    As a brit, I only ever really feel patriotic when viewing our nations past. Say what you will about the morality of it but in the words of Dave Chapelle - "don't judge a photograph because it wasn't taken today". All that aside, over the course of the two videos I've gone from feeling slightly scorned by the Americans basically mugging off the British to kick things off (knowing too how it ends of course), to now feeling like the American victory in this war was not only absolutely well deserved, due to intelligent strategy and British ineptitude, but also that the manner of the victory speaks so much to how present day America holds itself. Listing them would be mundane, but just thinking about the parallels is facinating

    • @Rivarya
      @Rivarya Před 2 měsíci +1

      The concept of “historical relevance” doesn’t make any sense when you’re talking about morales. Causing human suffering e.g colonialism, slavery, sexism, etc is objectively bad as are the people or nations who did those things. Be proud of your country for its technological genius or something not it’s all encompassing imperialism.

The prank was for everyone to hype the cave as a must-see visit, only to show up and find a barely 6 foot unfinished dent roughly carved into a rock wall to store supplies, littered with straws and beverage cans, with a gate at the front and a “Historic Virginia” sign next to it noting that it was unlikely Cornwallis was ever there (the rest of Colonial Virginia sites are pretty amazing though, and I would highly recommend Williamsburg as a nice historic vacation spot….just not Cormwaliis’Cave).
