Oh shut up honestly.
@@seanmma5771 Go to bed

When I picture his ma' I see conor mcgreggor in a wig 😂😂
when he mentioned his team leaving him before the most important fight of his early career you could see pain in his eyes, he has proven them wrong, man has a bright future.
he didnt pay his coaches and he was being disrespectful then he got got abandoned
@@shanewhelan1906 yeah i always figured it wasn’t a one sided story i heard his fiancé is also his manager and that caused a lot of drama in the gym.
@@shanewhelan1906 how do you know?
sounds like he's a selfish entitled crybaby. they left bc he treated them lime dirt. his 50 yr old wife runs his entire life
That was not pain... That was him recollecting what happened then shaking it off.
This is unreal I remember fighting Ian at a judo Dan grading about 5 years ago in Dublin. Fella whooped my ass😂😂 you could tell he was a natural fighter but very respectable and friendly outside the mat. Wish him all the best 👊🏼
Is he good at judo?
@@MuayThai_Don Well he’s a Judo black belt, but gave up Judo very shortly after getting his Dan grade, that said he had very nice Judo
He needs to learn how to wrestle now, when he's young. The last UFC event is proof how crucial it is
Oh yea. Grappling and wrestling.
lmao yeah but it don't put on a show. He on the right path if he wanna get paid.
Them Russians really evolved the MMA style .
@@craigman7262 what??
@@craigman7262 Nah dude, you don't learn to wrestle well enough and you're not on any path but a downfall these days.

the moment he steps in the octagon with someone that can maul, he'll realise he should've listened to his mum. in his weightclass he'll never touch anything close to a belt. this whole video was basically him talking about boxing. train derail waiting to happen.
@@kingk7884 did you not see him grapple with jack grant?😂he outgrappled him,Ian’s also a judo black belt his grappling is underrated just because he doesn’t use it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it,plus now he’s at sandford MMA best believe he’s working hard on his grappling, jack grant is a top level submission specialist and couldn’t do anything to Ian,if anything Ian was more dangerous on the ground in that fight, and Ian looked like he could fight 5 more rounds at after finishing 25 mins

Absolutely love that quote, he needs that self belief! I've been all in on this bloke for a while. I reckon he goes far in the UFC!🤜🤛All the best to The Future.

I'd love to see another addition to a great collection of Irish athletes over the years
@Seydou Kone did you forget the part where he is 23 he is a WW will unlimited potential to grow in a sport he's only being doing for 4/5 years
@Seydou Kone who are you to say how far someone can go...? Are you a fortune teller, can you predict the future..? Truth is, you don't know sh*t. Quit hating on this kid, you have no idea how far he can go if he puts his mind to it. Khamzat has a hard time making weight at 170 anyways, doubt he will be there for much longer.
@Seydou Kone that's ridiculous give him time to grow and fight lower level guys. Khamzat is going to fight top 10 guys. Totally different level so no reason to compare the two. Maybe in 4-5 years.
His parents depressing as hell smh glad for his success
I’m sure they’re eating their words now.
It’s because mma is still unknown to the older Irish generation. Of course they didn’t think there would be a future for him
Parents actually do this on purpose because we know you'll go for it more once told no.

Glad to see another Irish lad in the UFC but his team up and leaving him seems a bit sus
They said he had a ego problem but this is fighting who cares ? It’s bogus what they did to him
Could be. Or the team could just be weird.
Now hes at sanford so probably was a benefit for the kid. Gym of killers would help an ego problem if that was there. Think he’ll fare well in his career
He won without the team, who cares
Any team that leaves a fighter that close to a championship fight was trying to tank the kid. And no good team would do that even if they had a serious problem with there fighter they would give them that last fight beings it was so close.
In a world that lacks a lot of genuine nature and truly interesting backstories, this guy is something to watch. Eire potentially being on the rise again is just an added bonus. 🇮🇪

Great video. Solid introduction. Can't wait to see what this kid does.
This story was super captivating omfg. This guys a slayer in the cage and with the women ahah. The part about his team abandoning him caught me so off guard and had me flustered, the fact that he had no one but one of his mates to corner him and still went out and executed his game plan is phenomenal especially in a tittle fight like are u kidding me. Well done brother, cant wait to see your fight Saturday

All the best kid!! Keep grinding, you’re at the right place at the right time!! 🙌🏼
UFC has the best series. There are so many to choose from
What an amazing story....gets abandoned by his team but still comes out stronger
His footage from cage warrior is pretty damn awesome. I gotta admit that. He made his point, now just focus on being himself. Things will fall into place organically just be staying true to yourself. Don't let anything alter you, or make you try and be something your not. Your natural talent got u here. Keep following that.

Wish this young man the best
I don't want to be a buzz kill, but making into the UFC is just the first step. I've seen so many young fighters get a contract and just disappear, then become broke and bitter. I wish him the best, I just hope he measures his expectations.
things have kind of changed in regards to people showing up without being vetted. almost everyone debuting in the UFC now, has to be on a 6 fight streak or they don't get in.
There are clearly people brought in to lose a fight, like the poor kid they threw to sugar shane(which should absolutely not be happening) , but the kids getting multifight deals, have to prove they belong there. 1 loss can keep you out of the bigshow after going on a 5 fight run
Paddy played it well, turned them down twice because he said he wasn't ready. He didn't want to come in too soon and get beaten then disappear. Then cage warriors paid him a mega contract to stay the second time around
@@ChargedWords this is true.

I need to hear more about the whole "team abandoned me" thing. How exactly does that happen. Whatd he do to piss them off?
"Some of the values that we openly promote are loyalty, honour and respect. Where an individual no longer abides by these values, and expects special privelages in regards to their contribution to the club, that individual will be informed that their position as a team member is untenable. No one individual is bigger than the overall welfare and safety of the team.
With that in mind Ian Garry was informed that he was no longer a member of the club, after repeated warnings regarding his behavior to other team mates and his coaches..."

@@Saul1913 their statement said his fiancee became his manager and things went downhill from there. It says he was putting himself before other fighters, wanting special treatment, also apparently there were safety issues and that he put other fighters at risk and they let him go because he had become uncoachable. So yes, it was pay, but also apparently the kid had a very big ego and acted above everyone. That being said, well, yeah. He was above everyone, he was fighting for a championship. He's in Sanford training with Brunson and Chandler he should improve rapidly
He has fairly good wrestling if you seen the jack grant fight
He's actually a decent wrestler. There's definitely holes but if you can beat jack, you are good because Jack's beaten some guys that are killers on the ground at Cage Warriors.
Decent doesn’t cut it though if he wants to be welterweight champion. The division is wrestling/grappling heavy with Usman, Covington, Khamzat, etc. having a lifetime of wrestling experience. Even Burns, who has world class BJJ, couldn’t handle with Usman’s grappling.
This guy could easily be a top 5 welterweight. He is huge for welterweight and has great ground skills and stand-up and is only 23 and at Sanford, that's a good mix right there
Top 5 ? Calm down
No no top 15 maybe even then it’s a lot in a wrestling heavy division
