Can you review ATC 25's and Neumann KH310....how would you compare them with the Focal Trio?!?...Also Dynaudio LYD 48. Thanks....looking forward for it. P.s. what would be a very good monitor for EDM, electro, psytrance, techno....production and mix. Everyone talks about rock, acoustic kinda stuff, I see you bring in the hip-hop thing once in a while. Most people these days are into electronic music, no one cares that much of acoustic rock stuff, there's so much stuff out there for that genera of music, so less professional advice on gear suitable for electronic music. I was set on SM9's until now, but with this review I really wanna hear the Trio's too. I don't have a price set in mind, I don't care if the monitors are $1000 a piece or $5000 a piece as long as they do the job, that's why I asked about Dynaudio too. Also Focal just released the Shape Twins... Thanks a lot for your honest reviews !!!
Really enjoy your reviews. In saying that do you prefer these Focal's or the HEDD Type 30's in a nearfield/midfield situation?

@Techno Assassin Thanks! In the meantime I got the Focal Shapes and they are great, also no ear fatigue even when listening to them for hours and hours. But I have also watched this review of Streaky (czcams.com/video/exPFMlVRteY/video.html) and I fell in love with them. Just looking for a sponsor :D
they have to sound AMAZING for that price , not just good...
Nice review. I actually own sm9s, and at the time of purchase 1 had the chance to listen to them side by side with the trios. Comparison was in favour of the sm9s, but I depends so much on the room. And I have to admit that my ear goes naturally to a more hi-fi sound.
Thanks for your awesome videos and for sharing your knowledge with us. I've recently demo'd the solo's vs twins vs trios in my small room and the trios were just too powerful. The bass build up was way too intense for my space, so i settled for the twins instead. I also had the Solo's before and they are really amazing, but lacked the power that the twins/trios have.
one word for bass build up in small rooms : sonarworks :)

Streaky massive appreciation for your videos and explanations. Since you mix and master a lot of tracks and basically your pretty much know how songs whould sound, can you do live feedbacks on our tracks cause a lot of producers are watchin ?

Hi Streaky. I live in Qatar and I'm upgrading my Focal Twin 6's tomorrow. I like the Focal sound so Im going to stick with Focals. Im having a hard time making up my mind between the SM9's and the Trio's. I mainly mix hip hop and rnb. With that being said, I want a good bass response and mid clarity. Im not too worried about loudness at the moment. Do you really think the Trio's are better than the SM9's? I will purchase Sonarworks. Thanks for the tip!
Carlos Brown yes I’ve used both and I think the trios sound better as they have less boom...sonarworks has a lack Friday deal on in the next few days so you might want to wait for that :) let me know how you get on...

I was thinking on these or sm9 as an upgrade from my focals cms65 I need something louder, I used them for tracking and mixing mainly. I love focal sound.

@@tytansoundlab You’ll will not regret switching to the neumanns. They are a huge step up from the Adams . I have owned the A7x myself, lovely speakers, but when it comes to mix-translation in the real world I think the KH310 just brutally wins.

I wonder how these compare to Focal's Aria floorstanders. I only heard Focal Twins and I like them a lot. Smooth, yet open sounding, but I'm after hi-fi floorstanders and I'm very curious how Arias compare to Focal's studio range. Some say their hi-fi range is even better. Do you have any experience with them?
Painful when I heard you damaged the $1,000 tweeter, would have dreaded making that call to Focal!
nice review couldn't agree more with your review. I had the Sm9 and barefoot mm27 but to me the Trios where better. One of the best speakers under 10 grand.
What do you think about focal trio6 vs barefoot footprint 01? Of course 27's are better than F01, but 27's r out of my budget. What do u feel about barefoot and focal sound signatures overall?
What monitors had you bought? Now Im finding more info about the F01 vs Focal Trio or vs Neuman KH310! I have seen the Manual Guide of the Barefoot Footprint 01 comparing between the MM27 an looks like to be very similar! the frequency range and the components. What you recommend?
Hi there! I've ended up with Adam S3V's. I suggest you wait for upcoming Streaky's review of them. He finds them quite good. In short words, S3V or S3H stand out from other competitors in this price range. They have DSP, 6 band EQ's with low/high shelves, AES digital input, RG45 dante protocol is upcoming. 25kgs cabinet carved from a stone. Competely new materials for midrange and bass drivers. It takes ut to five years before you get beryllium poisoning symptoms. It is poinsonous in the sense that is blocks certain enzymes. It takes a long time to find out. But you will have to inhale beryllium fumes to get it in the body. But it is very toxic if you get it inside your body, it just takes a very long time to find out if you are poinsoned or not.

I picked up some entry level B&W mAtrix speakers because I remembered you said you preferred that brand.
Super detailed but even with a sub the treble was a bit tinny. Preferred my paradigm speakers for general long term listening but they are amazing as a second opinion A/B switcher. Very good for hearing every nuance in the top end. Detail is more important than relaxed listening so they are a great addition.
Yeah you need to buy the high end hifi ones in the 800 range with the Nautilus tweeters to get good sounding ones...the rest are just speakers.
Please review Dynaudio monitors!

I'm considering replacing my PreSonus Sceptre S8 with these. It's about a $6500 expense.
I'm sit at my computer and that's the place (12X15 ft room Study) I'll be listening.
My S8's are now running off my iMac.
Of course, I'm hoping for a pretty big improvement on mid and hi end ranges.

Great review! Any sort of opinion on these versus new Adam S3V? They seem to be in very same price range and same size. (Trios are 8" / 5", Adams are 9" / 4").
I'm currently testing the Hedd type 30 which I will review in a couple of weeks once I've lived with them for a little bit...but on first listen the high end is unreal and they are made by the same designer as the Adam S3V so I'm going to get them over for a listen too...so I'll let you know but the tweeter is blowing my mind on the Hedd so far.

BTW from previous edition of S3X i preferred vertical S3X-V over the horizontal S3X-H. Not sure how it goes now for the new 2017 S3 series.

Streaky, I'm Loving this channel and your reviews. I am in the market for slightly used Trios or SM9's. I have seen a few for sale, where the seller states that a tweeter has small splits or cracks. This makes me nervous to buy Ebay, sight unseen. Since you were involved in an slightly ugly tweetercide incident recently, can you say what a replacement tweeter costs? (Anybody?) THANKS!!!
I had to replace my tweeter on my Trio's. I think the cost was about $240.
Thanks Carlos! By pro audio pricing standards, I would call that reasonable. As it turns out, I took the risk and ended up as the second owner of a pair of SM9's in immaculate condition.
No worries bro. How do you like the SM9's? I'm actually looking into buying a pair myself. Either the SM9's or the Unity Audio Boulder MKIII's. The Trio's sound awesome but I've always wonder how much better does the SM9's sound. lol
Carlos, Some audio people seem to prefer the Trios. I make zero claims in the golden ear department. I've only had my SM9's for two weeks, but it's hard to imagine what a better speaker could have that these don't. I did expect them to be louder at a given setting than they are. That said, I haven't gone past 70% on my Apollo output and the speakers sound like they're cruising while blowing my hair back. : )

Rick Agron hi rick, they are both great speakers but two different tweeter sounds focal has it’s smooth sound and the Adam has a really open toppy thing...you need to hear them both and see which tweeter you prefer as for the kids and lows they both do a great job there...take a listen to the Neumann’s if you can, I was really impressed with there translation, they sound boring but just work!!! Happy hunting...
Streaky First of all I love your channel bro thank you. Everybody I talk to at Sweetwater and Vintage King they swear on the focals I do have the focal 65 and love the high end on them. I do have the Newman 120s I just need a game changer for revenue capish because I am doing more rap and rock. Also have the dynaudio B.M 15 a’s.

It's difficult as they as both good speakers but have their own sound, some people love the focal sound others hate it same as Barefoot...you need to listen yourself...
