The "temple" at 18:50 actually belongs to a religion unique to Vietnam called "Cao Đài" (Caodaism). Practitioners of the religion worship the Holy Eye and other gods (including Jesus Christ, the Buddha, Confucius, etc.).
The fact that there were flowers on the front of people's cars proved that you traveled to Phú Quốc around February 6th, the 16th of January according to the lunar calendar. On this day, people in the South will practice something known as "cúng xe" or car "worship" in which they make offerings and pray for safety and prosperity.
Vietnamese culture is present everywhere on the streets, the signs are there for you to discover!

  • @leehana1532

The flower (or incense sticks) you saw on trucks (or cars) is from the drivers praying for safety for their vehicles. It makes sense with Vietnamese traffic. I'm not kidding.
The round boat is for not paying boat-tax (they are clearly not boats).
The narrow houses (or shops) is also for less tax. Property tax base on how wide your front is, not how long your house is
The tax reasons are from the French era. But the practices stick to today.

What about due respect for those living in Vietnam? HCMC now is different than Sai Gon before which was different than Gia Dinh (the name before the FRENCH renamed it to Sai Gon...you know the same people whom divided the country). Overseas Viets need to quit being negative nellies and get over losing the war already. Time to move on and uplift those living in Vietnam, not constantly saying negative stuff and bringing them down from behind a keyboard far away.
