would love to see another video on it
I’m a huge fan of Stardew Valley, I just started a new run last week after deleting all my old save files and installing a bunch of mods. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and thanks for covering it on the channel!
1:06 it is funny phrase "head over heels". Your head usually IS over your heels. This phrase became backward as it originated as "heels over head".
Really good video! Looking forward to the 200 days!!
Usually people do those challanges with so much in mind to otimize, hitch is awesome too, but this take on learning the game in a season is great!
Hopefully you enjoyed so much that you would like to play this game more!!
Every time you said something about getting "organized" my eye twitched a little and I got Rimworld flashbacks.
I also just recently played Stardew for the first time, and it was such a fascinating experience for me. While the game is so steady and simplistic, the changing of seasons and the so called reset when the new year rolls around, make you want to improve and continue making your perfect homestead. The townsfolk are lovely to interact with and the soundtrack somehow already gives me a sense of nostalgia.
This video makes me so happy. Stardew Valley is one of the few games I wish I can forget only so that I can experience it fresh all over again. The struggle of finding out what to do with anything and getting thrown into a world to survive and grow and cultivate farms and relationships is my fondest gaming memory. I am so glad you experienced this and shared it with us!
It's so nice to see someone discovering Stardew for the first time! Would love to see the second year
Hey this video was lovely, I hope to see the next year of your progress!
Stardew Valley's a gem of a game. Glad you enjoyed it!
wild seeing someone play Stardew as a relaxing and meditative experience and not a constant nightmare of planning involving the meticulous construction of spreadsheets because you don't want to look up what the best crops to grow are and you want to maximize your relationships with as many people as quickly as possible, so you need to keep track of their likes and loves and find overlaps so you can streamline the procurement and stockpiling of gifts for everyone, ideally ones that are capable of having quality levels since one of the things you did look up was whether quality of a gift matters and it does. And in the end you just end up telling half the town to eat all these eggs because you've got a ton of top-quality ones and they don't love anything that's easy to get since you still haven't unlocked the desert because you're putting all your money back into the farm and don't know enough about what's there to justify the cost. And of course you need to set aside a special top-quality loved item for each of them for their birthday so you don't accidentally run out of Summer Spangles when they're out of season and now you can't get an easy two hearts in a single day with Caroline who's really behind everyone else in friendship since you keep missing during your gift-giving circuits of the town because she's rarely out and about
But this way seems fun too.
Seeing you learn stardew and just enjoy the little things within the game was awesome!
I love all of your vids, but this was genuinely nice to watch. Your voice goes so well with the games mood, and I really hope to see more in the future
Good use of the Stardew music for the seasons, man! You really hits the atmospherics well!
I know they may not be the most lucrative but I find these condensed stories to be almost like Aesop's fables having a lesson to be learned contained within a rich narrative. Thanks AA, a fragment of joy in an otherwise banal existence.
"I think that's the ultimate superpower; Learning to be happy alone."
This is the most important lesson a person can ever learn. Before you can trade your peace for the chaos of others you must learn what the value of your peace actually is.
I'm glad you took time to really enjoy the game for yourself! The Stardew community is amazing, but can be pretty intense. I am glad you found joy in the game! 😊
Love ur vids! Great job project bruv on the editing!
Amazing as always, and a pleasant surprise to see SDV on AA!
The farm MUST grow.
13:27 Seeing him die right after killing the serpent and getting that prismatic shard hurt my soul to no end
The best part, to me, was when you decided to stop streaming, let all the other goals take a back seat for a while, and just _enjoy_ the game. Let it wash over you, at your own pace. This is something that can be easy to lose sight of in a game like Stardew Valley, where there's always so much to do... to accomplish. And yet, it is also the most important part. It makes me happy to see you reach that same conclusion as well. =)
Enjoyed this video. I like the honesty of learning the game and ultimately finishing the playthrough off camera. Stardew is a solid game
The unparalleled joy of seeing someone new learn and enjoy such a rich and beautiful game got my dopamine a-jumping.
I just love the fact that you always seem to have seem to have some nominally meaningful commentary or opinion no matter how mundane or weird the game you play is. While some of your commentary can be boiled down to platitudes, it's still nice to hear it, specially with the background relaxing gameplay. Also the fact that you acknowledge that the accumulation of capital is a weird goal for such a community, quaint and essentially anti capitalist experience like Stardew Valley was the cherry on top.
I'd love to see more videos of that game genre in your channel!
I really hope you keep playing this on your own. This game got me through some difficult times and I'm glad you liked it :)
This is gonna be good, 100 days living and working on a remote farm is the perfect scenario for one of your existential escapades.
More stardew! Listening to your narration of learning the game is amazing.
So nice to see the difference between watching the stream of you playing this for hourssss and the completed video ❤
NO STOP I CAN FEEL MYSELF GETTING ADDICTED TO THIS GAME AGAIN!

Love this format. Keep being awesome!
I love the thing you said about being happy alone is the power it made me see my situation in a brighter color
This is the joy I felt so long ago playing Stardew Valley for the first time, very good watch.
This really captures the experience and thought processes of your first stardew run
Cool content. Short form is excellent for a lunch break at work. Also made want to dig out stardew valley from my backlog.
One of my favourite little games - watching that made me really nostalgic
This is the video I needed. You played stardew for the first time way more productively than I did my first time😂
Been praying you would play Stardew. One of my favorite games! Hopefully we get to see more of this.
Amphibian casually discovering the Joy of cottage-core.
That was beautiful. What a lovely game, man. You made me feel quite good :D
Stardew is one of my favorite games of all time. I'm So surprised you had not played this one, but I'm glad to see you pick it up. It's catharsis, in this RimWorld we live in. A much needed respite from a mood break.
I loved this video, your Project Zomboid videos were my favorite videos for that game, your Factorio videos inspired me to start playing that game and now you visit this classic I have already spend hundreds of hours in: great Stuff Ambiguous Amphibian, can't wait to see more.
what a lovely time. always magical to see someone's first experience with the game.
Stardew Valley is one of the best games of all time made by one dude. Not many can say that they've singlehandedly made the best farming sim, and one that practically revitalized the genre.
Ah Stardew, a beautiful and lovely game to play. Im glad you enjoyed your adventure and learned, there's plenty more hidden away and I hope you continue to learn and discover.
Miss the factorio and rim world vids. Found them years ago and fell in love then the other games were just icing for this cake. Love ya
That's my story. Played Harvest Moon all those years ago, fell in love. Purposely avoided Stardew Valley until 2 years back to not tarnish a childhood memory and not only did I fall in love all over again, but I've been playing Stardew Valley IRL since.

13:27 fainting may feel bad but that Prismatic Shard do be pretty spicy to find.
Love this game and I love seeing people experience it. By no means is SV my favorite farm sim (Rune Factory as a series and Harvestella are my current top choices) but I have sunk a very large number of hours to get Perfection and always felt satisfied working towards some goal or another. I probably won't revisit the game solo again but I appreciate the reward I got for my time spent.
Glad you finally gave this gem a go!
Stardew valley is such a good game! Playing it always calms me down and brightens my mood.
What an exciting video to see pop up! Very pleasant watch
I love these games, love your commentary... Great marriage of things!
good old stardew valley. never a boring moment in that game, the summer music is some of the best IMO. Now for the real fun . . . multiplayer. The joys of watching someone "accidently" dropping a bomb on the farm.
I liked this video! Stardew Valley is such a staple of farming simulators at this point and I'm always happy to see somebody having a fun first experience with it.
