- So here we are, at the end of a very well documented year.
It's amazing to see all of the new lambs and calves 2018 has brought to the farm, and even more incredible to see the how much everything now looks similar to January. The jobs, the weather and the enthusiasm of Sarah!
December (unsurprisingly) was cold, which troubled our hands and more importantly - a lot of the machinery.
We also managed to surprise Sarah with an early Christmas present, it's not something many of us have ever wanted, though I'm sure you'll agree in saying - she was very excited!

Absolutely loved watching this series. I see your mum at market from time to time and it’s nice to see how she farms rather than just seeing the stock she brings in to sell. I really hope you do another year on the farm in the future.

I’ve watched the whole year. This series has inspired me to go into agriculture. I leave school in may and I have gotten into askham Bryan collage to do agriculture. Thank you for the inspiration. Loving the videos

vasmoon . Glad to have been a sub to this series... We're old farmers ourselves. Used to tend 360 acres, now down to 100. I'm fascinated by the different equipment, styles of tillage and approaches to the same thing - economy of motion and resources.
I think British farming faces the same challenges we do in the states. Loss of rural property to development, children leaving for a "better" life and increasing regulation by the state. But, in the end, some of use just do it for the love of the lifestyle. Cheers! Whipple

So TRUE! Our semi-truck-36, bulldozer-72, our track loader-66, Case 1194-28, backhoe-52, pickup truck-36, our newest ‘Sunday go to meeting’ car-15 years. I just finished building an animal hauler box on the back of a well worn trailer..so that’s the newest thing..but it was built out of 99% bits and bobs left over from other tasks or left behind by the previous owners of this farm..holds 1400lbs of sheep and can travel at byway speed for days on end..total cost?-$22.00 and the electricity for the welder! Throwing away is a very new idea..I’m not that new.
Thanks for another great video. I’d love to come visit when we finally (maybe) take our retirement trip to Ireland, Scotland & London..for the old book shops! Maybe when politicians quit making decisions based on fear and greed? Yeah..probably not soon...

Sarah is brilliant absolutely brilliant.Ru is also great, not a farmer himself by the looks but he does a great job narrating the series and I guess has a hand in producing it. Absolutely have loved this series! Watched it all in about 2 nights after I discovered it and loved every bit of it. It's really inspired me further to give farming a proper go whenever I get the chance, and hopefully one day have my own 😁

I'm not a farmer so to see what your mother does day in day out not a glamorous life but the passion she has is unbelievable she is such a hard worker fair play to her.

What a treasured family record you have of 2018 you have for the new grandchild. Make multiple copies and store in different formats and places. This is already a treasured family heirloom.
BTW we have 14 hours 24 mins daylight today (Aust.)
