Look at Tottenham's fixtures in April. Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool & Newcastle back-to-back!. If Villa finish win the Europa Conference League and quality for the Champions League Unai Emery should get Manager Of The Season. He's got a paper thin squad and has lost Kamara, Buendia and Mings due to ACL's. Ramsey, Torres, Carlos, Moreno, Tielemans, Digne, Durán and now Cash have been out for a number of games. And in comparison to the other Top 8, Emery has spent under £90m since taking over, the vast majority of that on Moussa Diaby and Pau Torres. What he has done is massively improve the players who were already there:-Luiz, McGinn, Bailey & Watkins.

What's wrong with O'Neil? Did a terrific job with Bournemouth and has done an amazing job with Wolves spending nothing and only selling. Bent brought up Haaland not breaking Shearer’s EPL goal scoring record. If Haaland actually stays in England his whole career, he would absolutely obliterate Shearer’s 260 goal record. It took Shearer 441 games to score 260 goals. Haaland has 54 EPL goals in only 58 games. Shearer scored .5896 goals per EPL game while Haaland is averaging .9310 goals per game. If you took Shearer’s 441 appearances and multiplied that by Haaland’s current goal rate, that’s 411 goals. Haaland is on a whole other level from Shearer. It’s not even close.
The issue is that Bent, and most other people, don't believe he will be there long enough. Its not about if his capable or not. His obviously capable. But he would need to stay in the country for long enough. Realistically, assuming limited injuries (so averaging 35 games per season, which is slightly above the amount his averaging at the moment) it would take 8 seasons to hit the required goals (assuming he continues scoring at the same rate). No-one thinks he will be here for that long. We all expect that in a couple of years, he will head to Madrid.
Thats the reason why people think he won't break the record.
