  • Barrel Sling 4 Legged How to Tie a Four Legged Barrel Sling Barrel Sling (4 Legged)
In a past video I showed how to tie a barrel sling that had 2 legs. Dan Leclair in the comment section asked, what if you want more legs? Well here it is Dan
One commenter suggest that this would be a good sling for Bear Barrels?
The 2 legged barrel sling and the 4 legged barrel sling are really easy to tie, all you need is a loop of cordage that is secured together say with a Double Fisheman's Bend Channel Handle: @KnottingKnots

Neither, just happened to stumble across barrel sling videos and curiously wanted to work out the basic concept on how a piece of string can be knotted in a certain way that turns out a barrel sling. Your video was the only one that explained all that and easy for me to conceptualise, that's all.

I’ve been watching many knot tying videos recently and stumbled on your channel. Very glad I did. I enjoy the speed at which you form the knots and the vocal step by step. Too many videos that are “tutorials” are simply some guy showing off how fast he can tie the knot and not very helpful to someone trying to learn. Cheers from Maryland, US.

@@mackenziemorgan7054 When I first found this knot, I got excited............... after a few goes, on some objects it did disappoint. I did find though, that a little dab of glue helped 😉 😉 😉

@@KnottingKnots my goal isn't something permanent. I'm looking for a way when I'm traveling, to make a little more space in my purse by hanging my water bottle from the outside. I figured if I had a length of cord on me, I could whip something up in a minute or two. I did figure out a way yesterday to quickly wrap a water bottle, but only if the bottle is hanging upside down!

@@mackenziemorgan7054 Sorry for late reply, just got notification on this. wonder if maybe another solution might be the Jury Mast Knot: igkt-solent.co.uk/jury-mast-knot/ I have seen it used as a four handed sling for lifting heavy objects, but maybe would work with your bottle issue?

I´m a practical knotter (like to know the right knot for the task at hand). In this case I had to lift some quite big and heavy flowerpots from my garden up to the balcony. Worked very well, all pots arrived in one piece!
Must check out your other videos. I´m sure there is a lot to learn. Thank you again, cheers!

Thanks for taking the time to share this information, I always love to hear about knots and cordage being used! Yes, do have a look at other knots in my collection. However, I personally do not remember all of them. As I learn them, some I keep and some are forgotten within a few days of filming, but I do know where to find them if needed 😀

I've used big pots to make hanging baskets for my strawberries, like to see the slugs get them now. Got it to work on a square pot too.

That's exactly what I am looking for.
I will be using this twice on two 5 litre containers.
As an add-on where the ropes crosse-over I will use a small cable tie to keep them in place
