what hardware do I need for this? I would guess a laptop and some sort of cable to connect to the ecu?

how do you know if the car is equipped with it i have a e90 2007
How do I know if it has an alarm system but not coded ? Lock the car via key fob, then unlock the car via keyblade and see if it sirens . If it does you have the hardware. Please consider subscribing to my CZcams Channel for free if you haven't already to show your support
From what model of year can I activate this(does the 2005 e60 have the beep?)
2003 onwards should work on the E60 . A way to tell is to lock the car with the fob, and unlock it with the key blade . If it sounds an alarm then you have it built in but needs to be enabled. Please consider subscribing to my CZcams Channel for free if you haven't already to show your support
