    I had this same identical one. And traded it for a snow mobile. Wish I had my tiller back

    I'm in Crosby Texas , I had the identical pony . Engine Caling and all . I bought it in Crestview;Florida in 1997 . And later moved to upstate NY . I traded it for a Snow Mobile my neighbor had up there. But 3 years later I ended up moving back to Florida. And went by to see if he wanted to trade back. And he wasn't there . But his son was. And said he had taken the moter off and put it on a racing go-cart and blew up the moter. It was sad to hear that news . It was in beautiful show room condition. I always kept it that way. I'd love to find another one. In the condition yours is in . I won't let it go next time. One of my regrets in life

      Damn. That’s sucks. Just mention ur looking for a tiller to everyone u talk to. Someone will eventually know where u can buy a good used one. Good luck.

      hey, don't regret, you can still get an identical one if you look around, and they're not too expensive. they seem to be quite reliable still, but suffer from the same problems as most gas lawnmowers - they seem to need carb restoration after long storage. sometimes you can prolong the storage life by using gas stabilizer and doing some other winterization measures. go get another one if it's the machine you liked!

    How deep do you run your drag bar? Do you ever change the depth?

    • @Elveshelves
      @Elveshelves  Před 2 lety

      Start shallow and go back over deeper. If the machines seems like it’s trying to buck you to death it too deep. Lol. Soil conditions will let u know how deep is too deep

      Dont run it too deep. Multiple passes going deeper each pass. Cheers.

    nice vidio , do the tines rotate backwards also?

    • @Elveshelves
      @Elveshelves  Před 3 lety +2

      No, this model has forward rotating tines. It makes things interesting when I hit a hard object hidden in the dirt...kind of launches the tiller forward real fast. lol.

      @@Elveshelves I have the same tiller and was making a new garden on some sod ground and had the same thing happen lmao never got whiskey throttle from a tiller till then. Thing bout rips your arms off 🤣 pulls harder than any dog on a leash. No wonder they call it the pony. Feels like your getting dragged by one when it does a tine wheelie hahaha

      @@colefarley7976 I found that running it shallower with multiple passes make it way more controllable. Its a good unit.

    I touch the throttle and the thing takes off on me. Here you are using one hand.

    • @Elveshelves
      @Elveshelves  Před 2 lety

      Best advice I can give is start very shallow and do multiple passes. If u go too deep too soon it will be a battle no doubt. Good luck!

      Once the soil is broken down like in the video. You can ust one hand. If it's hard ground , it will try to take off on ya. I've had it happen several tims

    Is it hard to work it in, in hard ground

    • @Elveshelves
      @Elveshelves  Před 2 lety +1

      The trick is to take multiple passes, going a little deeper each time. That makes it much easier.
