Riley's also heading up her first project, a broadway musical called Elvis: A Musical Revolution as well as has plans to make sure that Graceland becomes a place for more community engagement regarding musical education where young people can learn to play instruments, sing, and learn about Elvis' legacy. The future of Elvis's legacy, as well as his memory are in caring hands of granddaughter Riley. I think she will prove to be, the best thing for Graceland, and for helping to keep Elvis alive in the hearts of his fans.

Without the influence of the people that were around during the "Elvis" times it will be hard to offer up to the puble what they miss and try to recapture with their visits to Graceland. What can never be forgotten about Elvis is the richness of his voice and the richness of his other qualities that he shared so generously with the public.
I think Riley will do an amazing job keeping Graceland in the family and Elvis's legacy alive.

Since Riley has the wind in her sails, I would like her to fight for Memphis Airport to become ELVIS PRESLEY International Airport, this should have been done years ago; Beloved ELVIS brought enough money to the city to make this wish come true;///// On the other hand, if an American flag flew over the Manor, I am sure that ELVIS, a great patriot, would be grateful and would have a wide smile and tears in his eyes, and I would finally have my 2 wishes granted!!!!!! Nbc special had too.many commercials next year add 2 more singers ,idea have a ice skating rink at Graceland and add an elvis Christmas song as fans ice skate during the day time also add if every day was like Christmas as fans are in gift shop and auto museum as an elvis Christmas song is playing , hopefully next year all are Christmas songs ?❤️

OF course We feel a disconnect We Lost Our Lisa Marie - But Graceland Belongs with A Presley - Riley didn't know Her Grandfather that is not her fault -- But Lisa Made sure they knew about him!!!! But Lisa stated a long Time Ago She did not push things on her kids about Their Grandfather She wanted them to have a Normal Life -- But believe me She told them about him and shared stories she said with them - I am 8 months older than Lisa Marie would of been - I have all of her Music -- etc I Miss her so much -- But I have to have Faith & In Knowing Lisa Marie Wanted Her Kids Not Priscilla to be the Future of Graceland -- As She said It will be My Children's --

I read the replies and feel your message was lost.
I think what you meant to say was that it does not feel the same because you and all of us miss Lisa. Lisa was the true love of Elvis’ life after his mother. These 3 people lived at Graceland. Lisa was our emotional link.
Riley can never be that because she herself throughout the years had said that she doesn’t have that connection, citing being closer to Michael Jackson and Neverlsnd which is natural: Riley did not know Elvis personally. Felt that Elvis to her was the cause of great pain and sadness to Lisa because of his death and she missed him so much which she stated was the reason she would associate Elvis and his music with that so she would never initiate playing an Elvis song on her own. Understandably so. Also I would like to correct the channel. Riley herself stated she picked the name Tupelo unaware that there was a connection to Elvis. She said that on Vanity Fair. She said it wasn’t until she saw Baz movie Elvis that she learned Elvis was born in Tupelo and that was stunning to learn. I think probably Lisa had something to do with that idea, as one of the names for Riley to choose from)
But yes the pure love connection is gone because Lisa was with Elvis for 9.5 years. It’s not the same. And her allowing Priscilla’s burial there doesn’t help build a connection with the fans either IMO
It‘s not her fault she was born later and couldn’t do all of that, she is still a Presley bloodline and she will absolutely do well with Graceland and she will have Elvis‘s as well as Lisa‘s best interest. I hope they also make student discounts etc. available because the prices are pretty expensive honestly to go to Graceland…

The only thing that I felt was wrong, was allowing anyone to sing inside Graceland. It was Elvis' home and fortress. Only he should sing within it's walls and the echoes of his voice should not be disturbed. Until we meet again, adios, my God bless you! TCE

Because he always sang at all his homes (I'm guessing) at the piano with loads of guests alongside him and they were probably singing along with him.
The special was to honor him, so why would he mind?
It seems he really loved people and welcomed them into his life.
On the other hand....
I think he was a very private person, but I think as long as you were respectful it wouldn't be a problem.

Yes... if she thought Riley was so good for Graceland, she wouldn't have taken her to court and disputed Lisa's will, and walked off with a handful of money and now gets to be buried at Graceland.
That the bedroom and the rooms upstairs would never be open because they were the most intimate places in Elvis and would have been like desecrating this sacred place, I am not at all sure that he would agree to anyone entering his personal place /// As I am not sure that he would have agreed to the opening of the Manor he had bought for her dear mother, Lisa Marie said it "" I will never open the floor :::: On the other hand the staircase would not support the incalculable number of visitors, and it would have to be rearranged / Graceland will end up in Disneyland !!!!!!! but as long as it brings in $$$$$$ why bother?? Riley has much to learn regarding Elvis, his parents, the history of the family. We must give her time to find her way, she never expected her mother to leave us so soon. I do hope Priscilla stays out of the scene. We saw too much of her through the years.

I'm the same age as Lisa. Born 1968. I was very young when he died as was she. She remembers some of the times with Elvis but not much and Riley never knew him at all. Priscilla is the ex for a reason. She has always used him as they all did. Such a shame. No wonder he left it all

that xmas special should have shown a bunch of old footage of years when elvis and his parents were still a live. I did not think much of the singers because to me they were a lot of no name singers.

- She and her family set to catch the rich guy and make him to marry ("Child Bride", the book);
- She left Elvis for a married guy, father of a little girl, and his wife was pregnant of a second child at that time (Mike Stone);
- Elvis gave her EVERYTHING she wanted in the divorce (her own lawyer said so), but she came back asking for more;
- She surrounded Vernon when he was in poor health to put herself “inside” Graceland’s business;
- She used the name Presley against Elvis' will;
- Now she comes with a story about Elvis, who can't defend himself anymore. And who could and certainly would defend him (Lisa) is dead (under strange circunstamces), now. This is so shaming and coward!
But that is only the PART ONE of the nightmare. The WORST PART was with her OWN DAUGHTER, AFTER ELVIS' DEATH and till the day she went away. Let's talk about this, if you prefer!
And, also, we can talk why merry "widow" had TWO TEEN children with adiction problems. (What a coincidence!)
Elvis' legacy would live under any administration or any way, because he lives in many hearts, even the ones that never visited (or will visit) Graceland or Birth Place.
She never had success on her own. Everyone knows why she didn't drop the name Presley, even when she lived with a steady partner for 22 YEARS, and a son.
Everyone knows why she prefers being buried close to Elvis, instead her mother/father or even her own daughter. (What a good mother she is!)
Anyone could have preserved a remarkable legacy like Elvis'. But anybody never managed to turn her into a star, or put her on the spotlight without the name Presley. ELVIS IS THE DEAL!
You have the right to keep your own point of view, respecting who doesn't respect anybody (not even granddaughters) and forgiving whoever you want to, judging or not, but not trying to tell people how to feel about this! That's not your prerogative!

And just a footnote after completely watching this video I think Lisa made a grave mistake and selling 85% she should have gotten more involved and hired the same people to do the same thing or other people and still retained 100% Ridiculous as far as I'm concerned .

Patsy Presley is a Smith on her mother's side (Gladys and Patsy's mother Clettes were sisters) and Patsy is a Presley on her father's side (Patsy's father Vester was Vernon's brother) and Patsy has been very close to Priscilla and Lisa Marie right up until now. If you're referring to Billy Smith, he should have kept his mouth shut after Elvis died and not say horrible things about him as he and his wife Jo continue to do even today.

What part don’t you understand about Priscilla running it? Priscilla was put in charge by Elvis’s father Vernon. Vernon spent his life with Elvis ; he was his father. Vernon Presley, Elvis’s father chose to put Priscilla in charge. That was the reason why . It is still the reason why. Vernon Respected Priscilla and so did Elvis. Until the day he died he respected her. He was unfaithful first, and he knew it. He was a religious man who may have slept around with other women in tour but He knew that it was wrong. He admitted this very openly and clearly in his interview where he said it was not fair for her to have to be alone all of the time and for her to have to deal with all of that.
