The lady : my father passed away 2 weeks ago
Mr wonderful: back to reality, let’s talk numbers
Perfect approach. The entire premise of the show is a business pitch "I walk into your house and ask for a million dollars of YOUR money because trust me bro." Entrepreneurs always weaving in some trauma to leverage a deal when at the end of the day it's nothing more than dollars and cents.
Money talks
"I'll need to take an extra 2% royalty for his death"
I knew I’d find a comment about this 😂
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Barbara: "I'd like to buy a dozen"
Also Barbara: "I don't believe in it, and for that reason I'm out"
Plus what doesn't she believe? The numbers? They'd obviously be checked before any deal is closed.
why is barbara still on the show? she has never taken a risk…
She cannot afford a dozen chairs. Bet she was out of that as well
Always like this.
Im out, therefore i am Barbara
When doesn't she say that
I like how Kevin always makes his offers like he is playing a board game or smthng😂😂😂
imagine if he REALLY plays monopoly: " here is my offer son, all road leads to mr. wunderful. so listen. This street is expensive and there is no way you will double your rent in the next 30 minutes, so i make you an offer..."
@@johannmuster9726 " ...I will give you Baltic, but I want a 10 dollar royalty for everytime you pass Go in perpetuity. And if you don't take it you're grounded for not being as disciplined an investor as I am"
its called chess
*something
💯
Daniel was so annoying with his offer. It was a terrible offer and he kept pushing it and he kept getting ignored lol it was great to see
No. It was a good offer
@@smoothasmr8392 🤣
They were so rude to him he told him a story about his dad that she could relate to so
@@tonystank_kick the story about the dads were sad enough true but has nothing to do with business.
He made an offer and asked if they wanted to counter they couldn’t even bother to counter him
I love the way Mark talks business, it's so serious yet so calming.
He’s like the Simon Cowell of shark tank idc
I know what you mean.
Even when I disagree with him I agree with him. He validates himself very well.
Mark peeking up and cracking a smile as soon as he hears “I want 5 bucks a chair” is hilarious
Barbara: “Call me a beach, but I’m out.”
LoL
Nice one. Rly got me good
Barbara your numbers blow me away and for that reason I'm out
Kevins "ichi-wawa karamba" is the best part of this whole video 🤣🤣
Caramba*
I think they were trying to paint a picture of two very humble and nice entrepreneurs and I think the sharks saw right through it. Also did anyone notice when she was talking about her dad Kevin said oh that's too bad with the most serious, unsympathetic expression ever lol
She literally grew up a multi-millionaire and tried to play the angle of humble beginnings. I wonder where their capital, financial safety net and time allocated for them both to work full time in this business came from LOL
Agreed. She didn't have to throw that in. She was looking for sympathy and they painted themselves as something they aren't. If we saw this in the edited version (these can take up to 90 minutes in real time) I'm sure the sharks also saw right through it. Kevin realizes he's got plenty of time to do his due diligence before actually writing a check, so he can back sure what they said was legit. IMO their valuation was unreasonable. Just cause a product starts off hot, and will inevitably see a surge in growth after the show, doesn't mean it'll be able to sustain those numbers long term.
KEVIN IS ALL ABOUT M ONEY.
if you have to point out that you are "humble" you are most likely not humble.
No arms rests, no head support and pillow, accessories cost extra. They need to lower the cost of producing this.
Them: we are very humble
Also them: we are going to be the most valuable company in the shark tank
Did you like the product
@@mkhanman12345 Yes, I like the product. Easy to copy though.
That's not being arrogant its being confident
@@chazzerayen4615 Arrogant is when you think you are better than others. Confident is that you have trust in yourself.
If they were confident, they would say:
We have a great product that will sell millions in the USA and abroad.
Not (arrogant):
We are going to be the most valuable company on Shark Tank.
In short, the last statement is arrogant because you don't know other shark tank performances so you should shut up about it. Keep it to yourself, that is confidence.
@@Philippe_Gruijthuijzen They are selling a product to extract investment. It's not a kitty party. You play your best hand.

“Yea my father just recently passed away, but he’d be so proud today ”
Kevin- “that’s crazy. sales.”
The chairs are 296 now, ever since this aired, just if anyone was curious and wanted to either buy a plane ticket to New York or a beach chair
Rich ppl r dumb
Ill wait for the chinese knock off that will have all the accessory’s and will sell for 49.99 at odd lots
I would be interested in how it works after Sand gets into all the moving parts
Yeah it looks great in a dry conditioned space of the studio. Bring me one that is 3years old.
And what is the warranty liability that Kevin just exposed himself to?
More like salt if you use it by the beach always. Metal oxidize twice as fast because of salt.
They still have to do due diligence and a legal and technical team vet everything before the deal is actually closed …
That’s what I was thinking !!!!
Yikes
There’s no way I’d pay $300 for a beach chair.
But you're willing to pay $1500 for the latest generation iPhone i suppose.
@@george_jordan my man right there
@@george_jordanlmaoo exactly
@@george_jordan actually yes, something I will use all day every day for the next 2-3 years until I buy the new model then vs. a chair I’ll use once or twice a week for 3-4 months and keep in the garage for the remainder of the year…
This is luxury goods, the Hermes and Dior of beach chairs for sure
I love Kevin, he’s actually here to do get into deals and make offers that work for him, sometimes it also works for the entrepreneurs
Keep in mind, out of the deals they make, after the show and they do their due diligence, 30-40% of them never go through (according to Mark).
This is honestly a premium product marketed towards the wealthy. But I'm shocked they didn't roast them for looking for exposure. Because that's kind of how i felt they were there for ultimately. Especially with the evaluation of the company.
They shouldn't do that anyway, nothing wrong with taking advantage of a platform for exposure.
In many ways the Sharks themselves are also using this Show for their own Exposure and Personal Media Motives that go beyond actually caring about investing in random businesses. And we are all entertained watching it.
Win/Win/Win.
:)
They just handed away 5% of their company for almost nothing... With their numbers; a bank would have offered a business loan at low interest and taken no ownership.
@@lawrenceshdow yea I think it was a trade off for advertisement
@@lawrenceshdow no they didn’t. They got the best shark
i like how the sharks got so amazed by the valuation and forgot to even ask about what is the money gonna go to
The actual Shark Tank pitches last several hours. They are edited for tv. I guarantee they asked that question.
@@DeepSouthBuilder Wow really? I didn't know that

As a person from south jersey, the shore culture is such a large aspect of summers in NJ. there are so many people that stay down whole summers or go frequently. 200 for a chair that ur gonna use a ton throughout the years is nothing. especially when many people own homes down the shore.
Why would someone buy a chair for $300 that's made in China by some no-name brand, when I can buy a designer chair for about the same amount that's actually made in Europe/NA?
@@bbking006 no “designer” beach chair is 300 bucks😂

Going through a rut, but watching this while I sip my iced coffee, something clicked in me, and I feel inspired. Thank you. I liked how Kevin pointed the finger and said "Done!". That inspired me for some reason. Thank you Mr O'leary.
Thanks for this incredible story. You are very brave
Lets get it bro
Hope you succeed at whatever you put your mind to!
Love the energy. Sometimes the most random things can get us through though times and motivate us to do what needs to be done. Just gotta go with whatever life gives you and make the best of it!
I love how mark face look when he heard 1million
Kevin is one smart guy. The KIND guy was on his rag.
They need to reach about 60m in sales for him to see his money back...
Not a great deal imo
I love when Kevin gets the deal he’s the best
There is only one Mr Wonderful
On their website, the beach chairs have a 4.8-star rating from 191 reviews. Sunflow makes around $3-4 million in annual revenue and is worth an estimated $16 million.
So they JUST reached the 16 million valuation after the deal. Kevin made a dumb move
@@alex161 Not really… I’m sure he’s on track to recoup his $1,000,000 through the royalty. After that, he only stands to gain money from his equity in the company.
Well their deal fell off with kevin after a few weeks and so they found other investors
@@willyj3321 With a revenue.of 3.5 million at $200 per chair, Mr
Wonderful is only making about $80K per year.on his royalties. It will take over 12 years at that rate. Not bad, but not great.
They're still just beach chairs. I'd never pay $200 for one. And $25 for a cupholder is such a rip-off.
Update: The deal has failed because they raised money from other investors
I was wondering about that. That sounded like a bad bad deal. I give you a million and you pay me back a million? and maybe 2-3 years later we get an exit and Mr Wonderful gets 5% of the company, minus debt, investors.
@@JazzyMarineVet the difference is when people come here, they are in need of money so that they can scale up the business. A small equity while only repaying the investor their investment is not bad.
The investor also risks losing the money if the product stops selling like it used to.
Thank you for sharing that information.
@@frozenfire72 these are sharks, not your typical Angel investors or silicon valley investors. The entrepreneurs can expect to pay a premium to be a shark tank product and have Cuban, Lorie, or. Mr wonderful. He usually asks for 3x in his investments, a royalty, and then an equity share. The entrepreneurs got a better deal than Mr wonderful did, in my view
@@JazzyMarineVet Eh, the sharks aren't the holy grail of investors, there are plenty of other big pockets out there that can do the same things as them, or even better if their new investors are in the beach or similar category business.
I live a few towns over from where they’re from and I’ll tell you… Mark was right for calling them out on being “humble”. They live in 1 of the top 3 richest snobbiest towns in America. When I worked in the shopping mall in that town, it was all people like this. I’m not shocked in the slightest that they priced those average at best chairs for those highway robbery prices. Delusional, out of touch people from a delusional out of touch town in New Jersey.
Barbara: "I'll take 12 right now, for those reasons I'm out"
Let us establish this
“I am humble” said no humble person ever.
I don't get how people can pay 200$ dollars and more for a sun chair.
I mean, understand the sales, brilliant invention.
But the price cost seemed too high for me.
There are a lot of millionaires out there that can afford it, or high middle class. To them the convenience is worth more than $200
And for those reasons, I’m out.
White people pay for anything
It is for people who do not have a money concern. They actually love to buy nice tho gs and new gadgets.
@@olgafigueroa2909 some people also love to overpay for items as a flex.
I have watched Kevin's multiple offers and I think this was the most generous one.
That was super risky to nickle and dime a 1%, so many entrepreneurs have lost deals in the shark tank because of that.
1% is worth more to their company than most others that have come on the show because of their existing sales and projected growth.
Kevin knows it was a good deal. No risk to his money and he gets 5% equity in a company that will be worth 100 Million+. Easy 5 million dollar return on his money.
Even at the 4% it was a GREAT deal and Kevin knew it, and to get another 1% is even better.
Kevin has ZERO risk on his money, the company is already profitable, is seeing zero signs of failure (yet), and he gets a now 5% exit at a possible $5+ million dollar return
I think they knew they didn't really need a deal, we're making millions just for being on the show.
Its bot risky at all kevin already knows he's not gonna waste his money since its a royalty deal
Woman: My dad passed away a week ago
Kevin: That's too bad... Back to our reality here, let's talk sales
“Well he’s gone just like me if you don’t accept my deal.”
I actually really like this product… but I’m broke lol
Love the functionality, I mean everyone can agree that beach chairs can be cumbersome at times. The price is a bit steep, I can see the price of this chair going down particularly if they expect to expand into loungers and/or a bigger beach chair. I'm very interested in the product but not at that price point.
“A bit steep” you are out of your mind. The price is the definition of insanity. Besides that the fact that you are even interested in this product Is crazy. You realize that it’s literally just a foldable beach chair that you can attach some stuff too. Put your money some where more important. Please.
@@superEriccui lol. Never understood people who got rattled about what others choose to spend THEIR money on. 🤦🏼♀️
And so for that reason you are out. Thanks barb.
Imagine when you get sand in between those racheting/locking parts.
these ppl always get their valuation stoopid high, and a humble person does not say he's humble
Barbara: I haven't bought a beach house yet and for that reason i'm out.
KEVIN IS TOOOOOOO FUNNY😭😭😭😂😂😂 “sorry to hear that…that’s too bad. Back to our reality here”. Dude doesn’t care😂😂😭😭😭 gimme the royalties is all he’s thinking
They didn’t get the $1 million from Kevin, but they raised $3.5 million in an investment round led by Great Oaks Venture Capital and FOD Capital. Sunflow makes around $3-4 million in annual revenue and is worth an estimated $16 million.
That was basically the same numbers on the show. So whats new? They said 10 mil revenue for next year.
I don't get it. Why is it estimated to be worth 16 million when it's revenue is only 3-4 million?
I thought it's supposed to be something like 4 times the net profit.
@@greatarabia8091 3-4Million annually.. maybe the business is about 5-7yrs old

This is a new brand of passive agreevise humbleness ive seen 🤣
Mr. Wonderful always has the best offers, he usually stays very money motivated and his deals always holds true to invest in possible ideas, but always making sure investment will pay off.
It blows me away how some of these companies think the shows exposure will help them. The only exposure they got was exposing the margins which makes me not want to buy it I mean chair should be $150 max and accessories 80 percent margins cost them $5 sells it for $25 is bs accessories should be $15 max
The idea is actually great, I've had it before, same concept!
Mark is looking great. Healthy. Younger skin. Last year he was looking old.. Had old people's skin.. Was Looking a lot older than his age..
Wonder what changed? Is he still vegetarian? Maybe he started eating meat again or something. Usually vegetarians and vegans look terrible for their age
Barbara: I left my grandson at the beach, so for that reason, I'm out.
Barb: I’ll take 12 of them!
Lady: Great, that’ll be $17689….
I always love it when he says 'And to what does this lead you, back to Mr. Wonderful.'
My grandparents fled from Trinidad in the 60s during the revolution. Am I allowed to bring this up at any job interview to tug at heart strings.
Mark allyooped that deal for Kevin. Touché
Wow! Good for them and Kevin. I'd wish the couple let us know what their previous education and career back ground is?
Her Dad would be so proud of her. 2nd generation entrepreneur!
$200+ for a beach chair?! What about big families? Amazon can easily start selling dupes for $40 max.
The chair is high quality the cost is 76 dollars and those Amazon chaid cost like 12 dollars 😂😂😂😂😂
I love Mark. He always congratulates the entrepreneurs
The chairs the sharks are sitting in costs $6500 each :)

@@shireenalsaifi4028 Look up Herman Miller Eames
Whoa, Mark was right! Kevin got a pretty amazing deal. I don't understand why the other sharks thought it wasn't... They came in asking for $1 million for 6% and he got them to give 5% for a million but...is basically guaranteed to get his money back WAY faster, most likely within the first year or two. All that just for 1% less than what they offered. Who wouldn't take them up on that deal? It takes a big part of the risk of investing away.
(That is, of course, relies upon their numbers being legit and that aren't fudging the numbers somehow. But like with every deal, it isn't completed until they do their due diligence and make sure everything is on the up-and-up. So really the risk of making such a deal is negligible for either party.)
I mean they have to sell 200k chairs for his money to be returned which is $40m in chair revenue. It absolutely wouldn’t be a return in 1 year. Take at least 4 you’d think assuming they scale well.
They have to sell 200,000 chairs for him to get his money back. They have sold 11000 so far, no guarantee they can sell another 189,000 at that price. Deal will never close as it will take years to reach the 200k chairs sold and they plan on diversifying and he gets no royalty on other products
@@lijahboy1728 I think they'll adjust the deal to include royalties on accessories. In which case he may have a great deal on his hands.
Remember when people thought yeti was a terrible business plan because no one would buy a 400 dollar cooler??
I thought the counter asking for a reduction by 1% was quite risky.
Yup it was literally lower than what they were originally asking. And Kevin isn't guaranteed anymore than what he put it in. I'm glad the deal fell through after the show aired.
