  • DJI sent me the Osmo Action 4 early to test. Just in time for a big bike park road trip!
    So here are the best moments captured on this little beast of a camera.
    We put it through some tough conditions: bright & dusty, cloudy & overcast, and dark forests.
    See for yourself how the OA4 handles every scenario.
    SPOILER: It's amazing!
    I filmed everything in Ultrawide and D-Log M color profile with some basic color grading.

      Thank you for this review. I have the Action 3 and wondered how the Action 4 compared with the lighting. I noticed your settings are Rocksteady... is that Rocksteady+ or just Rocksteady?

    • @SuspensionTraveler
      @SuspensionTraveler  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Thanks@@MarkMichelleMTBMisadventures!
      That's regular RS without the +, it works just fine for me.
      Especially on bright sunny days, you can clearly see the difference to the Action 3.
      I hope with the footage in this video you can decide if that's worth upgrading for 😉

    Watching this video makes me feel like I am playing my Playstation 2 game. When I was at Junior/Senior High School, I liked playing Downhill Game in PS2.

    It is possible to set fixed shutter if for example you shoot in 60 fps to set shutterspeed to 1/120s? Camera will handle the rest or you need external ND filter?

    • @SuspensionTraveler
      @SuspensionTraveler  Před 8 měsíci

      Anything below 1/400 will require ND filters on a sunny day.
      In low light like at night or on overcast days you can get away without NDs.

  • @astipanti

    Habe gesehen, dass nicht die volle Bandbreite an Rocksteady an war. Kommt aber trotzdem gut.
    Video ist sonst komplett Raw oder noch irgendwie bisschen an Farben etc rumgespielt in der PostProduction?

    • @SuspensionTraveler
      @SuspensionTraveler  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hab alles in D-Log M aufgenommen, da kommt man ohne grading nicht aus.
      Aber ich hab nicht viel gemacht, damits natürlich rüber kommt. Sättigung rauf, evtl etwas contrast je nach Wetter und das wars.
      Hab auch eins mit komplett automatischen Settings und Rocksteady+
      czcams.com/video/A53GvhE64J8/video.html
      So siehts aus wenn man einfach einschaltet und losfilmt.

    Looks great, I just purchased a DJI 4, testet it on a motorcycle, it is kind of jumping in playback, tried with 4K 25 fps, 4K 30 fps and 4K 50 fps, the higher fps the better, but still jumping/stutter what konfiguration / settings do you use in the camera?

    • @SuspensionTraveler
      @SuspensionTraveler  Před 8 měsíci +1

      25FPS and 50FPS look more jittery in general. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by jumping playback.
      Maybe your shutter speed is just very high. In the video I had it around 320.
      You'll find the exact settings in the description and pinned comment. Hope this helps!
      How are you liking the sound while riding? Wind noise is always a big challenge on a motorbike.

    • @mixcopenhagen
      @mixcopenhagen Před 8 měsíci

      @@SuspensionTraveler Thank You for your reply. By jumping maybe it is called stuttering, film not smoot, mainly far out in the sides like trees and signs in the roadside.
      Sound is stunning, not much wind noise even with build in mic.
      I have moved up from an old Drift Ghost S, and the Action 4 is amazing, picture quality is stunning, stabilization is amazing, all in all, love the camera :-)

    • @SuspensionTraveler
      @SuspensionTraveler  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@mixcopenhagen Oh man that's a huge leap from the old camera haha
      Sounds like you're having a great time! I love it as well, it really packs a punch.
      Yeah that sounds like a high shutter speed. On the road you can go pretty low, like 240 or even 120. But on a bright day, you'll need ND filters otherwise it'll get too bright.
      In the settings blog article I'll explain in detail how to do that.

    @joeljohnson9583 Před 8 měsíci +1

    What do you use for wind reduction? Deadcats?

    • @SuspensionTraveler
      @SuspensionTraveler  Před 8 měsíci

      A piece of "windslayer" foam that's just big enough to fit over both front mics.
      And the OA4 is pretty good at wind noise reduction on it's own.

    • @SuspensionTraveler
      @SuspensionTraveler  Před 9 měsíci

      Das liegt an meinen Einstellungen. Es gibt noch eine Stufe mehr beim Rocksteady. Die bügelt alles weg.
