I live in a post Soviet country and I can say that it's a common thing around to see this professional manicure on any lady whether she's a schoolgirl or a business woman. It is a surprise for me to know that it's not like this in other countries 🤭
It is hard to find someone that will do the service. It was almost 2 years before I could find someone in Arizona to do it. One person said there is no such thing. I laughed as this is how I had been getting my nails done from my first trip to the salon at 11. Comes down to lazy nail techs want big tips without doing the service requested.
It’s illegal in some American states to remove the cuticle. In my state we can inky push them back.

Cutting off your cuticles makes your nails more susceptible to getting an infection. Your cuticles aren’t there for no reason, they have a job.
Furthermore, when you do cut off the cuticles, the grow back way more jagged than they were before.

Love the look of a Russian manicure. Unfortunately a lot of states regulate how much of the cuticle should be removed making a lot of professionals scared to attempt this technique.
So crisp and clean!! They have the perfect manicures and they get sooooo close to the cuticle when polishing!! BRAVO

It’s really not. I do this for my own cuticles and they are so nice. It makes normal manicures look crusty.

@@Dandelion_flight it's not a live tissue , it's a calloused hem of the cuticle lol if it's done by a certyfied nail tech it does not hurt at all

I love the clean-cut look. It just looks so neat that you took the time and manicured your hands. Some people find it time consuming. I find it very much time consuming for ones self if they care about their hands because I certainly do. Even when am bored, I manicure my own hands and pedicure my own feet as well. Look like I just stepped out of the nail salon.

Actually, it’s a standard manicure in Russia. Nothing less is acceptable here... I was really surprised when I saw manicures from other countries - they were a kind of unprofessionally done

I know the cutting part is a bit contraversial but I'm used to it..it's how I like to do it and I never let anyone else do it on me but me. So it's not this that bothers me. It's how much is being cut. This is taking away skin that doesn't look bad in the first place. It looks odd in the end...too overdone. The nail looks like it literraly sunk in the finger.

This isnt a true cuticle. Its the eponychium and its dangerous to cut it. The eponychium can also grow back thicker in a bid to protect the nail matrix better, just leading to a viscous cycle.
Just push and moisturizer your nail and suroundjng skin regularly, and you eponychium will stay hydrated and much more manageable
omg calm down, in Russia and in the CIS countries every second girl does such nails. I live here and have never seen anyone get an infection from a manicure.

That varies from state to state. There are plenty of techs in the US trained in this service, perfectly legally.
