One things that always gets me is that, ever since 2018, there are people who genuinely think that Michael LITERALLY has been stalking Laurie Strode for 40 years! They don't know about the gap years between 4 - 6 and think it's all one big timeline of events and I find it hilarious. However at times it does activate the nerd within me and cause me to roll my eyes because they don't know. 🤣
I remember I was at the opening night of Halloween Kills and guy yells out “Damn It I Thought Paul Rudd Was In This What A Waste Of Money “ 😂
He funny as fuck🤣🤣🤣🤣
7:38 "... And we'd be there!" LOL! So true~!
The news guy probably got his info about the Shatner mask from the Big Bang Theory. Every time I watch their Halloween episode and Leonard says the Michael mask is a Shatner mask turned inside out.I scream at the set, "not inside out painted refrigerator white!"
It’s funny, when I saw Halloween (2018) in theaters, I went with some friends and when I realized that Michael’s first onscreen victim was going to be that kid in the car, I had a visceral reaction like I was excited because I took the scene as a “the gloves are off” type of moment for the movie. One of my friends looked at me like I was crazy and asked why I was so excited and I said, “Because Michael has never killed a young child in any of the other movies. So this tells me that he’s not fucking around in this one!” Again, my friends looked at my like I was a psycho😂
Great story, brother. You are absolutely right with your point here. Hilarious too. 😂
I remember in the theater of Halloween 2018, after the film someone said “damnnn Michael Myers killed like 3 people😢” I guess he didn’t watch the film! And would’ve been dissappointed with the 1978 film ahahahaha
Had a teacher think that 2018 was a sequel to H20 and not the original, and was very confused when explaining the timelines
My brother still thinks Michael Myers wears a hockey mask😅
When Im in public and I'm wearing my myers attire particularly my bow tie, and people are like oh Jason that's cool, that always upsets me lol in my mind I'm like you're disrespecting the 🐐!
agree...that ship has sailed for the general public for a part 2 to 4. there's not enough of us hardcore fans to support that financial burden.
Interviewer: Do people put on hockey masks whenever they see you?
Jamie Lee Curtis: Wrong movie babe.
Back in 2001 when Fellowship of the Ring came out I loudly said in the theatre after the film ended while everyone was filing out 'well, it was pretty good but I can't believe they killed off Dumbledore in this one' just to be annoying. I got some extremely evil looks from people and I thought it was so hilarious at the time. What an obnoxious 17 year old I was 😂😂...
Dressed up as Michael for Halloween last year and the kids who kept coming to my door trick n treated all know who I was and praised it here in the UK so the upcoming generation are well educated
Dave, I can see you now raging in your car to the radio hosts butchering the information lol. To us this is everyday culture but to most people it's just random did you know facts lol. Thanks for the laugh, Dave!
This totally made my day. Thanks Dave
After a long day, this video made me laugh! Thanks Dave!!
Pretty much hit the nail on the head with this one. Dressing up as Myers for Halloween I'd always get referred to as Jason lol, it's not that surprising as you've mentioned despite how many Halloween and horror fans there are online, we are relatively niche in the grand scheme of things.
A William Shatner mask turned inside out??? Lol, I wonder where he got that idea from. That would mean the Myers mask would be completely bald. Dave, depending on what talk show it was, it might be archived and able to be listened to online.
Don’t remind us of that awful ET interview with Jamie Lee Curtis back in 2018. I cringe all the time.
Once while watching Halloween, in the scene when he disguises himself as a ghost with Bob's glasses and sneaks up on Linda, my grandmother watched the scene with me and she said, "Watch out! Freddy's behind you!" 😄 Also, I think Peeping Tom came out before Psycho, although it's less well-known. 🤔
So uh... Was it coffee or drugs today Dave??😂
Hilarious; wish you’d had it recorded. It’s also too bad you weren’t in your studio at the time so you could have called in.
So they dumb it down for insipid audiences. I once corrected someone on the metro about the Ghostface Killer. He called him Scream, I'm like It's Ghostface.
He follows with; Yeah, he has a Ghostface, the Scream Killer. I'm like No, the Killer is Ghostface until revealed at the end of the movies we call SCREAM. His name is Not Scream. My face was so stern he was like...ok damn lol
That's just normie to the extreme 🤮
You Crack me up Dave 😂
My Mom when watching kills kept asking where's "Jamie Lees son?
I think I would have preferred Josh Hartnett over most of the new trilogy characters. Meh
@@codymays9943I would too
@@fallen119 I miss Josh. Dude was literally the Scream King of the late 90s/early 2000s
Edgar Wright said the same thing on Twitter once about it being a Shatner mask turned inside out. I couldn’t believe it, I nearly told him to turn his nerd card in.
The most ironic thing is that the first-ever slasher film is actually Peeping Tom, released a few months before Psycho. So both of them were wrong.
Technically, even that is incorrect. There's plenty of Italian Giallo films that would be considered slashers long before 1960. Dave and the hosts are right, psycho is considered the first slasher movie because it was the first to help usher in a wave of influence and set the stage that would help categorize such a genre.
@@kevindustin396 I thought it was Psycho too for the longest time, but I recently re-watched Scream 4 and in it Ghostface says Peeping Tom is the first slasher movie because it was "the first one to put audiences in the killer's POV". But you make a good point that the Italian Giallo films could also be considered slashers. So, I would agree that Psycho is the first mainstream slasher movie, but I think it could be argued if it was the first slasher movie. Depends of what you define as the elements of a slasher movie.
That's why I keep saying to fans who want to see the Jamie Lloyd story arc return. It's too hard to market to modern audiences who probably haven't even heard of the character. The Halloween fanbase is so small in comparison to the masses. Interestingly, I've also bumped into people who don't regard Psycho as a slasher movie, either. Funny video, though, Dave.
Dave you are Amazing Suoer Awesome Video 👍👍😃
What I find hilarious is that many people still confuse Jason with Michael. Fascinating since Friday the 13th has been dormant for so long, while Halloween has enjoyed something of a revival. For some reason, people seem to be more commercially connected to the name of Jason but can't differentiate between a hockey mask and that blank... pale... EMOTIONLESS mask.
When you consider Friday the 13th was essentially ripping off Halloween, I guess its easy to see the two as similar if you're someone looking at it from a broader peripheral than an engrossed fan who follows the stories (is there a story?) and the cosmetics of the monsters.
Jason is such a menacing name for a killer. And the hockey mask has been a parody in so many films, cartoons, and tv shows.
when ive went out dressed as michael myers i got called freddy once and jason a couple times.
I'd feel so embarrassed for the person who would call me Freddy as I'm dressed as Michael
A similar thing happened on an episode of The Big Bang Theory. It was a Halloween episode where they referenced Halloween 78. One of the main characters said " did you know that the original Michael Myers mask was a William Shatner mask turned inside out ?" 🤬
That must have been where this host got it from then!
@DaveMcRaeOfficial I'll bet so. I have never heard anyone else make that mistake before.
@@DaveMcRaeOfficial I think this just proves your point ;) The general moviegoing audience are also the type of people to watch generic cable sitcoms. Hmm
I recently had a conversation with a person who says they love all the Friday the 13th movies. Then they say "oh yeah, I loved how the wrestler Kane was in them". Um, Kane was in See No Evil. Kane Hodder was Jason in a few movies! To me it's just a known fact, but I guess it isn't!
I've overheard people name the wrong horror villain in the wrong franchise (example: Leatherface is the one in Friday the 13th) but I just laugh and keep quiet
This will shock you Dave my new supervisor when asked her about certain celebrities. I listed a lot off and she didn't know any of them. I mentioned Michael Biehn, Kurt Russell, Simon Pegg, Sigourney Weaver, Linda Hamilton and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Absolutely nothing from her i was like well fuck damn yet to be fair she did say she doesn't like celebrity's as she finds that there all liers. As shocked as I was I did think okay i could see her side point.
Yet i said you can still find humble and careing celebrity's still, just look at Drew Barrymore she definitely cares.
To no surprise she didn't know who Drew Barrymore is so you know i was like. 🤦
Yeah it has definitely grown considerably but we are still our own niche thing. The average person is aware of Michael Myers but for many that’s about as far as it goes.
Whats even more funny is Danielle Harris simps thinks shes big enough for the general movie audience and bigger than JLC 🤣🤣🤣
I dressed up as Michael for Halloween and someone asked who i was; so i told them to which they replied "doesn't he wear a mask" 🤦
You weren’t wearing a mask?
@KurtisB yeah was wearing my halloween kills mask... I didn't know how to respond
@@eddyama1946 Guess they just assumed it was your actual face. 😂
Reasonable assumption
Michael Myers how can people mix him up with other Horror icons, it's crazy as Dave say's.👍
I can understand Jason since at the most basic traits they are pretty simple
@@thebonk7138 💯They alll look totally different as well, i luv Horror Movies it's like Dave siad the general public may get mixed up, Myers my Faverite slasher, Myers is still alive🔪👍
Friday the 13th got its ideas from Halloween the basic concepts particularly the theme music when something is about to happen or the killer is near by ,they just went with more gore but Halloween is by far the superior movie and the best one in history where you don’t actually see much graphic violence which takes more talent to pull off .
Normies 🤮 There was a story, I think a few years back now in the US, some guy with a gun wearing a myers mask, one of the news reporters said it was a "freddy myers" mask. I remember a friend linking it to me around the time of Halloween ends.
Uber nerds know that the proto slasher film was actuslly PEEPING TOM which came out right before Psycho 🤓 🤓 🤓
David, could you please make an episode on editing in films? How to make good cuts. Can't find your email
🎃🎃🎃🎃
I say no to Halloween 4 part 2 ......2 both
What’s up with two dudes and some bullshit? Is there an episode coming anytime soon?
IF the Nun movies can gross $300 million then the general audience should be shamed for ruining movies. Same with Jurassic World 2 and 3. Etc etc. I hope Halloween can quit pandering to general audiences, who evidently need a "reintroduction" to the franchise every 15 years or so and go back to making slasher horror that at least makes an attempt to recapture the spirit of Halloween 2. (Halloween 1978 was a one shot with a formula that really can't be repeated within the same franchise)
Dave, where's your email? Can't find it, wanna write you
Why would Dave give you his email? lol.
Um, people do write him if you're not aware, he even has the video series "hate mail", not that I'm gonna write him a hate message, haha. @@kevindustin396
Um, because I think he did have it and ppl wrote him@@kevindustin396
