Baat Chad Suhat Nagar | Odissi Dance

Bat Chad Suhat Nagar is a piece based on a light and playful Odia song by poet Banamali Das.
This is a song of mischief, pranks, demure desire, beseeching … but at the very core it's a song of devotion. Poet Banamali’s devotion to his beloved Suhat Nagar, Giridhari- Krishna.
Radha is enroute to the banks of river Yamuna to fetch water.
Lost in her own world,she is startled as Krishna appears right in front of her out of thin air, blocking the narrow path ahead of her.
Although pleased deep down at the sight of Krishna, she is also pressed with her homely duties.
She asks him to free her path and let her go.
But we all know our charming prankster... of course, he won't let her go so easily, would he?
