ON CLOUDBOOM ECHO 3 - Long Run Shoe Test - A HALF or FULL MARATHON SHOE? | EDDBUD
Today I tested the ON CLOUDBOOM ECHO 3 over an 12 mile or 19 km ish distance in some dry and still conditions with around 18c temps. Very humid out there!
Lots of HALF MARATHON paced effort today as i build the weekly mileage up. Got to balance out the effort as best you can with 2 weeks to go before the Manchester Half Marathon.
I discuss the upper, midsole and outsole performance on what is a switch up route with more pace for me on a longer run.
Overall a worthy inclusion to the super shoe rotation, this is a shoe that has been sent to me by ON though they are not vetting my views before you my valued views see them.

Hi All, just ran the geneva marathon in 3:30 with the on boom. Was very good. I don t understand why everybody says it s a half marathon shoe even before testing it on marathon …. It helped to keep my running form while I never experienced any pain. I tested the saucony pro 4 during my prep as a possible alternative and I found it much too soft and less fast actually. I definitely made the right choice with the on which on top sizes a bit bigger and that helps preventing blisters while the saucony was squeezing my feet a bit. Hole it helps.
Find these true to size and for me the slightly firmer feel seems to work better for me at shorter distances.

@@EDDBUD yeah, GARMIN 02-56-33 Vs ME 02-51-05. Go for it Edd, you can beat your Garmin too…it feels even better than beating your Sat Nav.
I look at my Garmins race predicter and just assume it has some sort of learning disability.

Feeling good this morning. Though the wife and lad have a cold. It’s ok though, I can just stay in a hotel near the airport for a few days.

Same. I've never really got on with any of their shoes in the past, however being honest I haven't tried any of the latest models, Cloudsurfer 7 etc...

To be fair, these shoes have had some good results in triathlon.
