- When I was a kid I always dreamed of living a life similar to this. Travelling by foot from town to town, and sleeping out along the way.
I decided to make a short video depicting how I imagine that lifestyle would look.
I set out to the woods with a minimal kit and had a very pleasant camping experience.
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below.
As always, thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy.

I totally agree!
The best content is provided by the ones that don't make it about themselves or their products.
Thank you.
I really enjoyed your video, reminds me of my boyhood, Me and sometimes som of my friends would camp out over night near a river to our farm and do just what you are doing, bring our sleeping bags, some food and a knife and hatchet, We would make a "teepee" out of willow branches and cook our meal over a camp fire. The river was near us and we would catch fish for our meal. Ah those were wonderful carefree days ! Thanks for the memories
This is my idea of a perfect wild camping video. More like this, please. Very well done.
Thank you so much for your kind words! More coming soon!
Take care!
Listening to the sound of nature is so relaxing. great vid man
Praise our Father. It is so awe inspiring to see all that He has given us. We are raised to believe in this system of worldly consumption, when in truth this is the jewel of our life; alone to pray, appreciate , and live simply.I have lived Years this way, and I am only home when I unplug and return to it to heal and contemplate how blessed we are, and how thankful our hearts should be. This is a living prayer of thanks...at least to me.Thank you for sharing your perfect spot in our home.
Thank you for your insight and for watching.
Take care and God bless!
The dream. I love the simplicity and satisfaction.
Hello from Oklahoma! Great video! Love the simplicity of it all. Reminds me of when I was a young man. It was hotdogs or spam back then, usually with a can of beans. I'd use an old can with wire around it to boil water. In the morning, pbj we packed in or wait till we got home. Our bicycles were our mode of transport to the river. That was in Nebraska. Here in Oklahoma 40 years later, I would be afraid to try this. By the time you hiked to the river bank you would be covered by chiggers and ticks. Not to mention the god awful heat! Thanks for jarring this old mans memory to some good times! God Bless!
Thank you for sharing your story, I love hearing about peoples past adventures.
I really appreciate you watching. Take care and God bless!
Where at in Nebraska?
Just wondering because 40 years ago I was doing the same thing! Big Nemaha River.
Double D
Yeah, I don’t remember bugs being an issue when I was young. But today if I went out to camp like I used to, I would be eaten alive by all the bugs. I wonder why that changed?
Double D hey do you watch the carpebagger u tube channel he went to the SPAM Museum in Minnesota to funny ya gotta check it out for real THE CARPETBAGGER all Museum's around the USA
Low tech gear, great images and sounds, no blabla, absolutely loved it!
Enjoyed! Steak, pipe, sippin' beverage. Very relaxing. Good stuff my friend!
The simplicity of this whole outing makes me want to get out, too. Nicely done.
Well done! Love the no music, just nature. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Life can be busy and complicated, but mostly because we make it that way. Your videos are a perfect example of deviation from the norm, something we should all do more often. I sure miss the days when I went out West camping with my family, time to get back out there! Thanks for the great video Ryley! LAL
Thank you for your kind words AL!
Have to get the family together and go for a camping trip!
Take care and happy trails! 🌲🌲🌲
Slowly becoming a favorite channel of mine
I've been exploring other Channels similar to your own. There is a lot of great content in many different channels, and I've learned things here and there from them all. However, non are quite as refreshing as yours. For me, the lack of dialog in some of your trip videos brings such a greater sense of peace with where you are and what you do. I find that I keep coming back for more of the videos you post. Keep it up!
Very good work Sir. I like your style !! Minimalist "hobo" is very cool.
Thanks for sharing 😃😉😎
Magnificent beard mate.
Great idea for a video! Well done, felt like I was there.

I grow more fond of your videos all the time Riley. You've got 100k subs well within reach. Keep up the great work!
A really good source for making char is the oil lamp wicking available at most hardware stores. It's thick, durable and totally made of natural materials.
Awesome video, definitely a lesson in "Do more with less." Inspiring...thank you for sharing!
Very simple overnight camp, with minimalist which makes it easy to get out and enjoy the wilderness. Great video thank you for sharing.
Great idea and bushcrafting! Thanks for sharing!
Great impressions. Thats a good way of spending some time. You show how it can be done man.

That was the perfect weekend !!

Thank youfor uploading and sharing !! Very nice video makes you want to travel like in the past.
Interesting frying pan! is that just a pounded piece of sheet metal?
Good camp site by the river. I’d have to stay there a little longer.
Great video, outstanding skill set, keep up the great work
Well done. It would make a person think you are homeless and just bumming around. Even if they bothered to notice the electronics you use. People draw conclusions , walking the Florida Trail some people ( apparently ) think backpackers are homeless from the looks they give you. Your outfit would panic them.... LOL
Thoroughly enjoyed it, many thanks for such a thoughtful and peaceful experience.
Thanks for leaving that beautiful place the way you found it. That was a nice time out.
Great video! Love the eggs packed in hay. And waking up with the bottle of whiskey lol. Great storytelling! Keep it up!
Ive been waiting for your camping since last week🙂
Thank you for waiting!! Really appreciate the support. Take care!
Surely you must be son of Eragon, free king of the middle earth!!! So says your love for woodland realm and your skilled craftsmanship!!!!
Loved it Dude. If you're ever in Arkansas I'll bring a few beers to put in the cold creek.
Beautiful place. Great video. Relax, calm.

Soo relaxing and peaceful 👍🏻👍🏻
Simple and wonderful to watch. I recently bought a wood burning stove that I use to cook those special meals with wood chips of apple, cherry or pecan. Fun with fire! Thanks for sharing with us.

I enjoy every time i watch ur videos it's relaxing.. love it
Much Respect brother stay blessed 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯
A great demonstration of how to much with a little. No special, high tech gear here. Yet, the simple kit, made of some commonly available items, with a little ingenuity made for an excellent experience in the woods. Not only surviving, but thriving in nature. I know that I will be rethinking my gear and looking to do a similar trip very soon. Thank you for sharing your adventure. - Tennessee Smoky
I really like this video! I'd love to see more of this kind of style of bushcrafting! Have a good day!

I love the steel cooking plate. How did you make it and what size is it? thanks for a great video.
I still dream of living a life like this.
Great great video wonderful example of simplicity you ever read "My Side Of The Mountain" I did when was a kid today I carry flint and steel myself.
So calm in Mother Nature
Liked and Subscribed.
You're doing what I bet most of us that like camping wish we could still do. I solo camped by the river near the woods on a moonless night. Peaceful, until the coyotes started getting close. Once it becomes total darkness, there's no hiking out. It's not for everyone. Nothing like a nice campfire to keep you company.
Keep doing what you're doing, I'll be watching. I can see how much you enjoy doing this. I miss it myself. Looking forward to another one of your adventures.
Wonderful video , it take me back when I was young finishing I high school and had no Goals in Life for a jobs no training and my Dad telling me as soon as i finish High school I was going out door !
So it was my last year in school, I'd watch movie like Jeremiah Johnson and get books on hiking camping to prepare myself to live in the woods ( back in 1977 )
Thank GOD that didn't happen
But now and then I still think about those days ! Happy trails to you !
That when I was a Lost Chamaquito
( Lost Kid )
I love the Hobo theme. Please make more Hobo videos.
