Let's unleash your inner builder and craft amazing projects together. 🛠️🛠️🛠️
Issues in order of appearance :
- No thermal insulation
- Evaporator much bigger that the condenser
- Capillar seems too short
- Fan working wrong: it is blocked, and in the opposite direction (should "suck" the cold air through evaporator to the can). The best would be insulating it inside a styrofoam can with some alcohol for thermal transfer between the drink can and the evaporator.
- 9V battery with very limited energy.
- Zipties probably do not seal efficiently the tube, it forms a bend
- Using a needle instead of an access, would generate a weak point for the silicon hose.
- No minimal thermal insulation, the condenser is too near the evaporator
Wondering about non condenseables?
also note that if they used a Stopcock 3-way Luer Lock they could essentially have a non destructive way to charge the system as well, without the use of a needle
Ffs this isnt a 5 ton unit it's doing the job for this 😂
@@jdmccorfulI i'm fairly sure it wouldn't work for very long due to non condensseables. I own a 1932 GE Monitor Top refrigerator and that system while much bigger, requires bleeding off that gas while under load or it just won't cool using Methyl Formate as a refrigerant.
@@LBCAndrew ahhh yes, at what stage did the poster add the methyl formate?
Every refrigeration expert in the world must have gathered here together in the comments. Amazing.
And every gullible fool in the world can't see the obvious fakery.
Y not because everyone knows the basic law of cooling so everyone share his opinion for this 😂
All these experts, they must be rich!
With bs LOL
All you need as a 10 grade understanding of thermodynamics and Ideal gas laws. No need to be an expert.
And nobody mentions the rooster
Reminds me school project, where we made an air cooler but it was not cooling, but when visitor came we put some ice to the tip of thermo meter and showed that it cooled for around 10 degree.
So this is the new scam format is it. Instead of weird "Free energy" devices, its now using aquarium pumps, expanding butane gas and silicone hose. For example, how is a fan supposed to work when its glued directly to a piece of wood. It wont get air...
He has a half inch hole drilled thru the wooden board but it looks like the board is resting on the table which would prevent airflow.
Either the system does not need a fan in the first place or it is fake.
definitely fake, it ices up in SECONDS. freaking BS

You want the fan blowing on the hot coil (condenser) to help get rid of the heat, and the cold coil (evaporator) insulated so it only absorbs heat from the can, and not the air.
What hot coil? That's fake, just by looking at the power supply it uses you should notice it.
That would be true if this wasn't a fake.

The use of the clock to show that the video isn't really just the copper tube thawing out after being hit with some freezing spray is an innovative touch. Rather than get hold of a clock that runs backwards you just use a few shots of it and don't show that the time is being adjusted.
Awesome 👏. Funny the rooster wakes up late around 10+.
I wonder if the butane leaking from around those zip ties (they are all oriented the same way thus causing a place for leakage) is help in the cooling just because of evaporative loss.
OMFG This is the video edited backwards.
I was surprised when no liquid electrical tape, and not even any rubber cement, was used to cover those zipties and the part where the tube is clamped onto the pipe, to ensure an an airtight seal. In fact, I'd have carefully sealed the copper inside some liquid polymer, carefully painted along the tubes, so it fully coats them, for at least a half inch diameter on either side. For the tubes, the pump, wires, coating of liquid electrical tape.In order to keep from EXPLODING THE CAN, which such rapid and severe cooling could do, I'd have a fan blowing the cooled air into one end of a container, with several tiny exit holes drilled all over the container, to let the cooled air out in every possible direction, ensuring the can is evenly and carefully cooled all over.
Тоже заметил. Уж лучше бы припоя напаял 😁

The conduit from the compressor to the evaporator needs to be a lot smaller for this to function properly. 😂

Excelente idea. Una pregunta. El ventilador es obligatorio para el enfriamiento, o es opcional?
I'm going to try it today
Have you tried its working or not?
It will Work 💯
Really works
yeahhh sirr
This really works even without the battery source! When the butane leaks to the air from the system, it will actually cool down. This is the latent heat of evaporation it absorbed, but ... it won't last long unless you keep pumping in the butane. 😂
Do you recall the butane can cools quickly when you refill your lighter? Just because some butane leaks and evaporates quickly, it absorbs heat from the surroundings. Also because of the leaking butane, the whole setup was moved outside to avoid build-up of dangerous inflammable gas! 😂
As a 30 year refrigeration tech I can tell you this isn’t even close to something that would cool. Isobutane is a refrigerant (R600a) and it has a boiling point of 11*F, at just room temp it’s 50psi and the silicone hoses would have blown off. Also that is a pump, not a compressor, it’s not capable of pressurizing the gas to condense it. The fan would need to be on the condenser more than the evaporator, I could go on…
So my question is, knowing that this is completely fake, why spend the time to make something so stupid and spread misinformation? Are you that starved for attention?
Bravo

Que legal será que dá certo com gás de spray de suvaco
The idea is nice. Do see some questionable aspects especially the location of the fan, but it does give the basic concept and something to work off of. It would be interesting to make several and fill it with different coolant charges and time each one and note the difference in temp/time

Dear Bro Perfect
Some questions
1. Is your Pump air tight
2. Why keeping can, is it getting cooled or cooling the copper coil. Because I have worked with pumps they were not air tight. At what pressure the gas is in the pipe.
It really works! This butane gas doesn't require much pressure because it's low-pressure; at 2 bars, it already becomes liquid, and it puts the gas into liquid form inside the system, helping it function for a while. As it's a low-pressure gas, this engine can easily compress it back into liquid, thus completing the cycle.
I don’t know but seems like I got a try it but I have different math I always upgrade what others they forgot or actually my job to correct those guys he used needle if you get the IV line the one they put it in your hand in the hospital it has lotta part that you can inject the light and fillet that if there’s gas will work but I wanna try it with mini computer radiator with Freon
I've conducted several experiments with this gas, and it's very easy to compress. You can test it yourself by putting it in a syringe. In its liquid form with the syringe nozzle capped, you can easily compress it with your hands.@@freddykruegericanseeyou6863
Very true I am a hvac tech who has 10 years in the trade. Butane propane are very good refrigerants we do not use them because of then being flammable. In the old days they used ammonia.
People who fall for this are the same people who get scammed all the time throughout life, while the science principal of this is very real this person has faked the outcome. It needs a proper compressor to compress the gas back into a liquid, and probably a correct expansion valve, and he's done something fishy with the clock.
Well this isn't as bad as the"Free energy", "perpetual motion" crap, he's just faked this outcome with freezer/duster can spray then reversed the video.😂😂😂
Go study, this gas is low pressure, it doesn't need a powerful compressor. I've worked with this type of gas before, don't compare our intelligence with your ignorance.@@and9290

we did this back in the 80s with our 10th scale RC buggies to keep the engines cool, old tech......
xD
My lab partner made this heat pump once when is was at Caltech. The only reason we don't use this is because of the danger of flammable gas involved.
nice invention!👍
I think you have to add more gas ,because looks like orifice is freezing faster than the evaporator. Liquid turns to gas too early
Is there other cold fluids you could use besides butane what else could be used ? Share please
i was fascinated by the idea of cold beer too and then the best thing in the world is just to simply pour your cold beer in a thermos and problem solved, you drink it in less than 4 hours its still cold
The fan should not be blowing through the evaporator cooler rather it should cool the condenser to liquify the gas . The cappillary tube should be hot not cold because the evaporated gas is being compressed
Butane?
Q: Is this a....
1. Refrigerator?
2. Cigarette lighter?
A:
3. Widow maker
Ok, I read all the comments. Some I liked but the nay-sayers need to prove their opinion. This should work. The fan is not really necessary but it helps focus the cold. You conceivably use ammonia in a system like this but it would need higher compression. This would be an excellent or adequate system to build a mini-fridge or an AC unit for a Teardrop trailer.
Improvements I would recommend: Pumps mounted directly to a solid surface create vibration. Vibration equals noise. Use foam rubber insulation or car door gasket material to act like a sound buffer to reduce the sound. Though this build was for a demonstration I would make a plastic enclosure for it lined inside with thin soft foam sheeting. This should also help reduce sound. A speed controller for the pump is a nice touch as would an on/off switch. And go ahead and add an on LED light. Add a power jack so you can use different power sources like a cigarette lighter, a small power supply or battery pack - all 12v DC.
I hope this helps stir imaginations. I’m going to build one.
The pump being used is designed for liquids, not gasses. It can't generate 1PSI moving a gas, let along the 100+ PSI required for a refrigeration loop (using butane (R600) as the refrigerant) to function. Even if it could generate that kind of pressure, it would would blow out the silicone tubing and you would need a fan on the condenser coil too, not just the evaporator coil. The only way something like this could possibly cool a can of soda is if you instead filled the tubing with glycol and put one of the coils in a bucket of ice water. Even then, your just using the ice to remotely cool the can.
ja fez o prejeto para coca cola ,estou aguardando o projeto para gelar cerveja ,estou ansioso !!!!
If I were to try this, I would do three things differently.
First, I would insulate the outside of the evaporator coil. As it's being used for contact-cooling of the soda can, why let it uselessly cool the surroundings? 🤦🏻♂️
Second, I would open up the condenser coil to form a circular array and put that against a vertically-mounted fan (or horizontally-mounted but with a good couple inches of intake air gap!).
And third: if I want that to be battery-powered, I'd use at least three lithium batteries. That piddly little 9V battery with the six AAAA batteries inside can't supply much current. I wonder how many 9V batteries were needed to cool that can of soda? 😄😄
To get the evaporator to that temperature you need a suction pressure of -50kPa or so for R600 (butane). A head pressure of 400kPa would be a reasonable enough assumption as the condenser is a bare tube, convection cooled. That little pump can’t push that sort of compression ratio, no way. The capillary tube is far too short for this to be achievable. The capillary tube frosting up suggests either the liquid butane is undergoing a pressure drop before the capillary tube. At normal atmospheric pressure butane boils at close to 0 degrees C, just a tad under. There’s more to this system, it cannot operate correctly or efficiently as built.
How many 9v batteries does it take to cook one drink ?
When do you purge the system???
Good morning. Is this pump a vacuum or a simple water pump?
So we are just gonna know the fact that he use a 9 V battery to power a PC fan a pump that’s more than 9 V and routine gas expands when he gets too hot, which is very easy to do so all he did was make a makeshift bomb
Actually this will work, they are now using butane in all domestic refrigerators, the capillary tube is where the cooling takes place just like in the video. Is not very safe but is a cool design.
Yolg'on ekan bu ma'lumotlar
I see its a cheap fun way to do that, but what's the purpose of the fan if only have a little vent hole, the wood block from the bottom on the table and the can tight to the coil? That fan not have a purpose and only drains the battery. I think was way better if you use the fan to cool off the heating coil instead and leave the cold coil by itself with the can.
Quanto tempo a bomba pode ficar ligada ?
To be fair, using a 9V battery is not enough to run a 12V native brushless AND a brushed motor at the same time. Use a cheapo bench power supply next time, let alone a tiny wallwart, as batteries don't last long enough. :/
To be fair neither of these two motors need a high RPM for this to work so the 9V is sufficient.
Que produto spray é esse que você usou?

What some humans do for not to put that can in the refrigerator 1 hour before and enjoy his time. Is the same theory of the greed of spacetime for some guys with vehicles, accelerate the car wishing to arrive earlier! The human nature 😊
Cool. Will do a airconditiojing ninja😅
thats really cool but it wont last long. the freezing temps will break down the copper and make it crack pretty fast. probably in a few hours. then you have a dangerous gas leak being inhaled.
Which gas are used
Why did you solder the connections between the copper pipes instead of gluing them, if you use thin rubber pipes in the system that would not withstand such pressure?
Many people saying this is fake but couldn't butane be used as a refrigerant and the expansion tube principle here work if powered and fanned correctly?
It's pretty cool to be able to make a mini fridge without peltier devices.
Si es fake, lo mas dificil fue hacer marchar el reloj en sentido inverso (por el video en reversa)
So basicly with similar setup can convert cooler box to a mini freezer... thanks for an idea...
Can we use plastic pipe with Almulium foil rapped on it, instead of copper pipe because i don't have copper pipe and it very expensive. Plz tell me
😊😊c merveiller
Will the amount of gas in the pipe be lost a lot?
Very interesting refrigeration model, thank you for sharing
Nice
my question is... which way do we have to connect the inlet and out let pipes? Condenser is connected with outflow or inflow? hope anyone understand what i mean?
I've seen some explanations about the working principle of refrigerators in projects alike, but this one nailed it in terms of accuracy of Physics concept.
Don't let all the refrigeration "experts" in the comments hear that.
That small tube will block with ice from the water which will condensate because he never bled the system of air
Not necessarily to point it becomes a big problem, air typically contains a few grams of water per cubic meter, and that system looks like it's a small fraction of a liter, so, somewhere around a milligram of water. So, not necessarily a big problem. Besides just forcing the refrigerant in there, with the air, and some aspects of the design, I personally found it really great build, for a youtube video.
@@fishyerik Great build a fake video?
O_O
Correct. You'd have to bleed the air out of the system, by filling it with nitrogen first.
@fishyerik به نظر شما این کار عملی است یا کلاهبرداری؟
@@user-pb5fb4zy4i It is scam.
Psused, commented, going to save on playlist to watch later 🏌♂️🌌thank you.
Anyway, whatever type of gas it is with a centrifugal pump with a turbine, it is impossible to create compression on the gas because the gas returns back. For this process, a reciprocating pump with a piston and a suction valve is needed, compression which does not allow the gas to return back.
Shout out to the crowing rooster
Do i understand this right? the gas releases heat in the medium coil, gets compressed in the small coil because of the small diameter turning into a liquid then expands to a gas in the large coil pulling heat from the can then goes through the pump then to the medium coil releasing the heat again completing the cycle before being compressed again in the small coil?
The medium coil is the expansion device
Basic refrigeration
its not being compressed its just being cooled, losing that heat energy allows it to liquify at low pressure.
To make cool u must compres the refrigerant with high pressure in compressor if u just using water pump to compress it almost imposibble to make it.
Sooo... They put it on the board with a hole in it and fan sucking air from that hole and blowing it up to the can? :D
Im pretty sure it could be done more easily if the can is put directly into the dry ice which is blowing freezing ar through the hole in the board :D
That 9volt battery is strong enough to power the fan and the pump at the same time?
yes, but not for long..
No! This why this is a total scam
It's not. Ive got a bunch of similar size fans and they wont spin up on a 9v battery.
@rewFans rated 12V are normally operable between 10-12.6V, this one could be operable even lower at 9V. Even more, these fans are controlled by voltage which means they will spin very slowly.
Of course. Ten seconds or less..
Simple alternative: ICE.
Que tipo motor comptessor ele usa?
mini bomba do aliexpress. nem tenta fazer, o design é todo falho e a bomba não aguenta
What if we don't use the circulating pump, and just add butane into the copper coil?
onde acha e como chama esta bombe de gas ali ?
I will use same format to make mini air conditioning system running on 12v lithium battery. Thanks for demo.
Update us when you finish 😅
The coils on the condensor should not be tight together! Terrible heat transfer. And need a few fins on them! Also, the condensor allways needs to be larger than the evaporator.
that's what ice is for

What are materials use?
There's no way that could work. 😂 That little pump can never compress a refrigerant like that.
the fan should blow on the condenser, not the evaporator
I really don't think the creator understands why this works
I made this using this example but the gas pressure keeps rendering the system workless. I used 12v dc battery, 12v aquarium pump, 12 v fan. This system works but the stuff doesn't seem to be working. Where am I getting it wrong?
Lots of reasons this wouldn’t work but main one is that pump he’s calling a compressor. It is not even close to what is needed to make a refrigeration system work. 0:22
Maybe it wouldnt have taken 20 minutes to cool if you'd actually removed the air from the system
