The Fel Reaver was made to fight off bots that were rampant in Vanilla. Blizzard literally created a bot to kill bots.

Wasn't for bots, or they would have been in level 70 zones thats where all the bots where floating underground taking ores and herb
@@mattwroe4776 Nope, it was for bots. Bots were not just used for gold farming back then. There were players botting purely for XP to level characters and skip the 1-70 grind that took several days of /played either for personal use or to sell the account. That Fel Reaver would kill bots that were level 58-64 as a sort of upstream filter. While every actual player would run away from the massive Fel Reaver, I'd see bots run TOWARDS the Reaver, get one shot, and repeat until their armor was broken. It was super obvious to weed out bots that way just from me seeing it in-game, and my suspicion was that Blizzard searched the Fel Reaver's logs like this to start investigating accounts and hand out bans.
There was also a giant worm in Hellfire that travels underground thats un-targetable and can only be seen by the graphic of rocks moving above it. It intersects packs of mobs in several locations. That also killed a lot of bots.
I don't think it was Blizzard's attempt at an 'end-all, be-all' solution to dealing with bots. But these are cases of Blizzard experimenting with automated ways to deal with bots back in 2006/2007.

The road of draenai bones might be a reference to the highway of bones in Russia, where they buried prisoners who died working on it under the highway...

Wrong. You actually have to kill it to use as a forge for a key that I don't remember for where it was.
Although, blizzard gave no fucks for key collectors like myself, there are a bunch of people that enjoyed collecting those keys and being actually useful in more than their group roles of DPS, Tanker and/or healer.

Didn’t know Ner’zhul opened the portal? It’s a huge part of Warcraft lore. It was orchestrated by him, Kil’Jaeden and Medivh who was corrupted by Sargeras. Even in Cavers of Time there is an instance that shows it. But the Shine on You Crazy Diamond I never would have guessed but now I hear it. That’s pretty cool
