I was disappointed that Fenris left in anger because the audience were so static, no mosh pit. But they put fucking barbed wire across the stage. Surely the shouldn't expect us to try stage diving...
This gig was not announced ...this was for locals/ friends only . I grew up with these guys , from day 1 ,and I , not being from Oslo didn´t know about this gig . Fenriz has always refused to play live ever since the "Soulside Journey " days (as you know ) -just a handful of gigs ,now and then ,in the 90s such as this one.
As a long time fan, I remember that interview when Fenriz claimed that the people turning up to see Darkthrone were probably all idiots and that he didn't want to play live, but did it because Ted "forced" him to do it. I think he's just a classic Narcissist more than anything, thinking he's superior to his fans who would pay money and travel just to see his "too cool for you" metal band. I would have been one of those people if I had known about this gig. Don't forget, there were no internet groups or anything of the sort in those days. I was the biggest fan of Darkthrone until they released Panzerfaust and they slowly turned into some different type of band.
