The Michael Bay Transformers/Bayformers films are some of the most well known blockbuster films in recent history, for better or for worse. In this video, we will be looking over the 5 main films in the franchise and see how lore, backstory and worldbuilding became even more incoherent as they went on
*Edit: For some reason instead of saying NEST, I say UNIT to refer to the human allies. I obviously got a crossed wire between this franchise and Doctor Who, which I've been rewatching recently. Sorry

As a side note, maybe now that you’ve done a few Transformers videos you could do one on how Megatron is basically a different character in every film. In the first one he’s like a bloodlusted warrior and leader of the Decepticons. In the second one he’s a loyal servant and disciple to The Fallen instead of the leader. In the third he’s much weaker and tied for leader/ playing second fiddle to Sentinel. In the fourth he’s back from the dead somehow with a new name and body and he wants to do something with his new army? And in the fifth film he went back to regular Megatron and he’s the leader again only now he’s a loyal servant to a brand new boss. Bonus if you throw in Bumblebee where he’s just nowhere to be found despite his army being in the middle of a war for Cybertron. To say nothing of all the different objectives and mcguffins he’s after in each movie. Could be an entertaining video.

He is robot satan in all but name, he can fly freely, he is bigger and stronger than all the other transformers friend or foe, and he fucking EATS AUTOBOT SOULS like you said.
Hugo Weaving was the perfect pick for this version of Megs, a growling menace.

  • @Nullmeo
    @Nullmeo Před měsícem +8

2007 deserved much better sequels. The Fallen’s backstory, Megatron’s relationship with the Fallen, even Sentinel and Optimus’ student-teacher relationship were such interesting ideas. Even powerless Autobots on the run from a Cybertronian bounty hunter and humanity was such a cool idea. And yet the film’s writing treats the Transformers like spectacles instead of actual characters. We rarely had moment when every personality of the Autobots and Decepticons were allowed to shine, and the crappy humans didn’t really help much either.
Also on the All Spark portion killing Megatron, the way I understood it was that the cube’s power was simply too much for him. Hell, if you think about it, the Power Stone in the MCU kept on killing anyone who grabbed it back in the first Guardians film. It makes a little sense.

Folks saying that humanity has no reason to turn against The Autobots regardless of what happened in Chicago, But i strongly disagree. Humans turning on the autobots is quite a realistic thing to do. Yes! Decepticons were the ones that Revenged Chicago, But one autobot traitor was behind the attack. That of course being Sentinel Prime. He's responsible & the reason why Autobots were backstabbed by humans. Again this is quite a realistic situation. I honestly doubt humans could ever trust the autobots again since because "Sentinel Prime" an autobot traitor was behind all the plans. Not all people turned on the autobots, Some had common sense and Said hey, what happened back in chicago truly was not The Autobots fault. Optimus Prime never actually knew his former mentor would betray him, nor did not expect humans to turn on them after chicago's destruction & hunt him down along side with his fellow autobots.

And phrases "like one with the allspark" or "one with the matrix" do tend to Pop up in various continuities whenever a transformer dies so it's possible that primes in the bayvers do indeed "become one with the matrix" And their spark can regenerate and or reignite when The matrix is placed in their chest...
As for Megatron's head not being as dead as the humans thought. And being able to supply them with The technology build him a new body... I don't know. Maybe he has some sort of binary spark system or something and half of his spark is in his head or something... There are a couple of transformers with spark Chambers housed in the head In the bayvers, And I suppose a binary spark could explain how Megatron keeps turning into Galvatron in so many continuities...

    In my version--
    • Cybertron is Primus
•Primus is the original progenitor species and doesn't turn into a giant humanoid, but is In fact a radiophagic space magic amoeba from a parallel dimension with different energy physics (explaining the space magic)
    .
    • Unicron is his brother
    .
    • Their kind are living metallic planetoids that feed on natural planets for their radioactive materials.
    .
    • Primus chose to orbit a star for a peaceful existence as he created cybertronians, forcing himself into a gradual reduction of energy over time until he became chronically asleep.
    .
    • Cybertronians are in fact modeled after humans, but prehistoric ones, and this was because primus, in his words, "just finds them neat".
    .
    • Cybertronians are biological at their cores, but also carry space magic ghosts to their life forces due to the physics of the materials primus made them with.
    .
    • Cybertronian physiology is essentially dual form metal origami but a living organism that feeds on radioactive material/rays the way their father does.
    .
--- It's a fusion of multiple lores, grounded in as much real science as possible, and the goal of the entire thing is to do what the current "aligned" continuity can't.

I think it was fine for the first 3, Transformers fans can piece it together. THe Allspark somehow exists, it brought life to the Transformers. In fact the movie comics actually flesh it out more and make a prety unique and interesting backstory for the films. It's TF4 where it started actually getting messy, but at least we can just say the "Creators" simply used the Seed devices to make the metal I assume from the organic creatures around the Earth, then the Allspark brought that metal somehow to life. It's TF5 where it gets complicated because by this point it contradicts even the movie comics, or at the very least they give us potential new details by Quintessa who I assume is the leader of the "Creators", or was at one point, the problem comes down to not giving us enough info to actually place roughly chronologically when the Knights and Quintessa happened, and even then the Knights call her "The Great Deciever", meaning what she says may just be lies or half truths. Mor emovie comics or a TF 6 could have hopefully set the rcord straight, but by now it's too late, so it's up to your own headcanon how it all fits together. I've rationalized a decent headcanon, but alot of it involves adding my own personal details pulled from other Transformers media.

I like how the comics tie things together 2007 and ROTF. Although the Allspark can create life, its powers aren't unlimited. It created the Primes to go to other star systems to generate fuel to recharge it and keep making Cybertronians. The Allspark crashed on Earth because it was drawn to the last Star Harvester in existence. The comics also clarify that the Prime war and the Autobot/Deception one were two different conflicts. Megatron was coerced into starting his by an imprisoned Fallen whispering ideas of grandeur in his ears.
There's a lot of potential for a good story with these movies. It's just a shame they didn't have the team needed to make it all coherent.

About unicron and primus, (yes cybertron is a live bot) they are siblings. They are basically Gods created along time and space, and tge all spark is basically Primus 'heart' and he is the one that gives life. Unicron is the one that brings death.

The films are a mess but it's funny how the points you chose to talk about from the 1st film are some that can easily be explained.
For example Megatron speaks English because he was conscious all the time but unable to function and move properly due to being frozen.
Also the Cube killed him because they shoved it into his own spark or whatever it's called that's located at their chest. No idea why but apparently that area is highly sensitive.

Thank you for explaining this mess. Towards the end there it was no longer a Transformers movie. Hasbro threw their hands in the air and were like what are we supposed to do with this? Transformers was supposed to be about the toys first. What a lost opportunity to bring in some cool new caricatures.

Many people say that the Last Knight isn’t canon to the first three movies, but there’s a scene in the climax of TLK that disapproves this. When Cybertron is approaching Earth, we can see it scrape off pieces of the moon, revealing the Ark from the third movie. Then, we see some of it hit the pyramid of Egypt where the Star Harvester was in the second movie. So, like it or not, the fifth movie IS canon to the trilogy (and by extension, AOE).

I must disagree on the The Fallen part: "Only a Prime could defeat him" is actually depicted pretty accurately. I think it was clear that he literally waited until the last Prime is dead and he woke up moments after Megatron caught Prime off guard (looking for Sam) and killed him. The Fallen would have gotten away with his entire thing if it wasn't for those damn kids ruining everything, resurrecting Prime and giving him upgrades on top. It is not that the Fallen couldn't do shit, it is about Prime just being so much better at fucking everything and we see this so very often, Prime brutally finish his enemies in Mortal Kombat Fatality Style on daily basis so of course the Fallen would shlt his pants on spot

The most likely reason as to why they didn't revive jazz is because Optimus Prime knew he wanted to buy time for the rest of the autobots to save more citizen, and to prevent more people from dying. Jazz decided to go up against Megatron to help his allies defeat Megatron, and since Optimus knew it was his choice. He let him rest in peace instead of reviving him, because back then, he wasn't a psychopathic murder who loves ripping enemies faces off

    • @therealloomar

But... But he still would have sacrificed himself to buy everyone some time
If he got revived, it's not like Megatron would've won. The autobots still defeated him. Just now they could bring their dead friend back to life
But they just leave him turn in two lmao

The reason behind Megatron being able to speak english is subtly hinted at (or not at all hinted at but I’ll choose to look at the scene in a positive matter to give the movie some wins), as when he awakens from cryostasis, he corrects the humans constant usage of the term NBE-1. This indicates that while still being frozen, he was able to hear what the humans around him were saying, and thus probably adapted to the language. If his audio receptors were unfrozen, his language adapting features probably weren’t either. Also some other stuff that seems like plotholes just because they weren’t explained, can still be explained. (Not enough to the point where there still aren’t major problems that fuck the movie so I won’t waste my time on them. The megatron thing was cooler.)
