Not sure if the writers misunderstood Walker. The wrote a great grey area character why are you acting like they did it on accident. You’re citing scenes that prove he is a hero deep down and acting like the writers didn’t write those scenes lol. That being said Sam was such a terrible character in this show. Bucky was fine but a bit boring. Pretty much everything outside Walker was boring and terrible

I like your video. But, I gotta defend Fable 3 😅 Those choices you make can be remedied by using your own gold to fight the Darkness. While you have a point about subjective morality, that’s not necessarily the argument. It’s not, should you send the children to work, or should you send them to school; it’s should you send them to work, or keep your promise, and find a way to pay for it yourself. Underrated channel

The Fable 3 comparison is your weakest one I believe. It seems like the intention of the developers was to show that even though "good" choices seem obvious, they aren't always. Some good choices have unintended consequences. Now I dont think that they nailed delivering that message to the player. The difference for Falcon and Winter soldier is that the writers intended to make a character look bad but instead did the opposite. Which seems to miss the mark much more than the intent of Fable 3.

I know that this will never happen, because it'd be marvel admitting their mistakes, but I now wish John gets a spinoff where he becomes a vigilante and works his way to redeem himself in the eyes of the public.

I don't have a rebuttal for the others but for Red-Hood & Batman I do Bruce Wane has unresolved trauma that he is dealing with in a bad way (brutalizing what he deems responsible for it) & he recognizes that because of that he is mentally unstable so he placed mental blockers to cover that aria for him like the Joker said (paraphrasing) "you really think a man who dresses up in a bat suit to fight crime is sane" also if you look at Batman Beyond when Bruce is getting too old to do the job "some lucky punk" manages to get the upper hand on Batman & out of desperation Bruce pulls a gun on him he refused to put the suit back on after that Bruce knows that the moment Batman kills someone like that Batman is dead as well

7:00 I kind of took that scene to mean more directly as to why John Walker doesn’t fit the role of Captain America, rather than some allegory for abuse of power from authority. In the reasons you mentioned, you justified John’s murder because of the death of his friend, he was “armed” and the fact that these are criminals who cause chaos and violence. Even then, Steve Rogers would’ve still spared this man and that’s the point. Steve has killed don’t get me wrong he literally fought in world war 2. However even if it was a terrorist who killed his best friend, for example Bucky, i don’t imagine Steve just bashing his face in with the shield out of impulsive rage in public like that, especially with the man surrendering at the end. I understand how someone’s mindset after having a friend killed by a criminal would make them kill that criminal I mean it makes sense, but that is not the Ideal Captain America. As Dr. Erskine said, he chose Steve not because he’s a good soldier, but a good man.

Heck, HBO’s Last of Us is a perfect example of how a World War Z series could work. The Bill and Frank episode was one of the best, and it was essentially a contained love story and how they lived in the post apocalypse world.

I feel like it’s an Uphill Battle for DC no matter what, people automatically hate their movies no matter their quality. Unless it’s a Batman movie of course.

Honestly, I think the biggest issue I have with the novel is that it wound up creating a ton of misconceptions about military strategy. If I had nickel for every time I heard "working thinker and some mobility" to explain how the US military would lose to slow-moving corpses, I'd be rich... my favorite bit of the movie is a point that is kinda hilarious in comparison to the book. Right at the end you see the Army watching a bunch of zombies flock around a radio in a stadium... and they proceed to blow it up with a missile, meaning they understood and figured out the fact zombies are attracted to noise. In the novel, the chapter on dogs explains how a random Retriever got the idea to run up a building and start barking so the zombies in other buildings came out and fell off, and apparently *no one* had thought to try that before even though characters were constantly noting how dumb zombies were, and the narrator of that chapter explains how a dog inspired the Army to do that to clear cities. Don't get me wrong, World War Z is incredibly well written and researched for a bunch of other aspects... but *not* military ones, and that's my biggest gripe with it.

Ngl i feel like SOMEONE on the writing team knew what they were doing, maybe a writer, maybe it was a director or editor, but its just all too perfect, like you'd think somewhere they'd write in him being an asshole or justifying the way he's treated and it just never happens, i really think someone saw the garbage they were given and decided to make something actually interesting and work in their own story

Funny thing is, I find that this series shows just how correct Iron man was in civil war. The falcon and winter soldier are both unregulated, and so go around essentially _ruining_ everything Walker does.

One scene you don't get because you prob have trouble with subtlety is when Pery tells Lois she's suspended for leaking the story, and then THREATENEED to punish her more for being agreeable-- He said that because he expected her to yell and be angry with him for this, but she's being all chill about it which makes him feel like she's hidding something, so he said that cause she's lying to him-- but he calms down and tells her that even if she's hidding the real reason he's fine w this, he thinks it's the right choice.-- Basically "I know you are hiding something"

Senator Kelly in my opinion is NOT a sympathetic straw man. An understandable one maybe? Sure. But mutants in general have powers they can control. Its very similar to the gun debate. Senator kelly blames people's powers for their actions instead of their actions.

Yeah, they tried to make Sam and Bucky the heroes, but instead made Sam and Bucky seem like the bad guys in this show. Especially when they don't want to help Walker who's just trying to do the right thing and help his country. Steve Rogers would actually like John Walker, and disapprove of Sam and Bucky's methods.

Okay, here's the only I was thinking about with the whole "the virus avoids weaknesses" argument you were making: that's not what's stated in the movie. There is ONE other notable moment in the movie you just completely ignored: that final sequence in the lab. The theory that was being tested was that if you're infected with some other disease/infection, it would act as a sort of camouflage. Remember, Jerry infected himself with some virus that was being kept at that lab, waited for it to spread through his body, then tested to see if the zombies would attack. It's implied in those scenes you mentioned that the individuals are sick with something else, and thus weren't attacked since they were already sick with something else. Roanoke Gaming did a whole video on this and (according to his theory on the matter) the virus portrayed in the movie and game basically tries identifying if a subject is "worth infecting" in the first place. It's complicated, but the basics is that, since instinct takes over, it tries to identify worthwhile hosts through scent. An individual with some kind of ailment gives of a slightly different scent that would signal to the virus that the sick host isn't worth the effort of infecting. I highly recommend his video so you can come to your own conclusion, but I digress.

But they went down harder because the fans were pissed that James Gunn (The p*d0Phile) got involved, for one he got rid of Henry after the fans were so happy for his return. And let's be real Gunn planned this like a jerk. Back before he got in control of DC. He said in his Suicide Squad film that Bloodsport injured Superman, but he said "not sure which Superman" HE PLANNED THIS! that guy is a jacka$$. Look Black Adam may have failed. But the films went don't much more in box office because of the stunt Gunn pulled. Not to mention his lies and how hypocritical he is. So he can keep his cast from his show Peacemaker (THAT WERE IN THE DCEU) But he wouldn't give Henry, Ben, or Gal another go? Fuckin hypocritical

You have essentially pointed out an extremely common, even fundamental, bug/flaw in comic book ethics since the earliest days of the media form. It ia currently being utilized wholesale in Hollywood. Faulty morality, recognizable as such by the reader, is held up as the ideal of ethics by the writer. Eventually readers-- and viewers-- depart.

Lol, 'You're wrong about Fable, because if you completely break the narrative and spend over a year in-game grinding for loot only to selflessly donate it all for the good of the kingdom while the apocalyptic evil just sits on its ass for no in-game reason then you can totally win without ever making a single compromise, unlike that evil guy who couldn't magically stop the apocalypse while he frolicked through the flowers, explored dungeons, and became the landlord for half the bloody kingdom! Why didn't he just do what you could? He must be dumb, and evil!' I'm reminded of the Asmongold Quote of 'You can't logic someone out of a position they didn't logic themselves into.' He's wrong, as a large number of people can put aside their feelings when presented with evidence, but some people have made their decision, pride themselves on their decision making, and thus take anyone telling them they're wrong as a _personal_ attack, and react thusly.

The Don situation is even worse, as she's not just immune, his wife is a _carrier,_ so even if he'd somehow fought off all the zombies, unarmed, without getting infected himself, gotten to her, and saved her, when, escaping, and relieved, he kissed the woman he loved, he would've turned into a rage zombie 30 seconds later... You know, _The Inciting Incident of The Entire Movie._

The movie never makes you pick a side. You can view jason as a tragic fall from grace or the tragic result of batman's inaction. but the only person superman outright kills is zod (after repeatedly and explicitly told he will never stop and supes and no knowledge of a way to imprison him) and using a scene of collateral damage in a fight scene is kinda misleading not defending black adam or anyone else jn this case only superman at lease he is using the appropriate force on an appropriate opponent unlike wonder woman
