I just want to say how much I appreciate your no BS, straightforward, informative videos. As a relatively new Concealed Carrier, I have taken a local firearms training class. I was able to fire several different handguns in order to find one that was comfortable in my small hand. I plan to take another class with a different instructor who is familiar with Massad Ayoob’s training methods. In the meantime, I watch as many CZcams videos as much as I can, and practice my draw, grip, aim/sight, and re-holster at least daily. As a disabled senior woman, i see myself as being seen as a potentially easy target. I’m sure I’ll never be in a running gunfight. I do occasionally use a cane, but am relegated to an electric wheelchair most of the time. Firearm skills that are important to me are the safe handling of my weapon; a safe and inconspicuous draw; and accuracy of the shot. Thanks to your videos (and other similar videos on CZcams), I am learning so much. Again, thank you for your videos. They are so very helpful.
Number 1:
A gun you won't mind leaving in an evidence locker forever.
Seriously, some police will just never return your gun, don't use an heirloom, rare gun, or something you can't replace. Some departments will "lose" evidence too, so beware.
I bought a shadow system they will replace the weapon for free if your involved in self defense local Texas company
I retired my P7 PSP for this reason. It was a fantastic choice for my needs but it's just too collectible in today's environment. I miss it , it was perfect for me.
@@jonathanjohnson8656 Oh nice! Those are awesome guns. Yeah it's one of those things you don't want to sit rusting away in a locker somewhere that might as well be a glorified meat pantry for the evidence of a department. Even stolen guns that get recovered by police may never be returned because they're labeled as evidence and cannot be returned until completion of a trial and sentencing that may not happen for decades or ever considering how some bad guys get away for a long time.
@@AA-dn8dj you're 100% correct. It's a shame that property ( evidence recovered from theft as well as weapons used in self defense cases) are held from the owners for such a long time. I wanted the p7 since the mid 90s and finally got one about 15 years ago. I believe it's the safest handgun ever built because of its squeeze safety, you can't say you accidentally shot someone. I could sell it for a good profit, but I wanted one for so long I know I'd regret parting with it.
Tired argument that makes the assumption that they will survive an engagement. Carry what you train with.
Thank you sir. I played this video for my girlfriend. I've been telling her she needs to carry her gun on her person and not in her purse. With all that's going on in the world you need to be able to get that gun out with the quickness. I purchased a Vedder Light Tuck IWB holster for my Sig P365 and it's been my daily carry ever since. Thank you again for your time and all you do.
Awesome as usual. Appreciate the thought you put in these videos and the concepts you cover.
Great overview! Thanks for putting this together.
As always tons of great information, thanks for your wealth of knowledge Mick.
Great video as always.
Solid tips and good for thought for new and experienced carriers alike.
Very solid video with great info I totally believe in.
Excellent information,thank you .
I started carrying about a year 1/2 ago. I bought a vedder light tuck iwb and I haven't had to spend any more money on a holster. It has been great. I still want to come train with y'all hopefully this year I'll be able to. Thanks for all you do.
I've trained with him. You won't be disappointed!
@@cb.7814 Yup, you learn a lot in Mick's class and not just about shooting, drawing, but also about critical thinking such as situational awareness.
I've been using Vedder for about 6 years now and have been mostly pleased. My main issue is the screws for retention always coming apart. I reached out to their customer service and they suggest solutions, but I'm like, you know you have a design problem, why aren't you fixing it?
@@rogerwood5228 Yes, they do come loose. Twice a month, when I do my holster cleaning, I make sure everything is nice and tight
Hey Mick another awesome video. Really enjoy the content and your passion. You are so informative . I'm so happy you can share this information. Thanks Again
Great video as always. Can't wait for S12.
Great information as always Mickey. Love the shirt!
Great video as usual!!
I get a kick out of your video's they are awesome. Always informative but always entertaining thanks.
Great wrap-up. Loved the content, thanks!
Very inspiring thoughts. Thank you.
Mick you nailed it for real.. super well done.. I cannot carry where I live but those stuff are rock solid instructions.. that more people should begin to practice and follow even in gun range.. peace..
Great video!!
Thank you!
Excellent video
What a great video. I wish I could have seen this when I first got started
Thanks for sharing keep doing what you do
This is the second or third video I’ve watched from this channel and I absolutely love the content, help and suggestions of accessories that y’all mention.
I gotta pick up a good belt and holster, thank you so much for all of this.
I also gotta check out y’alls shop and get a shirt from y’all
Thank you sir. ! Very informative and valuable contents... much appreciated!!!
Amen, I'm 51 years old and have learned new things just in the last few months about guns I had no idea and it's for that reason I am subscribing
Have to say thanks for the advice Really love the info you give I am watching from South Africa so can't train with you guys but I truly enjoy the info a lot.
Thank you for doing these videos brother! I always learn something or see something I could use or need! I went to the glock 48 shield arms mags extra mag with extension in a vedder holster and a kore belt. Knife TQ and a pack of gauze or bandage small. Ameriglo sights have been great for me on all my handguns. Good ammo too G9 external hollows. Let me know if im leaving anything out or if anyone else runs the same type of gear. Be safe and take care everyone
Thank you good stuff as usual
“But don’t ever get complacent”…I felt that
Outstanding! Thank you.
Great, Great video ... thank you for sharing!
Great video! Thank you! I hope you come to Los Angeles to teach pistol / CCW classes one day.
Love the video. You crack me up
Good one you had me smiling from the word go because of my S&W model 29 .
Mick great vid , thanks for your dedication , when will you be back in NJ ?
Concealment Express holsters have worked great for me. One thing I like about them is that they are sleek and don't have all of that gaudy unnecessary excess kydex, most of which is full of metal brads, extending off of the wings, but they are still plenty strong. That sleekness makes them more comfortable to wear IWB an can be positioned in a variety of places comfortably. Yes, they come with the kydex or plastic belt clips, but there are options for changing those out for metal clips or snap loops.
Good demo.
Keep on rocking brotha
Love my Vedder holsters. Pretty happy with my QVO as well.
Always a solid.message ..
I Liked and subscribed. Quality beats Quantity.
Thanks man for the advise. Das right, “Screw them.”
Glad I have watched this video.
Love your closing comments brother
You are awesome,my wife and I carry fn509 she has the compact I have the midsize, we both train with T IN maine.and we took 2 classes with super Dave.we will do it again next time he is in maine.Thank you
My dude
I'd like to recommend Tenicor as another quality holster company. I've been carrying with their Malus Sol holster for about 6 months now and it's by far my favorite holster of the ones I've tried and I have experience with Vedder and PHLster as well. The Tenicor holster masterfully combines design and materials to make a well rounded holster for whatever your needs are and I can't recommend them enough.
A great product
Know what? I love this dude, hes like one of the homies & I’ve never even met the guy.
So no homotype shit. legit seems like a down to earth funny ass dude from Chicago, with that yankee accent… hahaha.
the father figure most of us never had. 100%.
Respect 🙏
Thank you sir for your service we love you 😍
Vedder makes great products. Thanks for shouting them out.
Always refreshing and inspiring. Currently trying to narrow down trainers in northern ca. Only one ccw friend n training isnt at the forefront of his mind unfortunately but I've been not so subtly pushing him towards it. So asking around for good trainers isnt a great option. The local shop has some good trainers but I dont want to only go one place for all my training. And finances havent been great post surgery but I'm pushing forward and we'll get there. Thanks for another great upload.
Check out 10ZeroConcepts
@@CarryTrainer will do. Looks like their closest courses are only about an hour and a half away from me. Thank you!
Are they anywhere near the Bay Area? Having a tough time looking them up because I don’t have any social media. (Besides CZcams)
Hi, I am a big fan of you and your work here !! I'm sending greetings from the Czech Republic ( CZ .-)
I believe I have had some training with you if I am not mistaken. It was at Top Guns in Terre Haute In, it was right before I started to carry a gun. I am getting that training now, I have another class set for the end of the month. For the record it helped me greatly to get started on the right path.
I have done a class there. A video of that weekend is on this channel. Go see if you are in it.
i carry a Ruger p85 1988 and luv it
Thank you
Sage advice
Awesome videos thank you, what are your thoughts on self defense insurance to go with all this.
Great video! What do you think of L.A.G. Tactical holsters and their clips? Thanks.
Once again thank you very much buddy! And if you’re ever in Denver come out to the Benihana and ask for Chef George.
Sweet
I love Vedder products! And Gunfighter gun lube!!
Great video as always. The only thing I would add is ammo. Good ammo. There is junk out there and can be dangerous. I’m not talking caliper but quality ammo brands. I went cheap and found out, never go cheap.
Very true alot of jhp doesn't expand when going through layers of clothing. The good stuff usually is expensive like hst's, gold dot's and the like. But there are some really good ammo out there, I watch a lot of testing videos and I have settled on the 115 grain silver tip jhps because they do not over Penetrate
I do appendix the HK VP9-B match…. It is tricky at times 😅
Well said, on buying guns. 👏.
excellent content! I cannot say how much I appreciate you! I am quite new to CC and have actually only carried a few times. I have taken WI CC, Fundamentals of handguns and a beginners self defensive shooting class at a nearby range. Until I can get into more range classes, I am practicing drawing, holstering, & dryfire drills. I chose a Glock 43x. I would love to attend an s12 event and am going to start saving! Side note, do you know anything about The Well Armed Women Slim Kydex holsters? I have one ordered, but have since heard they are not the greatest quality. Thanks, again!!
I also live in Wisconsin always looking for places to train. If you don't mind me asking where did you go.
dene adams. my wife swears by them.
@@joshuaborchardt1005 We go to The Range of Richfield. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We went to Midwestern Shooters Supply a couple years ago and they were not welcoming or personable at all. So, we headed to Richfield and it became our go to place. If you have a lady in your life that's interested in or already does shoot, their female instructors are great and they have a fun ladies night! We'd also like to check out Vortex Edge in Barneveld.
Know what else you need if you carry a gun? The best ammo for your particular EDC. Barrel length has a big effect on ammo selection, because even the best JHP's have erratic performance when shot from a short barrel. Plus gun size, weight and overall ergonomics (not to mention a shooter's skill and body makeup) affect the shootability of different projectile weights and pressure loadings. And time of year (colder weather means more clothing to penetrate) also requires attention to maintain maximum effectiveness. Might make for an interesting video all by itself.
I’ve had to move toward untucked shirts to be able to quickly draw my IWB concealed pistol. It’s just too difficult to carry with tucked in shirts. Great video!
Phlster enigma. Trust me
@@citizenresponse I’ll check that out. Thanks.
Great video, just came across it. I Carry an S&W mp 9mm. I'm looking for a good holster, I use a leather one now for conceal and carry, but I'm looking for something more comfortable. I'm a heavy set guy so I want something that's not digging into my sides. I live in CO
Thanks again
The stuff we showed will work great
I love leather 🤣🤣🤣🤣 , thank you for all the good training and info you put out for the community .
I carry a Smith & Wesson 360 .357 magnum. When I bought it I bought a Desantis Flex-Tuk IWB holster to carry it in. Nice holster, but I’ve been concerned about the pivot action I get due to the clip being at the front of the holster. Could you give me your opinion on this holster please? Also could you recommend other holster options for the 360 as well?
Thank you
I would prefer another contact point. I assume the grip tips down towards your belt line?
Philster makes a holster you'd find works well www.phlsterholsters.com/shop/city-special-revolver-holster/
Great video! Do you have any recommendations for trainers in Las Vegas for concealed carry
thank you for teaching this. There very helpful. let me know if you know anyone here in Massachusetts that give good training .
We have a class in NJ coming up. Carrytrainer.com
Hey Mikey thanks for educational information I’m from El Paso, Tx do u by any chance know of a good training instructor. I would really appreciate. Thanks again and god bless y’all
Mickey - What do you think about light mounted on EDC firearm? I have bought few good quality holsters but the trigger guard is wide because of the light, its definitely not covered like a non mounted light holster.
WML is a great idea. Holster must cover the trigger. Return that
Love the 92 in the thumbnail
Sort of my thing
Thank you so much for your Teachings I have learned so much .
I have a question for you I carry Xds 3.3 Single stack look for a someone you know that can mill my Xds for a R&R please thank you
Love to hear your thoughts on the Taurus g3
I will add Matthew Little from Greybeard Actual to the list you made, great video Mickey!
Matt is a friend of mine
@@CarryTrainer I know, I watched your podcast with him🤙🏻
Question, ive only been interested in pistals for 3 years now as ive always been a lover of shot guns and rifles till my friend talked me into getting a pistal but ive went through a ton of shitty holsters and i just bought a bulldog tactical one for my Ruger 57,what are your thoughts on this holster brand as if its crap i would still have time to ship it back for a refund or is it a good brand ?
Good day very good video, off the subject thought what in your opinion is a good trigger for a GLOCK 22? I have tried Pyramid from the GLOCK store and Johnny GLOCK. Couldn't get them to work at all
The only triggers I recommend for this is Apex Tactical. I've visited the factory, watched the drop testing and filmed it for your viewing pleasure here on the channel. czcams.com/video/StDzy7tutgQ/video.html
recently I realized if you want to conceal carry a gun you should also carry some non lethal deterrents like a stungun or pepper gel or a very high lumen flashlight and fighting skills or a tactical defense whip
I have a belt from Klikbelts. Love it.
Thank you for the video, I have a S&W shield 9mm, still looking for good holster, I need wear suit for work everyday, so need something IWB at 3 or 4 o’clock , do you have anything recommend?
Vedder light tuck
The products I mentioned
Where can I get the padding that he has on the backside of the gray holster? I tried the T1 wedges before but after carrying for a couple of hours it starts filling uncomfortable.
That is from Dark Star Gear
Interesting video.
I recently purchased a Vedder Light Tuck IWB holster for my Glock 45 (9mm). I plan to carry appendix.
I still havn't purchased a belt, or pants. Do I need specific sizing on pants and a belt? My current pants and belt droop when I practice carrying while at home ($8 walmart belt). The pants also feel too tight. I'm not sure what's wrong.
You need a solid belt FOR SURE. It makes a huge difference. Some people say 2inches bigger in pant size. But I wear the same pants I always have just fine.
@@landona1020 Yeah, I'm looking up Beltman belts. They have a whole sizing guide on their website. I would have to find a pair of pants that are loose enough to allow me to measure with my current belt and holster.
Yeah man
Funny I was just talking about this the other day I told someone that a new gun requires me to put 1000 rounds down range to get proficient with new gun … Got my S&w Sheild 1.0 … and vedder light tight holster ..deadeye carry belt … have 1000’s of round through it … I am proficient with it carry it daily.
I have the same pistol and holster. Good combo
With my ar15, with the bolt, do I want the extractor of the bolt to be on the right side of the firearm?
Thanks much
You're messing with me, right?
Is cardini leather zorro series a good holster for the hellcat osp.with comp.?
Do you have a recommendation for a holster for a big guy with a gut?
I've recently started carrying and I use WeThePeople holsters. They aren't super expensive but seem to do well. Opinions?
I sure like mine, IWB. !!
I recommend the Hogue slip-on grip for the P365XL, feels great! (For anyone who isn’t a fan of that sandpaper grip)
Those are OK
If you hold a pistol properly, they start to slide up and cover the damn mag release, absolute shit. The 365xl grip is fine the way it is, the Wilson Combat grip module is the way to go if you absolutely need to change it.
@@CarryTrainer have one on my P365 for more 2 years and 1000+ rounds...hasn't budged.
@@semajniffirg230 if I replace the grip, it will be alloy and have pic-a-tinny rail. Probably buy another gun though.
Honestly a bike tube cut and flipped inside out works great. Wet or dry. Cheap and you can shape it. And 1 tube can make 20.
Mick do you know of any quality trainers in or near northern Vermont or New Hampshire?
I need a good sig p365 holster for appendix carry but can't spend more the $80. Can someone please recommend me something they have tried and loved for concealed carry. Thanks in advance and great content and info.
All three mentioned in the video. VEDDER
JM CUSTOM and DARKSTAR
Micky, do you have a recommendation for a trainer near the Pittsburgh area? I would love to come train with you guys sometime in Dover, Pa.
Alliance Ohio is only about 1.5 hours from you. Many great things at that range.
@@CarryTrainer Thank you. Much love and appreciation for all the videos you and your crew put out for all of us.
Hello. I am trying to get my sister into carrying. I bought her and her husband a Smith and Wesson 9EZ for their wedding gift which was around 2 years ago, I also gave them another 9EZ which was mine when I upgraded to the Equalizer. A few months ago there was a shooting right by her husbands office building and since then she says she wants to start learning. However with just having a baby she has been super busy, but she is finally going to let me take her to the range this Friday. Any advise on making this a success?
LMAO I have a G22 gen 3 LE trade in that i replaced the extractor, barrel and took off that awful NY trigger spring as my bedside. Cost me $350 bucks total.
Real pro
I form opinions, glad mine match yours
I’m a 70 yo male, I’ve been shooting a pistol for almost a year. I have a Ruger Security 9 that I love but I’m having a difficult time finding a decent holster. I’m slightly overweight so that seems to be a problem for me. I have my NYS CCW and also my PA CCW. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated!
Chuck
I bought a crossbreed reckoning and a crossbreed belt. My biggest problem is my pants alway sag in the back. Guess I should do some squats.
I have a Smith and Wesson M&P 9 that is a great home defense weapon, but to big for CCW. For CCW, I carry a Smith and Wesson Equalizer in a Sneaky Pete holster. I'm 74, do the EZ rack is convenient. I'm chunky so IWB is not comfortable. I cannot wear my shirt tail out, so Sneaky Pete is great for concealing OWB. Only another SP carrier who recognizes the trademark will know you are carrying.
Thoughts on versa carry
What’s your opinion on We The People Holsters?
