    Maybe Ben Tramer will be the main character this time around, that way, we could get the blond haired mask again 😂

      ben's ghost attempted to get revenge on loomis at the school in h 4 : the return ... thus the blond hair in that one scene; that wasn't michael.

    This is how I interpreted the quote. A TV reboot that is simply inspired by the original movie. To me, that's the best route to take. We don't need the original story done again. They've milked that cow dry already. Why bother doing it again? The characters and story can all change and be different. The only thing that needs to stay the same is Michael Myers. I want a fresh, new story. No more rehashing or piggybacking off what already came.

      the possibilities are endless ... where did michael go at the end of halloween 1978? he went back into the house, hid and then killed BOTH loomis and laurie! then the movie moves forward 1 year to 1979 for michael's return assault on haddonfield. michael and laurie are NOT siblings. this time it is random! call it halloween 1979. we NEED more michael myers in the 70's!
      despite the fact that i HATE the sibling aspect of halloween II (1981) ... what else they could do is HALLOWEEN 4.5 THE ANIMATED MOVIE bring back JAMIE LLOYD, REV. JACKSON SAYER, DR. LOOMIS, DEPUTY GARY HUNT from halloween II, RACHEL, CHARLIE BOYLES mentioned in the 1978 film! so what if the actors are now older or since passed away they can still voice their characters or other voice atcors can imitate the characters's voices.. skip all of the thorn crap from 5 AND 666. halloween 4.5 takes place in 1989. i never wanted jamie to become the next shape. i knew all along they were never going to take that route. what they should have done is ship jamie off to smith's grove and then have michael break into smith's grove (give haddonefield a break for one halloween) in an effort to either attempt to kill her or traumatize her to the point where she actually begins to think she could possibly be evil to get her to join up with him....which she ultimately refuses to do and in the end she turns on michael and possibly/apparently kills him and saves rachel in the process. i always thought it would be a good idea to have michael break back into the facility. this way you could have a change in the setting, but still be true to the original concept. then i saw a max von sydow movie called the night visitor from about 1971. in it he breaks out of the asylum periodically to murder those who had him institutionalized, only to break back into the asylum after each new murder he commits. then i was like 'well, maybe it isn't an original idea, but it would still be cool to see michael break back into smith's grove.' also, in my 'story' there was to have been a patient at smith's grove who was an edlerly man. this man some times seems to be helping jamie escape michael and other times he seems to he assisting michael in his quest to find her. this old guy would turn out to be charlie bowles who was mentioned in the graveyard scene in 1978's halloween as having hacked his family up after supper. it is revealed that deputy gary hunt (hunter von leer) in halloween II was judith myers's lover on halloween 1963. they both have blonde hair. the deputy says he can remember halloween 1963 in halloween II. another halloween series alumni i would like to have in what i call 'halloween 4. 5' is rev. jackson p. sayer from 4: the return. the preacher actually did catch up with the evil he had been pursuing for years that he makes reference to in his conversation with loomis in 4. when the rev. caught up with his evil, he shot it six times and actually killed it. the preacher called it 'evil', but the authorties just saw the corpse of a dead man that the preacher had shot six times. when rev. jackson tried to tell everyone the person he had killed was evil incarnate everyone thought the preacher was insane and he was sent to smith's grove where he once again converses with loomis. while in smith's grove he / the preacher encounters michael and the preacher is convinced that michael REALLY is evil incarnate ... even well beyond what he had previously been pursuing and had ecountered/shot six times and killed. once i found a way to get all of the characters at smith's grove it just fell into place. loomis was no problem. michael of course was on the trail of jamie. jamie would actually be in smith's grove. charlie boyles and rev. jackson p. sayer would all ready be there. that just left gary hunt and rachel. deputy gary hunt could either be transporting paperwork about michael and/or jamie to the facility and rachel could be going to visit jamie there independently of each other OR gary hunt could be transporting rachel there for a visit with jamie and serving as her body guard. hunt while there encounters michael. he tells michael none of this was supposed to have happened. deputy hunt tells michael he/deputy hunt truly loved micahel's sister judith and they had plans to marry as soon as both were out of school. he tells michael that he / michael ruined his/gary's life by murdering judith and that is what set him/gary on his path of being involved in law enforcement; trying to prevent anyone else from ever suffering the kind of loss that he/gary did on halloween night 1963. this encounter of course ends badly for gary hunt. as for a halloween TV series it should be an anthology series which features a different oct. 31st story every episode (III: season of the witch). for all 11 halloween ends fans out there they could still do a haddonfield high tv series. michael myers needs to stay on the big screen. if this michael oriented TV series flops they (akkad and co.) + the fans have no out. if a myers tv series fails all other halloween/haddofield plans will be cancelled.

    I think the best way to go is to just use the original movie as a guide for a TV show but with all new characters.
    Maybe have Michael kill his sister then he's sent to prison and is put on death row and on the eve on his execution, there's a storm that causes a power outage and he escapes,leaving a few bodies in his wake, finds a way to get his famous jumpsuit and mask and knife then just randomly stalks, lurks and slashes his way through Haddonfield.

    I liked the idea of a TV show, but I would be more excited to see elm street go that prequel route, even though I'm a Michael Myers guy..Then I just saw something on Snopes, ( credibility issues I know)that there might be an elm street tv show coming out. Which again, I would luv too see. How freddy became freddy, and perhaps going the direction of the Springwood Butcher, rather than nightmare on elm street.

      Agree there’s much more a writer could do with Freddy Krueger than there is Michael. I’d love to see a fully fleshed out backstory of Freddy but you can’t do that with Michael .. that said I think it will be hard to make an entire season around Krueger

    Seems to be set around Halloween 78 use that has a launching pad. Can explore other situations surrounding the 78 night. Go back to 63 to show what caused the evil in Halloween maybe do a festival of Samhain lead by Silver Shamrock which inspired Myers to kill Judith, Charlie Bowles killed his family in 63.
    In 78 Myers escaped but so did Bowles during that opening ayslum scene.
    Set after H1, Silver Shamrock are the mastermind behind all of it, Myers is still loose, Bowles is now out, Dr Loomis and a vengeful Bracket investigate Silver Shamrock and try to find Myers again setting up a bigger story. Just my two scents here.

    I think when they say they're going back to the original. I think they might consider the concept of that movie. Starting in 1963, and moving forward. And not have the actual movie itself be apart of TV series.
    .
    If they do that, and keep with John's original idea of turning into an anthology series. And have it blended between Michael Myers and other Halloween lore.
    .
    Have Haddonfield be similar to Stephen Kings Derry, where it's a landing zone of all things weird and spooky.

  • @johnnydiamond79
    @johnnydiamond79 Před 4 měsíci +2

    Yeah, Dave, I got the same feeling that you did when I read the update on the Halloween show. I think it's going to be set back in 1978. I also think that the focus of this first season of the Halloween show might be on the guys that are connected to Laurie, Annie, and Linda - Paul, Bob, and Ben Tramer. If the show gets a 10 episode first season, then what they could do is flesh out what the guys were doing before Michael breaks out and then, in the second half of the season, the rest of the stories would take place after Michael escapes.
    I don't think we're gonna see a lot of Michael in the TV show. I think we'll see him from a distance or in the shadows. But I don't think we'll see Michael Myers fully. And, if they focus on the guys, that gives them some stories to tell.
    Paul could have an encounter with The Shape on his way over to the Wallace house when Annie doesn't show up. We know what happens to Bob. But it would give his death more meaning if we knew more about him and what he was up to before being impaled by The Shape on the kitchen wall. And Ben Tramer?
    Well, that might not have even been Ben Tramer that was killed in that car crash in Halloween 2 (1981). All they said was that it was a 17 year old kid. So they could do a retcon and have that kid who died in that explosion just be some random kid. Then they could show that Ben Tramer was actually killed in an alleyway by Michael after he fell from the balcony.
    And, remember, Dave, in Halloween 2 (1981), those two kids said to Dr. Loomis and Deputy Hunt that Ben Tramer was wearing a stupid looking mask? Well, if they have Michael kill him in an alleyway, then they could show that the mask that he was wearing was a clown mask just like the one Michael wore when he killed Judith. They could even have him do his head tilting thing when he looks at the mask like he recognizes it. This is what I think they should do if they're going back to 1978.
    Or they could explore some of the back stories of the characters from the hospital in Halloween 2 (1981)? If they're going back to 1978, then Halloween 2 (1981) should be canon because it takes place on the same night. Unless they're trying to avoid the brother/sister thing which is a possibility. So what do you think of my speculation, Dave?
    I can't wait to find out more. Who knows, maybe by Halloween this year there'll be some major casting news for this Halloween TV show? That would be pretty awesome, wouldn't it, Dave?And also a great way to really celebrate Halloween this year 🎃.
    Cheers, Dave 🙂🍻

      You gave some great ideas that would be totally cool for a new 1978 version...especially about Ben Tramer. As a kid, I never thought that the killed kid in Part 2 was Ben Tramer.

    • @johnnydiamond79
      @johnnydiamond79 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Thanks, @ButterCookie1984😊 👍! I just came up with that idea about Ben Tramer yesterday after reading about that update for the Halloween TV show. Going in that direction with the guys instead of the girls just makes sense to me because we already know the girls story, y'know? And you're right it's never stated in the movie that that was Ben Tramer who was killed when that car smashed into him.
      I just read the Halloween II (1981) novelization a couple of weeks ago (because it's available digitally now on Amazon for cheap) and in the novelization it doesn't even say anywhere that that was Ben Tramer. The only thing that I know of that acknowledges that it was Ben Tramer is the NECA Halloween II (1981) Ultimate Michael Myers figure. I have him. He comes with a second head and it says that it's Ben Tramers head.
      In the product description for the figure online it mentions about having the very first Ben Tramer figure by switching the heads and putting on the head with the light blonde hair on top. So it is stated and acknowledged that that was Ben Tramer who got hit by the cop car in Halloween II (1981). But that's no big deal. They can just do a retcon if they were going to do something like my idea for the show.
      I imagine there will be some retconning going on because the show will probably be set back in 1978 and some stuff may change from what we know. And that's okay👍 to me as long as they tell a good story, you know?
      Thanks again, @ButterCookie1984, and Happy Halloween 🎃.

      I still struggle to see this show working especially if Michael is just barely around and in the shadows. I just don’t know what type of meat there is left to this story …? I love the first few movies in this series but there’s just not much else there to show

    • @johnnydiamond79
      @johnnydiamond79 Před 4 měsíci

      @brianmeen2158 Well, @brianmeen2158, what I mean by Michael mostly being in the shadows is that the TV show will feel more like John Carpenter's Halloween (1978) and have Michael sticking to and hiding within the darkness again. Being The Shape again. In the first two movies, Michael stuck mostly to the shadows. This TV show is supposed to be a "creative reset" that goes back to the '78 original so that means Michael will strike more from the shadows or hiding behind cars like he did in John Carpenter's Halloween (1978).
      Or hiding in alleyways again like in Halloween II (1981). The reason why we probably won't see Michael that much in the show is because Trancas and Malek Akkad are still making Halloween movies and Michael Myers is the driving force behind the movies. They're not gonna want to run the risk of over exposing him and that's why Michael will probably figure more prominently into the movies than into the TV show. It's already been stated that they want to focus on other characters in the Halloween universe in the TV show.
      The head of Miramax, Marc Helwig, stated this in his update on the status of the TV show. That they're trying to make a Halloween version of the MCU. So that means that they want to flesh out certain characters stories or bring other characters back and add more to their stories. Or even show characters onscreen for the first time and explore their stories, like Ben Tramer possibly.
      If you have the imagination, then there's all types of stories left to be told in the Halloween franchise. But they have to go backwards. Going forward for the Halloween franchise is impossible because Michael was born in 1957 in the original movie. So, if they are going back to the original and setting the show in 1978, then they've got all types of stories that they can possibly tell because they're starting over.
      If you feel like the idea of Halloween is played out, then that's your choice and your decision. Me, I say keep it coming as long as it's a good story. I'm willing to give them a chance. You know you don't have to have Michael Myers in every single shot in order to have a good Halloween story, movie, or TV show.
      The same thing is going on with the Crystal Lake TV show that's due to come out next year. Jason probably won't be a central figure in it. His Mom is. And yet it sounds like it's gonna be a good show.
      And even though Jason and Michael might not be in every scene, that doesn't mean that the shows will suck. Wait until we get more information about the Halloween TV show or even Crystal Lake before deciding whether you want to watch them or not.
      Happy Halloween, @brianmeen2158 🎃

    • @DaveMcRaeOfficial
      @DaveMcRaeOfficial  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Remember, the original novel is not canon to the Halloween story. The author needed to expand on the mythology for the purposes of the novel in order to make it more interesting. The novel was written after the movie came out. The author describes the Michael Myers mask as having blue eye shadow and pink lipstick.
      That said, Pagan rituals could make their way into the television series.

    I think when they meant “RESET” is starting all over again, like similar to the 78 movie. I doubt this series will be a hit, Myers was meant to be on the screen but I see where they going . Making a t.v series to forget about everything and make a movie out of the t.v serie. I think David really finished it with ENDS. There is no way you can continue a Halloween movie after that trilogy David did.

      Nothing. As Marc Helwig said, it's a complete creative reset. It's like how nothing was canon (Halloween 78 included) when Rob Zombie made his Halloween films. Just because nothing is canon, doesn't mean they cannot use H78 as inspiration to move forward. Canon just means connected in the same universe.
