Yea yea that was like OH bAM!! she was so busted, and that judge is a a real,, well let's say a very stern judge. LOL
Just the fact that the ONLY thing she wanted to tell the Judge when asked if she had any comments behind sentencing…..was that she somehow manipulated someone into agreeing that outpatient treatment would work for her….PROVES beyond any doubt in my mind that she wasn’t planning on staying clean for even 2 minutes. She isn’t ready and isn’t committed to changing. She WANTS that outpatient designation so she has the freedom to get high. Seen it a thousand times.
She will not stay clean from drugs until she hits Rock Bottom and asks for help. The court can order rehab but until she is ready nothing will help.
Sadly, you’re probably right. She needs to be inpatient. If she won’t agree to inpatient, then send her to jail & they will require she do a 12-step program there. So glad they’re keeping her in jail in Kansas till she can get moved to wherever she’s going to do inpatient drug treatment. Let her cool her heels a bit.
@@judyoneal788712-step has been proven ineffective for opioid addicts. It's better for alcoholics, but it doesn't work on opioids. She needs a combination of medicinal and psychological treatment, with DBT therapy for both the addiction and the underlying psychological issues that made it that likely in the first place.

To be fair, women often do receive lighter sentences than men. So, if she's been let off easy in the past, she likely expected the same here.

She is sooooooooooooooo not ready to give that life up. She needs to go to intensive inpatient, a half way house, then a 3/4 way house with out patient and probation.

They should show her a photo of her when using and a photo of how she looks now. You can probably see a huge difference but I don't think even that will get the point across. All she wants is drugs and a dude from another state that will let her move in
I like how she was so sure she'd get out immediately after sentencing that she booked an airline ticket. Or at least claims she did -- she might be playing a sympathy card. Did she think the courts systems work on the honor system?
Well for a long it time it did with her.
They do until you go interstate, then it's no longer under a single judge's jurisdiction. You literally saw in the first video that the judge was going to let her go without a warrant (despite breaking bond repeatedly) until that officer stated she was actually lying and was out of state. So that judge actually had unilateral control over her being in jail or not.
These people are trying to save her life but she thinks they're just trying to inconvenience her.
It’s not their place to save her nor is it my tax dollars place to help her. She wants to do drugs and waste her life so be it.

No sorry, I don't think that's entirely true, I think her plan was based on what she was told. I'm a 14yr recovered addict and i went through this kinda stuff and you are told so many different things by so many people like officers, lawyer, inmates, judge, counselors overseeing the drug assessments and stuff... it definitely messes with you when you believe what you're told and then find out it was incorrect! Or when you're told something Different by every single person! 🤦🏼♀️ You just can't listen to everything you're told in there because every case is different and sometimes they meet inmates that have the same charge as them & hear how their case went and think it will be the same and its not! Also every habitual inmate in there thinks they are a jailhouse lawyer and will tell you so much stuff about your charge and she's so young and probably naive and listened to the wrong people and had a different outcome and plan based on that, in her mind. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

Her co-defendant died from an apparent heart attack at the age of 38. He graduated from drug court in 2020, in Alaska. He obviously relapsed. My guess is he damaged his organs from drug abuse. He had a family. Just sad all the way around. I really hope she takes the help seriously. This is her chance. I hope she doesn't waste it!
A friend of mine died at a rehab from a heart attack. She was 32.

She’s done nothing but lied 🤥 to the court, her attorneys, and to her family and she’s repeatedly failed to go to court and to her probation officer meetings. She cannot be trusted and she’s brought everything on herself. If her lawyer seems ( to you) that he stopped playing his game then what does she look like??? She’s not taking ANYTHING seriously including her own life. She’s a compulsive liar 🤥, and she’s a drug addict and at this moment there’s absolutely nothing important to her but drugs and lying

Sometimes you can’t heal in the place that made you sick. As a former addict, the best decision I ever made was to leave the place that made me sick to begin with. Even if that means moving just a town away. I say let the girl heal in another state. Don’t send her home. Let her at least have a chance

Yes!!!!! If anyone should not have a child anytime soon, it's this young lady. She can't even take care of herself, always looking for someone to do that job. First, she needs to stand on her own two feet, act like an adult.
Please keep in mind that in some states, abortions are prohibited regardless of circumstance after a little as 6 weeks. Before many women, especially first time mothers, are even aware they are pregnant. Some of the same states making abortion nearly impossible to get are also moving to block access to contraceptives. In this case, I doubt she could be trusted to use them correctly.
If companies are allowed to refuse covering contraceptives in their insurance policies for employees, states may attempt to also make them available. I live in Texas, so I am more aware of the extra barriers women have in some states compared to others. In this particular case, IF she goes to Washington state, most of those barriers won’t exist. Right now Kansas also seems to be a safe place for pregnant women whether they intend to go to term or terminate as early as possible. Some states like Texas, have not extended Medicaid available under “Obamacare.”
If her “boyfriend” can afford the Hyatt (even though it is hardly the ritziest accommodations available) AND he is not a similar misfit, maybe she won’t have all these problems. With someone she met on line and everything else she has been involved in, there is no way to know what the facts are in that situation. She doesn’t have a good track record.

Sad to say, but I think we will be seeing her again. Her reaction to being placed in a residential recovery unit was very telling. If I had the addiction monkey on my back and was serious about my recovery, I'd be all over that as an option. All in all she got a pretty good deal which focuses on her recovery and very little in the way of actual punishment.
possibly, if she doesnt die from an OD or other complication of IV drug abuse first, they dont tend to survive very long in my experience :(

Seattle has been handing out free drugs rather than arrest since the early 80s! I don't know of 1 success case out of that logic! I have many cases of successful weaning & tough love into recovery! Extremely thankful my county is now getting tougher & working with resources to either jail or go into treatment! The enabling has turned our once beautiful state & cities into feces & drug infested dung heaps, created much more mental illness, & deaths!
Did you expect her to jump for joy over an upcoming program after learning that her expectation of imminent release, unfounded as it may be, was just trampled to death shortly before? She was crushed with disappointment. I'm surprised she held her emotions in check as well as she did.
If you haven't been addicted you have no idea how you'd respond. It changes you. How you perceive, how you think, how you feel about yourself and everything else. Your confidence may be shot and your hope perhaps collapsed. Recovery may seem unreachable and your will may be compromised making it appear all the more distant. So, don't be so sure.
I really would love to see her change her ways and be good but they all say she is doing so much better. Then she says I was told intense outpatient not inpatient. That’s right there is the drugs always being there trying to get the best of it. I am 10 years sober and I see a lot of playing and manipulation

But seriously I have one in my basement I sit in to watch TV LOL. The higher end vintage ones from the 1950’s on back are actually really comfortable with a couple modifications, mostly better upholstery and more foam in the seat and back and head rests. Mine has the brass footplate to rest your feet on and goes up/down and has a big handle for that function and one to lock and unlock the recline that you can operate while sitting.

She’ll be part of the circus in Washington. Basically, Washington POs seem to get kickback from court appointed treatment and will violate in a second, jail, swing back to treatment, rinse repeat. Treatment consists of group video watching for counseling. Recitative rate from state sponsored rehab/treatment is 83% 🤦🏼♀️ But HIGHLY funded, next to the one way out of state bus tickets anywhere for the homeless and petty crime offenders.

If she wants to go to Washington she better be prepared to work her ass off. Probation requires zoom treatment of 3hrs/3 days a week for 9x days, 2hrs/2 days week for 60, and 1.5/1 day a week until they feel like releasing you but usually 30 days, must participate in all zoom calls and complete a monthly in person session. Random UAs with treatment facility, PO once a month with random UA’s, full time employment, attend 5 AA meetings a week or comparable, court appearances for updates, pay your fines, pay your parole fee, additional case specific requirements. They don’t f around, if you’re not working to be productive, they will penalize you. If you get a PO that is jaded and sick of getting burned, you will go back to jail.
We know a young woman going through this now and sadly, this is the only way she was going to get her crap together but I swear at times it seems like they want her to mess up somewhere so they can penalize her. When she had treatment three times a week and a full time job she was so exhausted she got sick and stressed the whole time she would lose the job she’d only had for a few months if she didn’t go anyway. Thank Heaven the supervisor saw her as more of a liability to her co workers and sent her home for the week to get better without fear. She had to move home with her parents in order to have a solid support system. I’m happy to see her getting better each month and more back to her old self. Hers is an alcohol issue. I have always thought drugs were worse but after talking to her and hearing the anxiety she had the first 3-4 months just walking into a gas station with alcohol all around her is eye opening. Alcohol is so acceptable in society compared to drugs, yet just as destructive, and just as unpredictable as far as when you choose it and it chooses you.
Many prayers for any of you that have had the struggle of addiction. My heart goes out to you.
Also understand that I know we all choose our own path and make our own choices. There by the grace of God go I. That being said, don’t lie to a judge and expect lenience or understanding. This chick literally screwed her own mother out of $7500, who I. Their right mind thinks this girl isn’t going to screw over court decrees?

but i can see so much of myself in her and i can TELL she ain’t gunna get sober anytime soon let alone right now with the exception of the forced sobriety in jail lol.
the HOUR within my last release from custody i got high. but the day after that i had scheduled myself (from jail) to start my required outpatient program and have been sober ever since that day!

The fact that she needed to point out that she was told intense outpatient and not impatient is proof that she hasn't had enough. She is still trying to pull the strings in a way that she is trying to figure out a way that she can not have to be locked up in jail or locked up in a inpatient treatment. As a recovering junkie myself, I know how damn hard it can be and if you are not all in with getting clean, it's a very tough fight to win. But it is much easier to take the life raft that the courts are trying to offer it saved my life and those that I love the most. I wish her the best.

Great follow up on this case, OSG! And she is going to eventually transfer via Interstate Compact- I worked that here in Texas for almost 15 years. It is a complex process and the receiving state must investigate and then approve the transfer.

This is sad. She really thought she would be out of jail and using by the end of the day. I hope she proves us all wrong and is able to get the treatment she really needs. She has repeatedly lied and run from court across state borders. With that high of a risk assessment and no stable home environment, the odds are high that she will most likely run from any treatment center and end up back in a toxic self-destructive cycle. Can’t help but think the “online boyfriend” is sketchy with her record and history.

I was on a 51/50 and they wouldn’t let me go home to get clothes before I was transferred to treatment. I had zero legal troubles too. They didn’t want me going home/leaving the safety of the facilities for fear I’d use again or self delete. I was bummed about it, but grateful in the long run.

The problem is she doesn't have anywhere else to go. Anywhere is better than nowhere when you're a homeless addict in trouble with the law and you have to have an address immediately.
I've been there. It's a vicious circle. I was 21. I was put on probation because of a drug possession charge. I was a homeless addict who had burnt all bridges with family and friends, but I needed an address immediately in order to be compliant with probation. They wouldn't help me get into a shelter or rehab. I moved in with a man 21 years older than I was who I barely knew.
Luckily, he ended up being a good person who honestly only wanted to help me. He gave me the step up that I needed. I got lucky.
It's even worse when you're being released straight from jail. When you're taken in you lose everything because you don't have anywhere to leave the little bit that you had. You're released with no money, no ID, no phone, no clothing, no home. Literally nothing. Sit and think about all the little things you do every day down to using the bathroom when you need to. All the things you take for granted.
I know to someone who hasn't been through this it's hard to understand, but when you're left with nothing what do you do? It might be your fault this has happened, but how do you get out of it even if you want to? You say "go get a job". How? You don't have an ID. You don't have a birth certificate or social security card to get an ID. You don't have the money to get a birth certificate. You can't take a shower. If you do accumulate a few outfits and hygiene products what do you do with them when you go to job interviews? How do you get a call back from a job? What address and phone number do you give them? There are some resources available, but those are few and far between and stretched thin.
This is why people reoffend. They revert back to their old ways of getting money to survive and end up not reporting to probation because you don't have a way to even get a phone call about when you have to report. Sometimes it really is impossible. The stars have to align just right in order to really restart your life.

I still believe that instead of treating addiction as a crime, it should be treated as a public health problem. We should be spending more on rehabs and shelters, and less on prisons.
