    This channel is mainly reviewing cars focusing on reliability and customer’s satisfaction. Most cars reviewed here are used cars which have been tested over time for reliability records. I don’t promote any particular brand of cars but I would like to give my audience the best and most honest opinion possible. While most cars reviewers never take into consideration of long term ownership and cost of keeping, I always point out the advantages and disadvantages of owning a car. I also don’t necessarily like new features which are prone to problems in the near future. I prefer cars that are long lasting with minimal cost of maintenance, road tax, and fuel consumption. However, recommendation of each car may vary depending on where you live considering there are difference in usage, road conditions, road tax, fuel cost and popularity of the cars.
    Thank you for watching and I hope you subscribe to channel of you value good and reliable cars like me.

    If you were to try and tie it up here in New Zealand with just a piece of string then it will fail a Warrant Of Fitness (WOF) Certificate. Which is a safety check list where a lot of things are checked over for it to pass a WOF. For instance like rust, structural damage, lighting, brakes just to name a few and all cars must go through it every 6 or 12 months. Depending on what year the car is. If it's under the year 2000 then you get a 6 month WOF and if its over the year 2000 then you're allowed a 12 month one. They're very strict when it comes to passing a WOF in our country but necessary for the safety of the people on our roads.

    I agree but I also want to add some. Interior plastic trims rattling, the windows also had a lot of play and rattle, purge valve broke every time a !non cautious! technician wants to replace the air filter. 2/3 of m13a swifts have winning noise from gearbox(only the manuals). Need to replace the imput shaft bearing witch is inside the gear box(having the gearbox out of the car make the fix expensive, the bearing only cost 30euros).Most of the owners change all the bearings, bolts and seals once they had their gearbox opened and they never had problems again.(cost is 200-450€) BUT! The most serious problem with these cars are the "ATE" abs units. Over 2.000 owners experienced problems and some of them had accidents. The brake pedal sunk and the car don't brake.Pumping the brake pedal save some people's from crashing. (There is no abs warning light). Suzuki never admit the gearboxes problems or abs modules malfunctions. The engine and all the electrical system is bulletproof.
    My opinion for Abs module is you should service the brakes by changing the brake fluid every year or two and always using a obd tool to properly bleed the abs module from any air or bad/rasty brake fluid. My opinion about gearbox issue is to prevent fast/hard shift from 1st to 2nd gear or downshift to 2nd from 3rd wth a lot rpms.

    I hope you got your money back on the unnecessary "repairs" to resolve the noise that you fixed yourself at no cost. Which the so called trained people could not do themselves. I remember I had a problem with a vehicle some years ago. The rear brakes would lock on when very little pressure was applied (but only sometimes) At one point it sent me spinning out of control through a red light across traffic lanes, Luckily for everyone at the time the road was empty. I had reported this to the mechanic before hand and he replaced the brake disks and pads at high cost to myself. which di not fix the very dangerous problem. I them took it for an MOT at the local authority who failed it and told me it was the load sensing valve seizing and all I needed to do was spray it with wd40. That actually worked!

  • @pursangedition
    @pursangedition Před 2 lety +5

    From what you've described about the sound coming on when moving off/coming to a stop/stationary, I'm surprised your mechanic saw fit to replace suspension components.
    Worn parts like strut mounts, stabiliser links, stabiliser bushings, lower control arms etc make a clunking noise only when driving over humps or uneven surfaces esp on one side.
    As for the o-ring, they must've discovered a leak around your VVT solenoid & decided to replace it.. though it's usually not critical or at all related to the sound.
    May be good to have your mechanic ride with you to understand the problem, and try sourcing your own parts if you can! Suzuki parts are generally affordable & widely available online in Malaysia 😁

    I'm sorry you've been through all of that. I'd complain to the garage and seek a refund (giving them the benefit of the doubt those parts may have needed replacing - did they show you the worn out/old parts?).
    I'd replace the wire with cable ties for a stronger fix - I wonder how the car left the factory, if a bracket has broken can Suzuki sell you an OEM replacement?
    Japanese spec paint? Always an issue, sadly, very thin too. Also several of the later Suzuki's have plastic interior trim rattles too especially around the parcel shelf and tailgate. Always best to buy a car mid way through its product lifecycle Eg when they've been released for 3 years as all the problems are ironed out. Later in the lifecycle you may get Eg nice alloys, tinted glass, updated stereo but the manufacturer will only be using up spare parts whilst in other, less obvious areas cutting costs/cost down.
    Mechanically Swift's are pretty good, your model did require a modification to the rear suspension iirc, as they had excessive tyre wear etc. Hopefully yours will be free from such.
    I've the later model, I can get 50 mpg without trying (if I did try I'm sure that 55mpg or more would be possible) on a good trip, although if on a motorway it's always best to use a higher octane perol as the fuel burn on lower octane petrol is higher so less MPGs are achieved. General running about and the lower octane fuel is fine, it's just at higher speed and revs higher octane fuel performs better and it cleans the fuel system as it has better additives etc.
    🤞✌️😊👍

    Any service centre or good workshop for suzuki swift in Kuching area.

    • @wowcarwow
      @wowcarwow  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi. There is one Suzuki workshop called Rhino Automart S/B located at Tun Jungah. But I normally take all cars to Sun Lun. I think they do a good job. They can always order parts if they don’t have. The bigger problem I find in most mechanic is always diagnosing the problem. They never really know exactly what the problem is. They normally guess and often times it’s wrong and it does cost money when they make the wrong guess.

    Your swift has a problem.. No1. The owner.. no.2, if the owner spends a lot to fix but the noise is never go away?.. then the owner is still to blame.. the mechanic replaced new parts..why would a mechanic repair something with a piece of a garden wire? See the owner is the issue here..

      @@wowcarwow Peugeot is not a bad car, once you own one, you gonna love it dearly sir. Its not that bad but you gotta bear the wear n tear parts more often compared to cheap Japanese cars. Replacement parts aren’t that cheap compared to most Japanese cars but no worries, just find a real Peugeot mechanic for peace of mind, then your Peugeot is good to go as new. I own 3 Peugeot myself and they are superb, mostly the ones with 1.6THP engine 😃
