  • Thousands of Thai Devotees Visit Buddha Relics: India's Buddhist Diplomacy | Vantage with Palki Sharma
India has sent four of its 20 Buddha relics to Thailand. The relics are on an almost month-long tour of Thailand. The relics are revered by Thailand's Buddhist population. Hundreds of thousands have gone to pay their respects. Worshippers from other Buddhist nations in southeast Asia have also been invited to view the Indian relics. India's Buddhist diplomacy is bringing people together and also promoting pilgrimages to India's Buddhist sites. Palki Sharma tells you more.

Hinduism, the ancient religion that traces its roots to the Indus and Harappa civilizations, played a pivotal role in establishing early societies. To manage a civilization effectively, a hierarchical structure was necessary, similar to the organizational structures seen in beehives, anthills, or modern offices with roles from CEO to intern. The idea was to assign specific tasks to individuals, preventing chaos and ensuring the smooth functioning of society.
Imagine a scenario where everyone aspired to be the King - it would be impractical. Hence, a structured hierarchy emerged, with gurus at the top, followed by kings, ministers, and various roles outside the court. Castes were determined by the jobs people did or chose to pursue.
The problem arose in the current millennium when those at the top sought to maintain their privileged status. To maintain secrecy in their business restrictions on inter-caste marriages were made. Those responsible for societal tasks, like waste disposal, were labeled as "untouchable" and deemed dirty, perpetuating discrimination.
People very easily know to bad mouth Hindus on caste system, but few understand why it was made and then how this system got exploited! Hence in the age of globalisation, Today every Indian wants Caste system to be gone. 🙏😊

The four Dharmic religions (Hindu-Buddhist-Jain-Sikhism) native to the land of India share ideas of Karma, Dharma, Samsara, Moksha, and Yoga.
These religions share many similarities in core beliefs, modes of worship, and associated practices with 'Om' being the highest energy source. Ek Omkar. 🕉
In Buddhism Dhamma is the Prakrit word for the Sanskrit word Dharma and in Jainism, the word "Dharma" is termed as 'dharmastikaay' and In Sikhism called 'Dharam'.

I see here people are talking about four Dharmic religions .
But I see they are lacking the knowledge of differences of these religions .
      I'm Buddhist🙏 so,
      Let me say something about Buddhism with respect to others ;
Buddhism is very very unique .
& In the first suththa in Tripitaka ( The words of Buddha ) explain 64 kinds of religions in the world in past ,present and future . All those 64 kinds of religions don't have a solution to end suffering . Buddhism is clearly different from alk these 64 kinds of religions . There are 84000 Dhamma in Buddhism and exact half of it 42000 Dhamma is called Abhidhamma 🙏
It's the most deap & hard Dhamma to realize.
Every scholar up to today accept there is no any Dhamma like Abhidhamma present in any other religion except Buddhism. The Abhidhamma is only present in Buddhism 🙏🌸
BUDDHISM and Hinduism is also very very different . You can't practice both at once. You have to get rid from stupid hindu beliefs and practice to Enhance Buddhist practices within you❤🙏
      May everyone obtain happiness ❤
      May everyone obtain wisdom ✨️
      May everyone attain Nibbana 🙏

Sri Lankan Buddhists have been under various pressures for years, filing cases in Indian courts to free Buddhist temples in India from the power of Hindu priests. As a result, Buddhists were able to visit Buddhist shrines including Bodh Gaya. Today, India uses the word Buddhism and Buddhist temples only as a way to earn money by bringing tourists to their country. Sri Lankan Buddhists as well as all countries where Buddhists practice Buddhism have a very good understanding of this situation. In Tamil Nadu, not only Sri Lankan Buddhists who went to India but also Buddhist monks were attacked. Generally, Buddhist diplomacy cannot be practiced in Sri Lanka because Sri Lankan Buddhists know the hypocritical and duplicitous behavior of the Indian government. I think the Buddhists of Thailand, which are Buddhist countries, also have an understanding of this situation. The reason is that Sri Lanka, Thailand and Myanmar are closely linked in Theravada Buddhism.

India was never 'warring' states but a single entity with multiple factions . It means becoming one of these is actually being greater than the earth, sun, moon, and milky way galaxy , thus what else to become in a live time as a human being on this earth. There is nothing of more importance to commit then this. After this level surpassing the universe is your own body that's in the end.
