    This looks so weird. It's like my brain is trying to make sense of the paintjob, trying to guess what material it's looking at. Like it's almost silver, but not quite. Almost ivory, but not quite. Usually that's a sign that there's shomething wrong with the paintjob, but this is not the case. It's weird in a very interesting way and I really like it. Good job and happy birthday!

    I've watched almost all of your NMM videos and I want to thank you for doing this series. Each of your NMM videos follows the same overall method, you're just changing the palette. This helps NMM newbies like myself to just follow each step regardless of the color I want to achieve. I have a few questions if you don't mind:
    First, I see that you're using the Everlasting Wet Palette. I have one as well and it's amazing! When you're making your glazes, are you only adding water to the paint on your wet palette or just making sure the palette sponge has a lot of water?
    Second, when you're selecting the palette for each NMM color style, are you mainly following the GW paint range for that particular color?
    Finally, how do you go about selecting colors outside of the color palette? For example, you used Incubi Darkness for shading in this video. What knowledge helped you select that color for NMM White?
    Thanks for your help and Happy belated Birthday!

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for watching mate. Those are a lot of questions so I hope o don't miss any.
      You always have to add a bit of water to the paint even on a wet palette, the palette is there to keep your paints usable for a longer period of time.
      For colour selection I don't follow any of the Citadel "recommend" colour guides, I just select colour progressions that fit well.
      As for what colours to use I just go for gut instinct myself, but it's usually a good idea to use a contrasting colour for the Shadows or a colour that gives some interesting colour variation.
      For example I used Incubi Darkness for the shadow for the coper as they are direct opposite colours and this give a maximum contrast without loosing saturation, which will happen if you used black. But for the white I chose it because one, it's an amazing colour and a pleasure to use and second it provides some tone in the shadows instead of black and creates more visual interest, I could have used a very dark green or purple too and that would have look amazing too. BLACK IS BORING, it has its used but if you can use any other thing it's almost always a better idea.
      Hope that helps.

    I've discovered your videos recently and litteraly adore your work. I want to give a try to this NMM white but I'm missing a few paints and wanna know if there are variations that I can use for :
    Screaming skull replaced by Ushbati bone
    Haven't anything you used for the shadows, but can they be replaced by nuln oil/D.nighshade/mix of maccrage or lahriman blue with black ..
    Thanks 🙏

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  Před 2 lety +1

      For Screaming you can mix Ushabti plus a tiny bit of white, it's the same thing. As for the shadows I strongly recommend you get those paints of something similar, shades will make this work much much harder.
      Also Incubi Darkness is one of the best GE paints by far, strongly recommended for the other browns just mix Rakarth with a darker brown like Dryad Bark in two stages. If you don't want to use Incubi, mix a blue a green and black.
