    The thing with "invisible" men not having empathy for the women who come to be in their position is that it isn't just "oh this person is now struggling with what I used to." It is more like "the exact person who shit on me for not making enough, being tall enough, or being good enough in general, now wants that empathy."

      theyre *demanding* what they refuse to others. even if you show compassion to those women, its not empathy, because empathy goes both ways. they still wont give "empathy" to men even if everyone in the world goes "oh you poor thing". theres nothing wrong with allowing a hypocrite to get their just desserts, in fact doing the opposite would be enabling bad behaviour.
      theyre not sorry for the way they treated others, theyre just sorry they ran out of the free trial.

      Just like those rich girls think they are entitled to a tall, handsome, wealthy man. Men also think they are entitled to beautiful women and should be able to have sex with them anytime they want, and that they will be subservient and make them sandwiches whenever they desire. Both attitudes are ignorant when it comes to building a lasting relationship. Most people grow out of this by their mid-twenties. The ones who cannot figure it out are terminally lonely, and that goes for both genders.
      Should you feel empathy for people who are socially inept, and cannot figure out how to build relationships even though their own behavior is what led to this outcome? Yes, absolutely. Social skills are learned and generations of poor examples, and shitty media have taught people bad skills, and being empathetic to people who have been taught poorly is how we help people out of those situations. Thinking of all these lonely people as lost causes, does nothing to help anyone, and only serves to make the problem worse.

    23:15 See, Jennie, if you go by your analogy, those women have been making fun of the disabled their entire lives and now they got in a car accident and became disabled themselves.
    It's pretty hard to feel sorry for someone like that, you just think "karma's only a bitch if you are one yourself."

    • @darthgorbag
      @darthgorbag Před 5 měsíci

      The analogy also effectively implies that all men (save for the top 1%) are disabled, and there for "being male" is a disability.
      "Female privilege" is a thing that women do have; it's tied to physical beauty and it's strongest at the beginning (~ the first years of adulthood) but gets continually weaker over time, with a sudden big drop-off called "the wall" (usually around 35-40).
      Men do not have this type of natural, unearned privilege. When a woman hits the wall, she starts losing this advantage over men and in at least that way the genders start becoming a lot more equal. Women who used to get by on their looks start having to put more effort into earning a living, like men always have been from the start. It's not "becoming disabled" for those women to be brought down to mens' level. It's "becoming normal"

    • @generalgrievous4254
      @generalgrievous4254 Před 5 měsíci

      She doesn’t have any empathy. Despite the validity of her point, the fact that it came from *her* (a woman) implies an expectancy of empathy from men who suffer from this, when in reality they (the women) are deserving of none.

    • @OmniscientlyMe
      @OmniscientlyMe Před 5 měsíci

    • @Eric-vh4qg
      @Eric-vh4qg Před 5 měsíci +11

      This is not true at all. Most guys find relationships eventually. While the rate of not being married by mid-life has increased by 10% over the last century (it's now ~27%). This would mean that the vast majority 63% are married. Of the 27% who never marry, only a third of them say they have never been in a relationship, and that goes for both men and women (this also implies that while they didn't marry, the majority have had relationships).
      So, the truly invisible people are pretty equally men and women, and all the "normal guys" who think they are invisible, are just young socially awkward boys who don't know how to shoot their shot, but eventually figure it out. In other words, it's a skill issue.

    22:18 Not only is this dude 💯 % correct but you can also say women are only compassionate when it serves their purpose. I’ve seen women be highly critical of men and not have an ounce of compassion for anything that has gone through that mans life. A woman will insult you to your face and not bat an eye because rarely do her actions have a reaction and when it does they say it was unprovoked. When a man says something out of place or says something that is wrong or negative he immediately knows that there are consequences for it. The reason is because women don’t learn accountability growing up but men do; so, why does a man not have empathy when someone is past their wall and now has to deal with loneliness and lack of attraction? That’s the easiest answer, because he has exhausted all his empathy on others he has zero ducks to give, change that “d” for an “f”. 🤔

    If not showing empathy towards a man when it happens to is normal, why would they suddenly think to be empathetic towards a woman going through it instead of being told to suck it up?
    People can empathize with a disease because that is normalized and can happen to anyone so people show empathy because they would like to receive it if it happens to them or they genuinely care.
    But if a guy goes 30 years without women being empathetic, especially since it is at least in part due to the choices of women/mindset of women, why would they be empathetic instead of spiteful?
    Imagine a group of billionaires which has a mix of people, some who abuse the poor and others that try to be kind. Now imagine one of them becomes poor and you don't know if they were cruel or not, you just know where they were and what they had. How much empathy would you show?

    The important distinction in the empathy argument is "Empathy vs. Sympathy" because you can feel sympathy for someone's situation without understanding it, but almost no man can understand what it's like to drown in attention for decades then become invisible. Empathy is rooted in understanding, so you have to understand to empathize. Also, as men predominately gravitate towards logic, most men by that time would say "she had plenty of opportunities to find a good man, and decided to keep playing the field until she got benched. She chose this path."
    Not condoning or condemning any specific mindset here, just compulsory clarification in action. Figured it might help Jeannie understand why Henry doesn't see it the same way.

    As someone pointed out on a thread that 'Dragonshout' image was posted on, Dragonrend was basically entirely new dragon words. So you were yelling words at the dragons that they simply couldn't comprehend the meaning of so they had to land to get their heads around them.
    Its like if the mouse ran up to you and yelled something at you so profound you were immediately forced to sit down with your head in your hands as you think through it.

    1:40 - Glad to see the guy finding his passion after the abrupt end of his career as an adventurer like you.

    3:28 - What if she got her wish? Would she credit her friend for making her wish come true, just because she held the tube?
    3:59 - Wait, is this suddenly r/yesyesno?
    4:10 - Sounds like you have this all planned out, bro.
    5:15 - Two out of five, Jeannie. You could at least use the lowest common denominator when you're talking about tramps' lowest common denominator.
    5:52 - Think of the months he saved. In a snap, he found out. Happy day!
    7:25 - Jeannie, no! If you tell everyone the secrets, they'll have to make stadiums clothing optional!
    8:01 - "Tell me the last ten digits of pi" would be a great way to ask for a mathematician's phone number. Also, if you don't catch on to the rizz, a good response would be "Pretty girthy, because the last digits of pi are squared."
    10:15 - Good smokescreen, Henry. That's how you deflect any suspicion that you watch cringy hentai. [Kai's head pops up in the background.]
    11:25 - Jeannie, let's not complain, huh? The last one was for you.
    11:40 - Clearly, this one is for Henry.
    12:50 - You're right, Jeannie. This is a clip from the show "Louie." But Henry is also right, and in that light this becomes actually funny.
    14:21 - No one knows you better than her, Henry.
    17:11 - You sure that's what everyone knows, Henry? So, no one is making plumbing jokes about pipe being laid. Now is not the time to abandon your smokescreen, brother.
    18:45 - How do you feel about your fanart then, Jeannie?
    20:46 - Sorry, Jeannie, that's false. The lot of em don't peak over the 8 mark, and one of them was scraping a 5. But their arrogance drops em all about 6 points.
    23:26 - If someone blessed to be hyper attractive isn't brimming with gratitude, he or she has a lot of work to do. No one is entitled to empathy.
    29:26 - [proud shoulder slap]
    30:35 - Sheesh. Young bucks these days.
    32:54 - Yeah, buddy. There's nothing wrong with wanting P cups, either. Dream big!

    @Aku9466 Před 5 měsíci +85

    Jeanie has a point on the empathy for women who no longer get the attention that they used to get when they were younger and prettier. Counterpoint, those women should’ve had empathy for the men in their daily lives that they ignored or disrespected because they weren’t tall enough, not rich enough, not handsome enough to even get the time of day from these same women. Treat others as you would have them treat you. You want to be treated with respect, kindness, and the common decency that humans all wish for and deserve? Then do it to others first. Don’t ask for something that you refuse to give to others.

    • @ivankawnartist
      @ivankawnartist Před 5 měsíci +8

      Of course, this assumes they never had empathy throughout their life. Each person's situation is different, obviously. The problem with these talks is that they always lead to a generalized outlook towards the targeted group as a whole, and that comes back around to defeating the entire point of arguing that "they had no empathy, why should men?" because now it's a psuedo-moral excuse to not have empathy AT ALL instead of be analytical of the situations where it's entirely unjustified to have that approach.

    • @Aku9466
      @Aku9466 Před 5 měsíci +21

      @@ivankawnartist true, but to demand empathy when you have never given any is the main point for me. Those who treat others with kindness from the start and get disrespected are different from those who acted like entitled fools for years until later on get hit with reality and realize how horrible they were too late. Looks fade, but the quality of your character and your reputation last a helluva long time.

    • @ivankawnartist
      @ivankawnartist Před 5 měsíci +5

      @@Aku9466 I don't recall where there was a demand for empathy, at least not in the point Jeannie was making. I'm seeing a lot of people talk about a demand, and I'm confused where that comes from. It seems to have been fabricated by the ones trying to defend being salty. I say being salty because, as we already discussed, there is nuance and not every woman is the same. So, viewing and treating them all the same is no better then when we see instances of females doing it to men. The blame game is for the birds. We all need to hold ourselves to higher standards, as well as hold fellow members of our gender accountable as well. Folks are too busy trying to tell the other gender how to act and not doing a better job on their own end of the deal. It's a tragedy, really.

    • @Aku9466
      @Aku9466 Před 5 měsíci +18

      @@ivankawnartist the number of “women facing reality” podcasts where these women talk about their insane standards for the men in their lives, most of which match up to the ones in this video, but getting so mad when men abandon them when they start to wrinkle, sag, gain weight, or just refuse to accept responsibility for themselves or their actions is where most of the demand argument comes from I think. They want all of the best in life and men and nothing else, and when they don’t get it or are told why they are wrong they take it so personally because they literally have nothing else but their OnlyFans followers and their looks, which might last after 35 but not likely.

    • @ivankawnartist
      @ivankawnartist Před 5 měsíci +7

      @@Aku9466 Let's not act like men don't have their shortcomings as well. We need to be fully honest and transparent if we're going to discuss such issues.
      The real issue lies with min the generalization of the genders. These are certain types of women seen in these shows. They're trying to produce content. They're not grabbing up your coworkers or your neighbors. Regardless of that fact, none of it matters because each of us as a person within our gender is not a cookie cutter version of other people of our gender. Not every guy has the dating habits of Leonardo DiCaprio. And not every woman thinks they're a God sent prize.
      This blame game nonsense is for the birds. People need to just look at each individual and assess them as a person. We need to stop letting some overly dramatic podcasts dictate how we approach one another. We also need to worry less about "what the other gender is doing" and focus on what we're doing individually.
