  • Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ | First look review from KNOX at EICMA 2022
    Welcome to our first video instalment from EICMA 2022. While we are busy exhibiting at the show, we get the chance to jump off the stand and check out some of the hottest new models for 2023! In this video we give a quick first look review of the new Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+.
    Hosting a load of new tech including radar enabled adaptive cruise control, 3rd generation quick shifter/blipper, linked braking system and a spangly new dash, although the tracer 9 GT isn’t new, we had to make special feature of the 2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT plus. With an MT09 derived engine and chassis, we’re sure it will be an amazing ride and with the new technology included, this is a really impressive new model for 2023!
    For the full spec, please see www.yamaha-motor.eu/gb/en/pro....
    Thanks for watching, please let us know what you think in the comments section, like and subscribe! We’ll see you next time!

    Imagine a Super Ténéré with all this tech! 🥴

      It’s so sad that Yamaha abandoned the SupTen updates and the offer for a modern SupTen. It would always be my first choice for a RTW bike.

      Radar tech on a Super Ten? I can see all the Yamaha forums moaning that it can't be switched off.

    the dash and that thumb stick on the left (which i assume replaces the old scroll wheel on the right hand side) would be perfect for the 2023 tracer gt. keep the adaptive cruise, phone connectivity, and 3rd gen quickshifter for the gt+ to make it worth the jump

    The Tracer (as a middle market machine) is now almost at the spec level of the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce (a ludicrously super premium bike) on its release back in 2015. The TV has had several updates since including a Rekluse base fully clutch-less transmission as a first on a road bike. Worth acknowledging that the tech you describe in this video is new to the middle market but has been around at the top of the market for a while. Also, the prototype models of both the Tracer and the BMW XR strongly resemble the production TV, imitation and flattery etc. 😆

      How many people even ride the Turismo Veloce? Where I'm from brand new MVs are like Bigfoot. Nightmare dealer network. MVs only make sense in like a handful of countries in western Europe. People ride Yamahas all over the world.

    i really have been waiting for this bike to come out, im not really bothered about the radar but its such a shame tha tthe normal GT still only has dual Dash instead of the new TFT. forcing our hands to pay over £14500 for this bike, which puts the price well into a a premium category

    If this version had been available in 2022 I'd have bought this instead of the Honda NT1100 no doubt.
    I'm not a massive fan of that automated braking, but still, the dash update, the quickshifter, better seat as far as I can see, ... I love my NT but this version of the Tracer ticks more boxes.

    You miss the important details;
    Can the adaptive function of the cruise control be de-selected? (As on some cars).
    Is the linked braking functionality only active IF the cruise control is also active?

    • @juicebomb
      @juicebomb Před rokem

      VFR has had linked brakes forever and works just fine. Hopefully there is a dumb cruise mode as well as adaptive. Being able to switch between linked and de-linked seems dreamy but likely not in the cards.

    well...this is something to be honest. I am a guzzi rider, but comparing the new v100 and this gt+ tracer, Yamaha hits something special with this bike..

  • @ehiggins7476
    @ehiggins7476 Před rokem +2

    Glad they got rid of the funny looking split screen, that's was a deal breaker for me and the reason I went with a 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX

    • @DaMeatSack
      @DaMeatSack Před rokem +1

      only the GT+ has the new dash, Does the normal GT and the normal tracer 9 still have the dual screen? the GT will cost 16.499 euros. a bit too much for the tech you get in my opinion

    • @ehiggins7476
      @ehiggins7476 Před rokem

      @@DaMeatSack That’s a bummer if the other models have the crappy dual screen. I wouldn’t pay the extra money for the adaptive cruise because it’s a feature I wouldn’t use.

    ..and just like that, Yamaha has taken an affordable mid range bike and more than doubled it's price in 7 years. i had a mt-09 tracer 2015. it was £8k. for a grand more you could have a top range tourer with a better finish

    • @KnoxArmour
      @KnoxArmour  Před rokem

      Does seem like quite a jump since the original version 🤔 . But then again, this is the top spec new one with new and expensive technology.

  • @xpllmmff

    this one (€16500)and Honda NT1100(€15500) which is better

    • @aleksandarmakedonski7456
      @aleksandarmakedonski7456 Před rokem +1

      My dilemma also. GT has more impressive look and is more hi-tech equipped. NT1100 does not have IMU, ACC and even does not have and guards as a standard equipment nor heated grips (not that I care about heated grips). But, Honda comes with DCT (for extra 1000 euro), and is cheaper. I don’t know do I (anybody) need all this high tech things on GT (adaptive cruise control for example) and if those are worth extra cash, or NT is decent and better choice in terms what you get for the money.

  • @Yama_Apri_521
    @Yama_Apri_521 Před rokem +2

    My 2019 Aprilia RSV4-RF would blip on an open throttle. It's not new tech. Otherwise, the GT+ looks great. I had the first Tracer GT, now have the Tracer 9 GT and will be moving to this GT+ as soon as it lands in the dealership.

  • @Greggspies

    Yamaha and many other manufacturers have been linking brakes for decades. Without realising it, you've probably ridden bikes with linked brakes.

    • @betoney1
