Hello Doug, Simon's pediatrician here. You might remember I took some blood tests a few days ago and we got the results back. It turns out Simon has no blood, just olive oil. Never in my 30 years of doctoring have I seen something like this and frankly, I am terrified.
Wouldn't that mean that olive oil kept Simon alive? Well I guess I'll take the shot

For the curious ones, here's the long story short of Emanule Filiberto di Savoia.
His grand-grandfather helped the fascist to take power in Italy, so after the war Italy got rid of the useless monarchy and exiled all the family. In 2002 they were allowed to come back after relinquish any pretence of taking they're power back.
The fact is that these jerks keep using they're titles (that mean constitutionally literally nothing) and using it to remain relevant as public figures (mostly like showmans at this point). Also they damand compensation for they're exile and recently they requested the "restitution" of the crown jewels.
If you're still not convinced just know that they distanced themselves from the fascist's racial laws just in 2002 for the first time, 57 years after the end of the war, when they had to return in Italy.
That is why they're hated by most and how they became the jesters of our democratic court.

To give another piece of the story, he's indeed a descendant of the royal family but he's not 100% entitled to inherit the title of '''King''' (as stated in the comment above, he's not to be considered a king, being the title absent in the constitution). Why? Well, during the 70s, the dad of the guy in the video - Vittorio - fell in love with a lady who wasn't noble. Italian princes can't marry a lady coming from the bourgeoisie, but kings can. So, Vittorio decided to proclaim himself king, claiming that his dad Umberto abdicated. As a response, his dad proceeded to cut Vittorio from the family, claiming that his heirs are no longer able to inherit any title. Technically, the titles should have gone to the cousin of Umberto, Amedeo. Nonetheless, Vittorio refused to accept such situation and claimed the titles for himself, creating a dispute that is continuing till nowadays.
On top of this Vittorio is rather a '''''peculiar''''' character, having been charged with weapon trafficking, corruption and exploitation of prostitution. Oh, he killed a young German boy too!

That Ankh was the most clutch thing in the run, I was sure Doug was gonna screw up by standing on that one block and he did and I was so sad, but then he got revived and I'm pretty sure we all breathed a collective sigh of relief.
As much as I love watching people who are very good at this game play it, it's very relatable to see somebody normal completely freaking out from the insane stress that this game puts you through.
been to italy, can confirm everybody is fully drenched in olive oil and that it is a federal offence not to be if you decide to visit italy, and in customs when you get back to the US they have special olive oil cleaners that pressure wash you for 7 whole hours

As a spainard I must defend Doug's olive oil adiction because, maaaan, have you ever taken some goood spanish extra-virgin olive oil, its soooo tasty that some restaurants put it as a ¿starter? Gambling on Dougs Spelunky streams is genuinely super fun and suspensefull, it always hits just the right gambling buttons in my brain without any actual risk.
Spelunky is genuinely one of my favorite games and I'm happy to see doug play it.

As someone who was on a low carb diet for a while, here's a couple quick meals I used to eat in the past, starting with the fastest.
Plain yogurt, mixed with berries and a tiny splash of vanilla extract.
You can buy low carb tortillas at some grocery stores, a bit more pricey than regular flour tortillas, but taste almost the same. Make a quesadilla, dip in salsa or guacamole.
Apologies in advance to any Italians, I only did this when I was VERY desperate: Low carb tortilla, pizza sauce, cheese, whatever toppings you like, put it in the microwave or the oven until the cheese melts
Thinly slice a zucchini, sprinkle with salt to draw out the excess moisture, let sit as you preheat a pan with some olive oil over medium high heat. Once the pan is hot enough, drain the water given off by the zucchini, fry the zucchini until soft, toss with the sauce of your choice, I liked pesto.
