  • hi there✨

As someone with many allergies and sensitivities I struggle a lot with patterns that use animal fibers, so I love to see people try different yarns for patterns that do use animal fibers. I have been knitting since 2007-2008 since i was thought by my grandma and she always made sure to store my projects and yarns in a separate bin. Looking forward to see more of your future projects and see more of these long podcast type videos.

thank you so much for your kind comment! your grandmother sounds like a gem 🥹 i'll be knitting a 50% plant fiber sweater for my partner in the fall because he doesn't like the feeling of animal fibers either, but if you have recommendations for a fully plant fiber fingering weight yarn that's great for sweaters, feel free to share 🥰 the one i'm considering now is 50% cotton and 50% merino (gepard cottonwool3)

I have only used acrylic, cotton and bamboo yarn when i was younger. I recently found the Dutch brand Vegan Yarn, although a little pricey they seem to be wroth it. They have different sizes of yarn weight, so i recomend checking them out.

You did what I should’ve done with your zipper sweater light 😂 I made one for my sister’s birthday but did not block it before sewing in the zipper. After blocking the fabric had stretch out SO much around the zipper, it would not lay « flat ». It had to rip it off, block a second time and then install the zip back. I was soooo eager to finish the sweater but it taught me a lesson. 🥲
Can’t wait to see some of your future FOs ! I’ve wanted to try Lang cashmerino to cast on some baby knits as it contains a great amount of cashmere along with poly-fibers (for maintenance purposes only as I don’t see myself handwashing a bunch of baby knits everyday 😂), I’m interested to hear what you’ll think about it ! The colourway seems gorgeous. I’m leaning more into soft tones that are not grey-beige-ish, adding colours to my knits is one of my goals for 2024. ✨

oh my god that sounds like my absolute nightmare. kudos to you for actually persevering and re-sewing it!
i'm not going to lie, the "for babies" label is what made me buy the cashmerino.... just hoping my hands will tolerate it because apparently babies should 🤭 i hope i'll get to knitting those gloves still this winter, because we really only have february left at this point 🥲
