Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

It'd be cool if the devs added a seeking block, like a rotation sensor but seeks enemies, like a compass block but follows the enemies
maybe like logic block that inputs 1 or 0 if its facing an enemy

Yes, and you can make weapons with them, such as missiles and torpedos! Maybe even a vehicle that in itself is a giant rocket, launches way up into the air then comes down seeking a target, loaded with tnt.

Here's a small idea for another PvP challenge, though it would be more suitable for High Seas.
Anti-Submarine Warfare. Either with bomber planes or warships. Been a while since Scrapman was messing with timed dynamite launchers.
Sounds fun. I wonder if bombs work underwater. 🤔

Scrapman was actually too fast to get reliable bomb hits, his jet’s speed made the bombs have a greater distance between each other once they hit the water. Yuzei’s bombs never hit at all because he was just bad at lining up the shot, but that means that a little more practice could have made him a more effective bomber than Scrapman

Some tips regarding bomb bays:
The effectiveness of them is extremely dependant on your speed. Unlike missiles, which maintain your momentum for a faster velocity, it's better to be a slow bomber to group bombs together. It also is better to have multiple bomb bays, with some having a delay. What you set the delay to depends on the number of bomb bays and your speed: if you have two bomb bays and/or a fast plane, set one bay to a 0.125 second delay. This will double the fire rate of bombs to leave zero gap in your bombing runs, but the area the bombing run covers will still be the same. If you have a slower plane and 3-5 bays, set a one second delay between each of them. This will greatly extend the duration of your bombing run and make timing MUCH easier. If you have 5 bomb bays you can even have an infinite bombing run. As for how you should bomb, faster planes should go for a low approach to maximize accuracy (but don't dive bomb, it will just get yourself blown up). For slow planes, high altitude bombing is an excellent option. Any AA guns the enemy has will suffer from bullet spread at that range, and the extra bomb bays you have makes it far easier to land hits. In fact, for high altitude bombing, I would highly recommend adding a stripe or arrow decal to the middle of your plane because it makes lining up runs ten times easier.

I love that Yzuei's designs are always super realistic (although maybe a little small? It makes sense for this race since smaller means harder to hit) it's great contrast to Scrapman's Function over Beauty designs lol
It would be cool if you could change the config of the spawn rate of the enemy bot dogfighters in the airborne expansion map and make a huge defensive bomber plane to defend and survive against countless enemy dogfighters until eventually being shot down our of the skies

Yzuei's plane looks like the ho229, the most recent German plane from ww2, ScrapMan's plane looks more like an Bombardier Global 6000, just the vertical elevator its on an other location
It has propellers on the back so looks more like YB-35

Was trying to think of any sort of combat style challenges. A forts style Shop versus a fortress might be interesting but hard to implement... Well coastal defenses would need to be at least 4 players, either 2v2 or 3v1 forts having 3 coastal defenses versus a battleship?
It would be cool to see tanks versus planes! Of course the plane would have to be not too strong and the tanks would have to be fast. If you had a group of 4, you could do a 2v2, 1 plane and 1 tank verus another pair. Would be cool!

I haven’t watched you in awhile, glad I found this video so I can start watching again. I don’t know if you’ve done this, but you should do a tank vs tank, jet vs jet, ship vs ship, ect.
Yzuei is quickly becoming one of my favourite builders to watch for all his realistic looking replicas of stuff.
But I love your aesthetic too scrapman. Taking inspiration from real world vehicles then adding over the top functions to it for a good mix of realism and fantasy. The recent biplane from your airborne expansion videos is one of my favourites. If you coloured your creations with black, green, and copper, they would just be steampunk to me.
I wanna see these with a copilot as a gunner. I think it would make it more interesting.

Tip: add a camera block on the rotating cannons so you dont need to have the camera under the sea all the time.
Scrap man should've used the recoil to turn easier, and that can be said for a lot of challenges

As a world of warships junkie (about a year in), these types of battles are awesome, and bigger ships/battles would be awesome! If possible performance wise.
I'd love to see this in a 2v2 version where it's one vehicle and one person shoots and the other one drives

Ooh, another challenge would be Submarines vs Planes, except the Subs are the ones trying to attack the planes. So they'll likely have to leap out of the water to get better aim.
Basically, bird vs fish.
Maybe use the new camera block on your weapons next time, it would help. Or even use 2 one for the weapons and the other in the front to easly toggle between them

The music in the video reminds me of air attack 2 and i think its awesome how much it relates to this.
3 player idea: one player builds a cargo ship, one player builds an attack submarine with the goal to destroy the cargo ship, and the final player builds a warship to escort the cargo ship. The sub and warship can repair and respawn.
this was epic, you need to do it with a bigger and slowe ship

a few ideas here:
1: use countermeasures, just a pies detached in right way can save you.
2: try using the "depth charges" dynamyte that floats on water.
3: try to place minigun on back of plane, i don`t know would it work ok.

You should add a distance or time penalty to the attacker each time their plane is shot down or crashes. Love these trailmakers battles.

You need to do a speedboat chase. Chaser only gets a forward facing smart cannon and/or minigun. Target only gets weapons that can't face forward

Does the bomb bay maybe work the same way as dynamite? It would explain why the plane exploded so often. You always hit in the centre where it is placed.
