It does look great in white, but I might be one of the few weird human beings who prefer the ship in red, since we don't get this kind of deviation often. Usually it's just the same thing but upgraded(or downsized) each time
Finally, i thought i was the only weird human who liked the red gunship, the white one looks great with all the modifications, but i prefer the simplicity of the original one 😅
I agree full heartedly. The variation in style is a breath of fresh air with all the repeats we get.
I personally don't dislike the colour, I dislike the size and the door part of the set to be honest. I never owned the previous one and it looked so good.

I feel like similar to an XWing, Tie Fighter, and Millennium Falcon, there should always be some version of a gunship on the shelves to purchase.

Considering the second hand market of gunship prices, $215 for a white gunship is actually the cheapest version of the gunship you could get right now! And I prefer the smaller gunship size, the old ones were always a bit large in my opinion, especially how high the ceiling was for the minfigs

There is a way for you to open the doors after the color swap. If you put the bubble turrets into the round technic piece you may be able to open the doors

Thanks for the video! I have to ask though, are you still planning on linking the XML file for the Bricklink parts list? I’ve bought a set solely to do this colour swap and it’d be nice to know if the parts list is still coming or if I should go ahead and try to replicate it myself. Awesome video. I remember watching this channel when it was still Legoboy12345678 and seeing the clone army video in 2012 when it came out - that was a favourite YT video back when I was a kid. I color swap, my republic gunship, added ball turret’s and the total was about $60-$70 on pick a break for the new parts free shipping free standard fees and I can’t wait till the part comes. They should come this Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the other standard parts should sometime after Christmas. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it looks. I hope it looks great.
If you used the xml file exactly please tell us if there are any missing pieces I want to color swap the gunship and I don't want to make more then just one order because a couple of pieces were missing thank you.

Awesome video as always!! Just wondering if theres a parts list somewhere. Having a hard time finding the exact pieces from lego pick a brick site?
Maybe its just because ive been buying lego star wars since i was a child when the phantom menace came out. But im happy when they change things up. Im personally not an army builder anymore. I have a lot of financial responsibilities as an adult now and lego has released a minifig scale gunship three times now prior to this. I got 2/3. I personally dont need a third slightly differently sized gunship. But what ive never had is a unique variant gunship. Which people used to beg for back when clone wars was the primary focus of lego SW.
Theres kind of a conundrum with lego. Theres always new people starting collections and Its gotten much more popular in the last five years to buy and collect lego. So either lego will stay in a perpetual cycle of constantly remaking the same ships so new people can obtain one at a lower cost. Or my hope was that they would start doing this and making variants. And the beauty of lego is that its interchangeable. It is a building toy and i applaud SolidBrix for displaying creative solutions for people who would want that standard white gunship.

@@-supguys- parts you don't need to buy if you are doing it as a colour swap, they aren't included in the file but I'd need to buy them
@@Mrmegaminergamesok I got you I don't have a file for your request either does David but the easiest way to figure out what parts you need would be to look at the xml file subtract all the pieces in the xml file from the parts list in the Lego instructions then you will have a rough estimate of what you need to buy. Please if you are going to use my idea and all the pieces that you need are not there please don't put the blame on me, my idea is just a suggestion not solution to your problem. I think this is a prime candidate for the alternative colors lego has been doing, maybe having a white one like this with P1 clones, maybe plo koons with some new Wolfpack troopers. I think it could be pretty good and I could definitely see them selling well

So nobody realized the coruscant guard gunship was in the clone wars episode when commander thorn had his last stand not all gunships were the same color

I appreciate LEGO for going a different route in terms of variant with the Gunship, but I think they should have came back with the standard colored Gunship for those who missed out on it back in 2013 and then come out with this new variant. I also wish the ship was a bit bigger.

I always enjoy a Recolor build of any starwars set. Gunships look difficult to rebuild into a MOC any capacity. Modding a lego set to fit your needs can be satisfying indeed.
The color conversion works as a MOD, it’s the same thing I did with the Republic Fighter Tank for the 501st. Great tutorial David. 🔥🔥🙏🏾

I've just ordered all parts for the MOC of this exact gunship in white. Got it all (except the bubble turrets) with the four clear bubble canopies for the wings (the mod you showed in your 4 mods video) for around 110€ with shipping. Can recommend the moc!
something about the textural mess across the body makes me think it was better in dark red when the darker color could hide it
