I made several bad decisions in my life, But buying a manual Camaro SS 1LE was one of the best decisions ever. I know that the Auto is faster and electric cars are even quicker, but going to the track and shifting the gears yourself it's an unparallel pleasure. YOU MADE A GREAT DECISION TO BUY MANUAL

I own a ss1le with the manual six-speed and I totally agree with you. I'm an older guy, 65 and this car makes me feel young again like when I was in my twenties. I also own a 69 SS Camaro but I really prefer driving the ss1le because like you said it's a driver's car. Keep up the great work, love your videos
I also bought an SS 1LE 6spd, I bought a 21â 1SS in shadow grey metallic. I was 39 when I bought it.
I am 53 and agree with you. Having the 6 speed in my 2021 SS 1LE is the best.

i just sold my hemi orange package charger widebody 2022 and it hurts đąđąđąđą but in the future i will buy a preowned camaro ZL1 so sacrifice for more power and better

Was always a Mustang guy but ended up getting a Challenger Scat Pack Widebody Shaker (Manual) because Mach 1's were unobtainable. And this year my wife wanted a Camaro before their gone so now we have a ZL1 and wow is it incredible. I always hated Camaros but i love our Manual ZL1 the shifter and clutch is the best ive ever felt

Haha thatâs funny. Iâm a mustang guy myself and was going to buy a Mach 1 in eruption green, but I couldnât sell one of my cars in time and someone else bought the car. So I just put in an order for a ZL1 1LE which should be here in December. Never been a Camaro guy but I know these will be desirable in the future
Awesome if you can get a 1LE. Two local dealers told me they would not be able to get one before they cease production so we "settled" for the non-1LE and put a Carbon wing on it and getting hood and mirrors wrapped
You helped talk me into an SS 1LE with the 6 speed and I DO NOT regret it! These 1LE's with the V8's are the definition of modern classics!! Great cars!!
Appreciate the updated review Joe - your original review was a contributing factor in my purchase of nearly the exact same car (23 Radiant Red ZL1 1LE 6-speed). I describe the car as âDriving a Circusâ - fun and wild. The most pure driving experience that can be had at almost any price.

Bought a red ZL1 1LE with a manual and could not be happier. I know the manual is slower but it's just so much fun to go through the gears! Luckily for me I live in an area with nice roads. Great Choice sir! Love the reviews.
I have owned many fun cars, and I've gotta say that my '19 ZL1 (non-1LE) is just a blast. It does everything exceptionally well and plus it handles rough pavement nicely with the mag-ride. I'll never let this car go.

I bought a 22 ZL1 last summer. Had it a year now and absolutely love it. I daily drive it here in Vegas and the car gets so much attention. I've owned a 2008 GT500, C7 Stingray, Type R, Sti, etc and the ZL1 is just phenomenal. Can't see myself ever selling it. I'd like to add a 2020 and up Gt500 down the road. That would be my dream garage.
That's a great dream garage. My is similar with the ZL1 and GT500, but also adds a GT350R for the track and a Challenger Scat Pack 392 manual.
Thatâs really funny I came across this comment. I have a 22 ZL1 and I was in the garage and showed my wife a 21 GT500 and asked how great our garage would look with this sitting next my baby, he needs a friend.

I just bought a 2023 Rapid Blue ZLE and people definitely overstate how rough the 1LE suspension is.
The suspension is definitely bumpy at times with horrible roads but most of the time when youâre locked in the cockpit full throttle youâre feeling connected to the road and ready to go!

I would go with the CT5-V Blackwing because itâs this Camaro zl1 wearing a tuxedo,but Iâm torn on getting the 10 spd automatic or the six speed manual. And itâs a sleeper. Thank you for bringing this to us Joe keep dominating the apexes!! ON THROTTLE HERE WE GO!!!

Whilst the automatic would be faster, go for the 6 speed. You wonât regret it. Driving a manual never gets old, if you get the automatic, after a while youâll start lusting for a manual. Thereâs a reason nobody swaps out a manual for an auto, itâs always the other way around ;)

I grabbed a new 2023ZL1 last September and like you said every time I go in my garage for whatever reason I canât believe how absolutely bad ass it looks. I say the F word and just stare at it with a big smile.

Just took my 2022 2SS VOM out for that mid morning ride myself today. Roads were clear and mostly empty. Love down shifting with those bangs and pops. If you want one, do it now, the end is near.
After owning 12 Corvettes the past 49 years (still own a fantastic 2016 Night Race Blue Z06 coupe automatic) and just bought a 1-owner Loved fully-optioned 2019 Red Hot ZL1 convertible with 10-speed auto (one of 25 made) that I have fallen in Love with - my new All-Time Favorite car! Many Quirks and Lots of Weirdness just makes this car MORE endearing to me. What a great car - final thought here - the LT4 supercharger V8 comes straight from Heaven.

Recently sold my loaded 2017 ZL1 (10-speed automatic) that I bought brand new. I love a good manual, but one was not available when I was buying. It was truly an amazing car. It would bang through all those gears with a really nice kick. I affectionately called it "The Beast".
Get them before their gone folks. For under 80k these things are a PERFORMANCE BARGAIN right now

I think a lot of your success is owed to the fact that you are still old school. This is why I trust your reviews more than any of the others. I'm 55 and only want manual toys. BTW I am member #1 of Ratis' Nation $$$. Hopefully after I take delivery of my 2023 6MT Hellcat Widebody you can review it. I'd love to see your reaction to that car! Have you ever driven a 6MT Hellcat? I tried looking for that Ratis' rides video but couldn't find it.
Happened upon this video, very nice critique. I have a 2018 ZL1 1LE, but we decided to go full tilt and make numerous modifications. The largest part, a full engine build, the only thing that remains stock is the block [but bored over and polished] and the crank [but polished and balanced], runs on full race E-85. Safely makes1,000 HP, with complete engine longevity, it won't surprisingly decided to detonate. Numerous track related stuff, half roll cage, RaceLogic system, OMP race seats, 6-point, brakes, etc. Certainly not an everyday driver, still street legal. Doesn't have cats as it will just burn them out. These cars are true performers on the track and the street.
Hey, Joe great review on one of my favorite cars, I had a Camaro SS and it lasted for years, its a true American sports car and plan on buying another one before they are discontinued.

Hey Joe!! I didn't know you had a ZL1 1LE manual. I'm thinking that's my next car. That's how I found this video lol. As of right now I have an SS 1LE manual and it is a blast. Absolutely well put together. After two weeks you get the hang of it and visibility issues go away. It's uncomfortable that's true but it's all worth it. The handling is just amazing.
Modern Camaros are not my thing but at the end of the day is the performance what matters.

He is spot on for his review of the ZL1 1 LE, I was lucky to receive my allocation of this awesome car, no regrets for a track focus 1LE. And the 10 speed rips! Further 911 GT3âs second guess when they roll up next to this car.
I may have stated in one of your other videos...I just bought a 2016 Z06, 3LZ, convertible, (May 22, 2023) in Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic. It is an automatic, (I don't care) I've had plenty of stick shifts. I do love the LT4 and the exhaust. I love the Camaro but I wanted another Vette. I came out of a 2011 CTS-V (which had so much supercharger whine out of its LSA with a CAI) that it was unbelievable. My Vette has less supercharger whine but the exhaust note on throttle is unbelievable, as well as the acceleration. I love to look at my car too! Oh, and by the way, I like the looks of the C7 corvette more than the C8. Sorry, I know we're watching your Camaro video. Haha! Thanks for the video Joe!
I have an SS 1LE and couldn't love it any more! A question about yours: Have you thought about putting an axle-back exhaust upgrade on it? I'd like to get rid of the big "trunk" under the trunk and straighten out the exhaust a little more. I'm not worried about louder internal noise because it's made that way. Just curious about your thoughts. Thanks!

In 2023 just switch to a 2019 zl1 1le ! Always love manual car and the feeling that come with it !
Next will probably be ct5-v for the family ⊠manual for sure !

As much as I like the C8 Corvette Iâm a Camaro fan, Iâm leaning towards a 2024 ZL1 but Iâll probably go with a 2024 SS convertible
"...this car scares me from time to time.." Yup.... My son went from a 2019 2SS 1LE to a 2023 ZL1 1LE. The difference in the ride is the biggest thing you notice. Both cars are wonderful to drive but the ZL1 1LE is just something else. I would have to say that the thing that surprised me the most in both cars is the cornering. It eats corners up. One other negative you didn't mention was that the factory tires won't last very long. My son recently replaced his and you notice the difference even as a passenger. The car is less "grabby" going down the road. I haven't driven it yet with the new tires, Michelin 4S I believe, so I can't comment on that. But, he said they are really good. Anyway, fun video and great info! Have a great weekend.
I loved this video, but I get almost sad watching it. The ZL1 is one of a handful of cars that represents the apex of V8 muscle bliss. With the EV revolution weâre going to see the end of things like this. Iâm glad I grew up in the 70âs and 80âs and then got to see American Muscle make a comeback and top out with beasts like this 1LE. Iâm glad I got to own a Mustang and Corvette as well. USA.
Ive had my zl1 for 5 years now, thinking of a used 911 or older v10 r8. But i keep feeling like I'm going to regret getting rid of my manual transmission. đą

Just bought a 2023 convertible ZL1 itâs being delivered Friday. I wanted the 6 speed as well but after moving here to Florida and seeing the crazy traffic here I decided to buy the automatic instead.

@@trashbandit2449 I love both, but if I had to sell one it would be the ZLE.
The ZO6 is just a better car. More comfortable ride, targa top comes off, leather seats, better seating position, and louder exhaust.
The ZLE is the better toy. Looks more aggressive, more rare, better track weapon, and the blower whine.
@@thecarpergarage916 I'm thinking I'd take the ZLE in that case. Minus the seating position which kind of sucks, I can get over/fix the rest.

I think a c7 zr1 I'd take hands down though. Sucks that the zle didn't get the 7 speed, pretty high revving on the highways?
The color of your car is beautiful Joe. I know what you mean about the feeling you get when driving certain cars. My Challenger RT isnât the fastest car by any means, but the feeling I get when driving it is priceless (although I donât drive a gazillion cars to have anything to compare it to like you do! lol) Still wouldnât trade it for anything. I had my buddyâs c8 for a Month while I did a couple mods for him and I loved the car. However it was missing something. When we traded back and I got back behind a manual again, that solidified it. Iâm not a manual purist and the c8 was a lot of fun but it was just missing that driver engagement. Iâm torn between. C7 z06 and the ZL1 right now. Iâve always had Camaros and I love my corvette but the want for the 650hp is real.
This is one of my dream cars. I had a chance to drive an SS 1LE, and loved it. The visibility didn't bother me at all. It has mirrors.
I rented a brand new one for a week and it was a lower model with 100 miles. I felt really like a sardine in a can in that car.
It was also not very good visibility anywhere. The hood is long and protrudes up. I am right at 6 feet tall and my head was only about 1/2 inch from the roof.
I could probably overlook all of that if it was like yours with all the power.
I'm 6'3" and while i could see the high hood being a problem if you are shorter, my head never touches the roof.

I threw some Pilot Sport 4s on my 2019 1LE and that has probably been the best upgrade I did to mine (so far). I can actually drive in the rain now!

I used to have a 2022 SS 1LE 6MT Camaro that I traded in for my 2022 Shelby GT500. I'm a manual guy at heart so I wasn't sure if I'd be 100% happy not having a manual in the GT500 but I have zero regrets. The new GT500s are so much fun to drive.
I wouldn't mind buying a Camaro SS or Mustang GT in manual to daily drive though.

Snows on her now GTA . Friend had a 1LE (Had). Ride is strictly for the Track not a daily driver. Too stiff and jarring suspension.
Would like the ZL1 extra 200hp fun.
My car has the front end that caused a crash of options.

I know what you mean about seeing your first 69 Camaro. Always wanted one. My first car was an 81 Z28 sold it got married always wanted another Camaro. Finally got one in 2020 SS 1 LE. Almost bought a 2015 Z28 but wanted the creature comforts that came with the 2SS package. Going to retire in a year and plan to build a retro mod 69 Camaro.
