  • I tried challenging myself to learn the frontside 5050 grind around the corner in Lake Cunningham Skatepark's Mini-Bowls. Once again, this is proof that you can start skateboarding at Middle Age in your 40s and progress incrementally and safely.

Very Nice! i had the same issue when grinding 5-0 around a corner, so I found a great tip on a Braille Skateboarding video that i used for most corner grinds on the trucks. If you break the trick into 3 parts and skip the 1st part (run-up) and then place your board on the coping where you enter into 5050 and then run onto it, you can save a lot more energy trying to figure out the angle that your body needs to lean and the speed you need to get around the corner without riding over onto the landing or not making it all the way around. This makes ur run up a lot more confident knowing you already have a feel for the hard part. I recommend this for any flat bar tricks where you can place the baord and jump on to get a feel for the speed and landing. Shout Out Braille Army! Best channel for tips and tricks of all ages and levels of skating!
