    Really enjoyed this tutorial. It reminded me of watching Bob Ross where he would do something and you'd go "oh no he ruined it", then 5 minutes later "ok now it looks cool". I'm going to employ some of these techniques when I do mine. The typhus corrosion on the tires was a neat trick.

    what are you using to set the dry pigment? it will all rub off eventually. I tend to use a dull coat in a mist sprayer and let it gently settle on the model.

    awesome video, I'm starting to paint my ork buggies and looking for ideas. why use warlock bronze first over just using lead belcher?

    • @QuarterPaint
      @QuarterPaint  Před 2 lety +1

      Color variation and texture, plus you get a darker metal effect. Warplock brone dry brushed with leadbelcher is clearly going to look different then just solid leadbelcher

    how do you thin your citadel paints for an airbrush?(what ratio)

  • @Rosarosa106
    @Rosarosa106 Před 5 lety

    Amazing work ! I’m inspired to paint more minis cause if ya!
    Just curious if you had problems with the daler rowney inks? I found the purple,blues and reds got pretty chunky. I’m assuming cause they were in the shelf for a while. Any tips in fixing these ?

    • @QuarterPaint
      @QuarterPaint  Před 5 lety

      I haven’t had separation issues but very likely because they have been sitting for a while.
      If I a vigorous shake hasn’t fixed it I would suggest looking into a small
      paint mixer. I think Tamiya makes one for stirring up enamel paints. I think that might help bring the pigments together

  • @James-37
    @James-37 Před 4 lety

    When you brushed on the streaking grime how much did you thin it down by with the spirit stuff?

  • @TeaPoweredModels
    @TeaPoweredModels Před 5 lety

    Such a great job on this dude! How do you thin your GW paints for the airbrush?

    • @QuarterPaint
      @QuarterPaint  Před 5 lety

      Thanks! Vallejo's Airbrush flow improver. The ratios vary based on the thickness of the paint, but I never have an issue running GW paints through the airbrush

    • @TeaPoweredModels
      @TeaPoweredModels Před 5 lety

      @@QuarterPaint Thanks for the tip, I'll keep messing with the ratio. What size needle do you use?

    • @QuarterPaint
      @QuarterPaint  Před 5 lety

      .3mm needle!

    • @TeaPoweredModels
      @TeaPoweredModels Před 5 lety

      Quarter Paint ahh okay, maybe that’s where I’m going wrong a little, I have been using a 0.2, I’ll try a 0.3 and see if it makes any difference! Thanks for the advice!

    • @QuarterPaint
      @QuarterPaint  Před 5 lety

      Very likely can still make it work with a .2 but just really need to keep the paints super thin
