I don't expect much when I spend $80 on a sword, or in this case, a naginata. Here's an unboxing, assembly, and initial impressions video all rolled into one.
This naginata was purchased from the Sword Buyer's Guide store: sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-...

Yeah, definitely do a follow up, do some test mats and see how that edge holds up, if you can get everything tight that is.
Given some naginata & nagimaki blades were cut down to make tanto or cheap swords if the handle on this is crap you could make an authentic asigaru sword as 1045 steel is likely close to what many mass infantry weapons were made of any way.
looks awfuly similar to the hanwei version in terms of furniture, so interesting.
It's a project!
Don't say anything about them still having a active order you might get a second one and the real question is how's the temper of the blade
Taking it apart might be interesting considering how bloody hard it was to assemble. 😅
It'll likely take some selective percussive force to disassemble.
That is interesting, thank you for sharing. What kind of oil and cloths do you use for your blades?
I use Singer all purpose machine oil. amzn.to/47Hyii7
The cloths are just random small towels I've accumulated over the years.
What are those mounts in the background?
