- A look back to the lineside on 9 May 1987 when she headed the Severn Wye Express. We see her in action at Nant y Derry, Frampton Mansell, Brandier level crossing and disappearing into the distance, passing under the original Severn Road Bridge.

Nice this is the only video I've found of 6000 on CZcams the rest are old films without sound or dubbed. Thanks for sharing admiral
it has been a long time since she has performed like this!
Wonderful images. Great to see her running. I live in Swindon where she was built & where she now resides in STEAM Museum along with City of Truro & Caerphilly Castle.
She certainly has good company there!
Priceless Mike, absolutely priceless...what a wonderful selection of vintage clips...I enjoyed every minute, that tractor and the crowds at Brandier Crossing shows that nothing has improved over the lat 30 years...Bob
Beautiful images that we get younger. Thanks Michael. Philippe
@hawaiisidecar Its nice to be able to look back to see what used to be so normal and now gone!
@barsony3 I am glad you enjoyed watching KGV in action. She really is a magnificent loco and a tribute to all those who work with her!
Great video Michael
I am 60 now but during the late 1960's I was fortunate enough to see her as she passed through Nantyderry which was near to where I lived. She was magnificent and its an abiding memory for me. She was shifting that day. All steam, green and polished brass. That's engineering.
It makes you proud to come from the country that introduced steam locos to the world!
Its such a shame she is now on static display. A wonderful locomotive like that should be seen on the track. If I won the lottery I know what I would do with the money.
Keith Jones Fingers crossed for you!
@Bidone1967 We are so lucky there are those able to keep them in running order for us to still enjoy!
Nice pictures from a wonderful train!
5*!
Bidone
my grandad R.I.P told me lat he was a fireman on King George V during the 50s and 60s when he worked on the railways
@james426able1 And that was really hard work too! A man to be proud of indeed!
@robmasterman Ha Ha! Yes it remains quiet until the train you have been waiting for, for quite a long time, comes into view, then crowds arrive from nowhere with a noisy vehicle! All part of the fun! Luckily they didnt really spoil the view!
Should get her running again, not just left in the Steam museum. 😢
That would be good!
