Very very excited to see how the renos go! I totally agree with living in a house first before doing any work. Also unless you are buying to flip then do what you want to suit your needs. Don’t worry about resale

I would die without central a/c. I already keep it 65 degrees or below in my apartment. So happy for you guys!
Ooooooo trust me when I say it was unbearable, we got temp window units for the rooms but the second you turned them off or walked into the main area of the house it felt like hell 🤣
You definitely need a tub.... cramps, sore muscles, romantic evenings!!! I cook almost everything from scratch and rarely use a microwave. I went two years without one, but my mom insisted I needed one so gifted one to me. It is nice to have. I have a new appreciation for it.

Toaster oven > microwave anyway for reheating smaller portions. If you miss a microwave at some point, you can always get one second hand or get a cheap one.

had to start somewhere! and omgggggggg I keep saying, because this is our first home and we are very much inexperiences, if we had taken on a bigger home I would not have known what to do and probably would have given up and hired someone to do the design work for me hahaha
😭🤣 you let a fly in your face was everything. I brought a fly and bug zapper it kills fly’s, I never have to worry about flys in our house, highly recommend got it off Amazon.

Do you have any video or pictures of the actual "before"? You had mentioned that you had changed the closet in the master bedroom and added the IKEA closet system as well as closing up a door (to another closet I think?) in the guest bedroom. I know you have huge and wonderful plans for the house yet to come, but I would love to see what it was like when you bought it to get a sense of what it takes just to get it to the point it's at now. I live in Chicago and as 1 person, a house is unlikely. But I would love to have a sense of the actual potential of an apartment that is also 100 years old...

it was from Restoration Hardware but from a while back, we are selling it!
How is this a "fixer upper"? It's gorgeous.
oOooooOoooooooo it is a fixer upper my friend - it's a 1924, parts of the foundation aren't even touching ground anymore, no insulation, no central air/heat, uneven floors with mixed laminate and hardwood. We made it look cosmetically pretty while living in it but it was not functional - oh ya, the electric is outdated and if you run more than 2 things at once like a hair dryer and washing machine, you will blow a fuse!

Sorry this is an off topic question, but how do you keep your dogs hair out of everything in your home? Your home looks so clean and hair free lol ...I have 1 large husky/german sheppard mix and his hairs are everywhere all the time.
I vacuum twice a day with the Dyson - the newest version with the laser that lets you see all the hair and dust you miss! and it has a ton of attachments that I can also use on the walls, floor boards and furniture LOL
im kind of obsessive about it

I would’ve sided with Kyle on the no bathtub option lol I never understood the hype, they take up so much space, are not grandma friendly 😤 the water gets cold super fast and the thought of sitting in water that has all your dead skin cells just floating around you…egh not for me lol the house that I’m remodeling I’m taking all the tubs out 😂
Finally, someone who doesn’t like and understand the bathtub hype for the same reasons you listed. Also, I never use them and I don’t like cleaning them. I’m in the midst of remodeling and the bathtub was the first to go.
It’s for resale value - most people with kids want tubs!

If I were you I would keep the microwave.. at my old place we hardly ever used it. But now we’re are in a place that doesn’t have one and I find that now that I don’t have the option to use it I actually need it more… 🙄

The house has been stripped of all the charm and woodwork. This is no longer a California bungalow. If you wanted an empty shell of a house, you should’ve bought a mid century ranch style home in the San Fernando Valley.
I’m very much team eff the microwave so I appreciate that! If you eat healthy, you usually need it less and it’s the way of the Italians, so I support 🤌🏼
