Couldn’t pay me to have a new or used one. They are a scourge on the environment, and typify the anti-green falsehood of ‘green’.

For my lifestyle, any vehicle is waste of money. I'm cool with public transportation, bikes, scooters, uber and walking and haven't missed anything. Also a lot healthier. If I need to rent a car, it definitely won't be an EV.

With 3 minutes of down times to fuel and a long range of 570 miles, I'll keep my jaguar XJL and leave well enough alone....

I never drive more than 70 miles. Why would I need that? I plug into a full battery every night. It’s amazing. Never happened to go to a nasty petrol station.

@@dennisknehans3206 then that short and shitty range is perfect for you. As for me, i drive from Lancaster Pennsylvania to Jacksonville Florida, Dallas Texas, Johnson city Tennessee, st Louis, and Chicago to visit family. That's over 7 thousand miles of long range travels. I would never, ever even think about putting my model S on any of these destinations. It would'nt serve me to well. That's the job for my jaguar XJL. I use my model S for local destinations only. For the 570 miles of range, I'll take the nasty petrol station. When im not over the road, my local daily destinations amount to only 5 to 10 miles a day. So i didn't have the extra expense of obtaining a charging apparatus to hook up to my house and my personal electric grid keeping the cost of my electric bill at bay. It's cheaper to charge but, for the times when you have to plug in and stay awhile and for the short and shitty range it offers me, cheap is the least they can do. I got the model S used for 10 grand from a mom and pop used car lot. The man told me he'll give it to me cheap just please get it off my lot. I would do the same thing if i had some EV sitting in my lot for over 9 months. But boy will it be great when they improve them with shorter down times and long range which unfortunately continues to be reserved for gas cars only. I like EVs. They just lack the real fine qualities and improvements. I admit it. It just dosent provide me with the qualities my jaguar XJl does. Hopefully one day they will.....

@@dennisknehans3206 yeah well i travel over 7 thousand miles a year in long distance traveling. An EV would never provide the serious traveler with short down times and long range which is sorry to say, reserved for gas cars only. I use my model S for local destinations only. When i travel long distances, i use my Jaguar XJL which provides me with 3 minutes of down times to fuel and 570 miles of range, not available in any EV in America sorry to say. If you're blinded and stupid enough to think EVs are all that then you'll really love them when they finally improved them with these fine qualities and improvements, giving you a real reason to boast the EV....

    dunno
i have 1st gen Chevy Volt with only ev range of 65km per charge.
    i got it in 2015.
were in 2024, almost 10 years later.
i got a 117000km on it. got 100k km on battery less than 17k on ICE.
    average of 0.5l/100km
    battery still going strong.
all I've ever used is a regular outlet at home 110v overnight 10h charge.
the other 17k km on ICE was mostly 3 trips i drove across canada west coast to east coast. roughly 5k km per trip. and occasionally cold days in winter.
    greatest car in history.
and from what i seen most people get more than double my my range without any problems with the car. means it might last me another +10years.
sofar i haven't done any work to the car other than oil change 1once a year. airfilter+cabin airfilter. brake service, replaced one headlight.
    knock on wood.
i changed my lifestyle to take advantage of this vehicle to the fullest. i moved to live within 5km of where i work. i do 80 to 90% of my daily commutes on EV. i have the ICE as backup when driving road trips.
i rarely go to the gas station, usually at least 3months to 6 months. that long that i barely recall when the last time i been.
overall charging has never been an issue, i charge whenever i can and if I can't, i never worry about it as ICE seemlessly kicks in and is there ad a back-up.
also vehicle is not as heavy as full on EVs..smaller battery pack 17kwh.
tires last a long time as well. has plenty of power for my needs. and yet haven't noticed any drop in EV range.
Chevy should have never cancelled this platform.

" Fixing an EV isn't like fixing your grandpa's gas guzzler " ????????????????? Are you not aware that young people buy ice cars too? Maybe you need to be more in touch with your audience ... and not every ice car is a GUZZLER. My Corolla gets 41 miles per gallon on the highway where I spend most of my time. Maybe you need to be more in touch with the auto industry.

Are you welcoming polution into this country or you prefer the rich oil companies to be even more richer with oil/ gas sale than be worried about our American's health? Is the gas car sale worth it more than a clean energy saver EV car? Going green is the only way to live and travel.

    • @warringtonminge4167
      @warringtonminge4167 Před měsícem +3

Green is the way to go but BEVs are not green on any sensible measure.
The irremediable environmental devastation in mining refining and manufacturing new BEVs far exceeds the same for comparable ICEs.
Creating the electricity to power BEVs globally comes from mainly fossil fuels, China is building dozens of new power stations all fuelled by particularly dirty coal, and India is going the same way. Their populations are an order of magnitude greater than the USA.
In most countries globally the bulk of electricity still comes from burning fossil fuels and a significant proportion is wasted in transmission losses to your BEV.
Even the solar panels and wind turbines for clean electricity are environmentally dirty in both their manufacture and disposal when they're scrapped as they wear out or break down.
Moving to BEVs exports the pollution out of your street into the next county or country but it still goes into the air and spreads back to you anyhow as air moves round the planet.
