  • In an exhibition on Norwegian black metal music opening 29 March at the National Library of Norway, Ted Skjellum of the legendary black metal band Darkthrone will be presenting unique new recordings.
    Ted, also known under the artist name of Nocturno Culto, talks about the uncompromising Darkthrone method, about why the band has not played a single concert in 27 years-and barely rehearse-as well as the single reason he chooses to have long hair.
    The exhibition is open until September 16th at the National Library at Solli plass, Oslo:

    he and fenriz are very much alike, not sure what they think about that but it feels that way. it is good to see that they both still enjoy doing thing with darkthrone, otherwise it would make new music pointless as in some cases, because you are wondering "why they are still doing it" or "what new things are they going to bring to the table". whatever it is it, is good enough for them, and pretty sure they have the support from the label and the fans. anyway, it is always a good thing to hear new things from them and that they are doing well. thanks for the interview.

    • @spice7620
      @spice7620 Před 9 měsíci +1

      They have moved to a more classic metal sound. Their 2021 eternal hails album says that it is "epic black heavy metal" which I think sums up the last couple albums quite well. At its core, it's heavy metal, with longer (epic) songs with, most importantly, blackened vocals and production, which I think gives the music it's charm. The riffs and the epicness definitely are drawn from classic doom metal, which makes sense as the band has stated that "epicus doomicus metallicus" from candlemass is the greatest inspiration for their previous album. If you're into the band, I think it'd be worth picking up a CD of eternal hails (2021). I also have their latest, but I prefer hails more
