In this clip, Aries Spears spoke about the late comedian Patrice O’Neal, who Aries pointed out was controversial, but he called him “brilliant.” Aries then spoke about a conversation he had with Patrice and a joke that Patrice made about Mike Tyson. Aries added that although Tyson has changed in a lot of ways, he believes that “a lion is still a lion.”
Patrice wasn’t just a comic, he was a philosopher. He’s helped many a man stay righteous, and strengthened relationships through those same men. It’s King, Queen. Ain’t no Queen, King. No woman wants a man who she’s cooler than. Rest in Power Patrice…miss you everyday!
No he actually was just a comic. You having no role models or even examples of who to look up to in life has you thinking that Patrice O'Neil is the model for philosophy. Thats no different than a 10 year old saying the power rangers are the world's highest level of security. To them maybe because they don't know and ain't seen shit yet. But there's no excuse to say or agree with this as an adult. Far as comedian? One of the best specials ever imo. Top 10
@@Im_telling_on_your_asses No, he wasn’t just a comic. Have you listened to the hundreds of hours available of him on the radio? Either on Opie and Anthony, or his own show? Patrice doesn’t have the impact that he does based off one special. While it’s one of the best ever, it’s just a small slice - and a very reigned in one at that - of who and what the man was.

If he was so loved and his legacy was that significant they wouldn't have to put together a fuggin charity every year to raise money for his family. He'd have an estate that would increase in value after his death like Dean martin, Richard Pryor, etc.. But as the new "progressive" generation takes over and deemed Patrice a misogynous his relevance is diminishing and what he's said is not allowed to be respected in fear of getting canceled. He made a couple good points and told a story better than most and had a way of looking at things from an angle no one else could and then paint that picture for you. He went too soon. I met that dude twice before he died and hes very down to earth and almost playing a character on stage and turning up extra around his comedic friends. But he could care less about the points he made. He was good at making them but he didn't stand on any of that shit. He just rolled with the wave. But he can be whoever you need him to be for your motivation. On paper he's a good comic that was controversial

Patrice did stand up and didn't even write most of his material that's very rare in comedy and he "killed it" everytime. Extremely underrated comedian and a comedian's favorite comedian.
what are you even talking about? He didn't write it? who wrote it? and you aren't suggesting he free styled it because he has only a few specials and I've seen him plenty of time in LA and FL and just like every comedian it's the exact same 1 hour he does in every city for years until he writes the next special. Just like every comedian. does. Maybe Chappelle used to go to clubs and just do long talks to work material out and thats how some come up with their material, but it's all written and timed and repeated until it's ready

I think you should be clearer when you say he didn't write his material. He improvised a lot because his comedic IQ was so high. 90% of the time the jokes were just flowing out of him because he could find humour in anything and everything. That's what made him such a master of his craft. I remember hearing Bill Burr say that Patrice was on his way to becoming the best replacement for Richard Pryor and I totally agree with him.

Patrice was too much ahead of his time. People weren’t ready for the truth he consistently dumped on them. I used to listen to him on Opie&Anthony and wait for the next wild thing he would say. But it always all made sense and left me sitting there thinking about the wake-up slap I had just received. As far as female nature and male-female dynamics, that man’s science was absolutely unique. RIP.
