Johnny Mathis deserving of all awards, I don't understand how until now he hasn't received an Oscar for his work as a whole, with his wonderful voice that enchanted so many Presidents of so many countries.

I have loved this iconic and beautiful man since the day I heard his unmistakable voice in a record shop in Peascod Street, Windsor.......(pronounce Peascod as Pesskut). I asked who the singer was, and, as the saying goes, that was that!....Apart from my husband, Tony, I have loved Johnny for all my adult life. There is no end in sight for either of these beautiful men in my life.....and so it will remain. Thanks for allowing me to express my feelings on your great site.
Such a well-deserved honor!!!! I also expect to see Johnny Mathis being among the next Kennedy Center Honorees....and receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. On my "bucket list", I have two wishes.... One, to dance with Fred Astaire and Two, to sing a duet with Johnny Mathis! For the first, I'll have to wait until the next world. Phil - you are right...we're amateurs trying to learn... we had to capture the precious moments with Johnny, who was so kind and gracious with us. We are not professionals, don't pretend to be, just want to capture the moments.
No one has ever come close to this icon. No one ever will his music his remarkable concert performances and the greatest and most beautiful voice of all time will never be matched. Barbara Streisand once said "there are many good singers; there are a few great singers and then there is Jonny Mathis". How true. Heavenly indeed

I'm confused, is this interviewer serious? His mannerisms, style of dress and nervous energy is very uncomfortable for a viewer to watch not to mention the audio is not even connected to the microphone he carries and the camera work is like that of a novice. I'm not trying to be negative but as a past working professional in broadcast I wanted to comfort Johnny for having to go through this. You can see Johnny is being gracious but Dion was having no part of it. Sorry, just not professional.

Johnny is in a league of his own! The absolute best! He's beautiful inside and out.
I think the entire industry needs to give thanks to Johnny! Just as they have done Patti, Chaka, and the other legends. He is a legend!
